To be fair, I'm trying to make it write a simple compiler with an x86 JIT backend. Absolutely not a simple task, but come oonnnnnnn. It just goes in circles, over and over and over

It's exactly as I imagined. Just like ChatGPT, if it failed 2 times, it will never recover and you should just start a new conversation to clear the poisoned context. For a half hour I've been trying to get to compile a program which prints hello world. It just can't do it. No matter what, the compiled program just always returns 42 and nothing else (or segfaults)

So, if you didnt hear recently, YouTube is using AI to determine your age based on your activity which is first of all, a fucking privacy violation, if they find you to be under 18, you will lose access to a lot of Youtube unless you give some sleazy company your ID. I think this is all bullshit, Youtube should retract this, I fucking hate it, Youtubes restricted mode is fucking slop. Heres how to survive the armaggeddon. Avoid shit with "try youtube kids" next to the description. Treat those videos as they are nuclear waste. They are best avoided. Do not have child like viewing habits or Corporate Cowardice might flag you. Same goes with use of emojis. Dont use emojis like the cretins in my comment section as kids like emojis. Other than that, This is all fucking bullshit. Youtube doesnt know how much fucking backlash they are going to face, in fact they are facing backlash right now, Look youtube, fucking retract this bullshit, otherwise the community might choose fucking thermonuclear war. AI is still a fucking gimmick. I do not trust AI. Fuck all this shit.

I had a sudden realization that social media has slowly crept from being "connect to your friends" to "try not to commit suicide as you climb the infinite social ladder amongst people who are not your peers"

... and I think it deserves to die. Furthermore, I think the only thing that could kill it is the greed that we're seeing finally strangle social media today.

... that's when it's gonna be *bad* enough for people to reduce their usage of it. It will once again encourage the spaces we had before greed took a strangle-hold. Private areas for just you and your real-life friends. To be safe from the corporate slop bots, the LLMs, the 8-second videos of kittens performing impossible tasks... just you and your buds keeping up with each other.

This is the self-healing that nature is so good at. It's incredible how it always happens.

A dude will make a post about how to "scale" a system, yet they have no grasp of the most basic fundamentals. They have no idea what a CDN is, they think you can just store blobs and be done with it. Like, bro, are you going to be serving a 10MB image from the DB every single time it's requested? How WILL that scale? How will low bandwith users be served? Oh, yeah right, I forgot that everyone in the world has 1Gbps internet from NASA.
They think serverless will take care of it.
BUT HOW? No wonder "serverless" companies like Vercel are making bank out of idiots who can't manage to spin up a decent VPS that would take care of 99% of usecases.
