Excel is not a project management tool!!!

Spent yesterday working on a card for adjusting a Graph query to properly sort records. Made all the specs. Tests them all. It gets approved.

Rebased today, and the project lead (who made the card I worked on, told me to work on it and approved my PR) put in a sorting scope that's totally different, in order to "unblock" a frontend dev.

After examining it and discussing it, my work was totally unnecessary, and didn't do what we really needed anyway. Closed my PR. Don't feel like doing shit today.

Ok so there is this company we work for as a client. They stalled the project for 3 months not wanting to sign the contract in the summer for reasons unknown while we "waited" to start.

In the contract it was noted that the project will take 6 months FROM THE time they sign the contract.
They signed it in September and still want to go live this year. They don't care what is in the contract but they have legal deadlines they must comply and for that they need the project.
I mean WAT? How disfunctional you must be to stall a project you have legal compliance for?

Hello fellow devs, hope you rocking! I need your advice as junior dev here. How do you handle big projects ? I mean, without getting lost when coding and having a clear understanding of code's flow.

What does a previous sprint hangover feel like?
When it's quite hard to start working on a new project after another project (new sprint)... "Ok, I'll start in 15 minutes"... "Ok, in another 30 minutes", so on and so forth!!! :-P

Show of hands for people who feel they can effectively estimate their work and consistently give accurate due dates on short tasks and longer projects?

Since i started working at this company; 99% of all work was completely new for me. Every god damn time i’m being put on a project i’ve never seen before or worked on. This is so tiring and f’d up. Vacation period is on, we don’t have enough people and the people that are there are on vacation. What projectmanagement? Never heard of it. The actual project manager here is depending on the on developer who is able to keep a bit of an overview.

Can’t complain. I get paid right? And it’s a shithole everywhere. Right?
This is just temporary….
