Search - "square button"
Father: What is this? *hands me a box*
Me: 😯 *opens box*
The contents of the box: a white cube about an inch on each side, with a speaker on one side, a button on the other and three small holes.
Comes with a manual (square inch piece of plastic with a drawing) that shows you what the button does (turn it on, duh) and some indications as to what the various holes do.
Me: 😶 I have no clue... Maybe it's for taking calls? (though speaker mode does exist peeps)
Father: 😑What do you mean you don't know... Don't you know about stuff like this?
I love when my family assumes I am all knowing when it comes to anything running on electricity... Guys, just because I program I am not a psychic and am not better suited to fix your printer or fix your phone screens.12
Fucking Square Enix Website is just a huge pile of shit. NOTHING WORKS!
Wanna change your password? Nah sorry an error occured.
Wanna change your username? Nah sorry I'll just show you a loading symbol forever.
Wanna add a game to your collection? Nah sorry the "add" button is on fucking holiday and doesn't do anything.
Wanna change your avatar? Nah sorry I'll just redirect you and don't do anything.
Most amazing part is where you log in, then get redirected to the home page but it still shows the "Log in" button. Then you click on that "Log In" button and wosh! Home page reloads and tada! You're logged in!
Seriously who let this code into production? Also I know that you're using GraphQL now, due to an error message. Thank you!
That moment when your employer opens his 15 years old shitty Compaq (the one with Square Screen, and slide button which is used to open the lid), and you are there with your Macbook...
I seriously want to gift him one, but only if he agrees to increase my salary, so that I can afford to gift a Mac.1
I see a lot of talk about complex numbers, and yet
for all they are worth, I have not once been
able to find an explaination on how to calculate
them by hand, namely the real component.
2.23606 is obviously just the square root of 5, but where the hell did 1.369 come from?
Apparently no one fucking knows, and no site I've found gives a simple explanation for someone new to math in general.
"use a calculator", "hit a button",
How about no.9
css frameworks are a sign your ui/ux team is an empty bag of chips.
vuetify examples look like toys in their docs and work that way in prod. if you put any two vuetify components together on a page you basically dont have a website anymore. mx px are indicators that your styling abstraction is so bad that adding 8 resize shims to every single node on the dom is the correct solution to your visual spacing dilemma.
css offers so many powerful tools out of the box now, and it takes like a week to actually learn them. instead, we cloak all the functionality and expressiveness of modern css in black-box m a t e r i a l d e s i g n and pretend like obtuse blobs are a viable substitute for coherent, accessible, user-friendly ux.6
"as well as stability and performance improvement" aka revert the stupid address bar change that requires an extra click to actually edit the text.
Yes Google must've thought people were idiots to have to show a copy button by default and an extra button to edit the link...
Oh wait they must've realized actually they're the idiots. I actually used Firefox for a while but their tab manager with the square grid is annoying or some other issue...4
