So I've been working since the summer on an app that uses NLP to record audio (I was thinking of using it for school classes), transcribe it and summarize it automatically

I've been using it at school and it WORKS

IT WORKS

I've actually put an app that I made to make my homework and sum classes up and IT WORKS

SCREWED OVER GOOGLE WITH MICROSOFT!!!! YES!!!

So as I'm deaf, I've always had a problem with captions or lack of them.

I thought Live Captions would fix it but it's only supported on selected devices and not enabled for calls and conferences like Zoom, WhatsApp.

I tried hooking up my sound card with an audio capble to my phone which has LC and also Live Transcribe... but somehow wouldn't pick up the audio.

Then today I was like wait... I could just install a Pixel emulator... excepy seems Google thought of that...

(I installed VB Cable virtual sound card and routed sound out to mic in).

Well first apparently, the emulator does not actually identify as Pixel... it identifies as an Emulator that sorta looks like Pixel...

Which means no LC...

I installed LT and also a sound meter which confirmed it was getting the audio but no transcription...

Though I tried GBoard and it sorta worked..
But I would like continuous transcription... and so I open the app store and try all the apps until I hit MSFT Translate...

Which has a convo mode which seems pretty much designed to screw Google over lol. Just need to start a Convo with myself...

Ion fuckin care if people post memes, not even if they post it as rant. But when they TRANSCRIBE the fucking meme im really tempted to make like 10 accounts just to downvote that shit. Eat a dick you fat fucking whores.

OK Google.... guess we'll play it the hard way....

I'll just upload all videos i want transcribed onto Youtube in smaller (10 minute?) chunks where machine transcribe is enabled...

This is a gripe about modern UX interfaces. UX interfaces need to have better ways to get information displayed in text as text. It is exceedingly annoying to be presented with an error message in a dialog with a cryptic error code. The user is forced to transcribe the error message to try and figure out what is causing the error. Just make the text copy-able with normal cut and paste interfaces. I think this should be a standard in interfaces that present text to make it easy to copy the message or text from interfaces. This makes information sharing easier and less cumbersome to the user. This is definitely a mindset change for UX. This is mostly a gripe about desktop. Phone systems are just shit to begin with.

can someone transcribe this? My best wild guesses are : "F it", "fart it" or WiFi it?

For once I like stupid devs.

The initial version of Live Captions doesn't work for phone, zoom, etc bc these apps have some do not caption flag I think... Or Google itself added them to a blacklist.

Well I made a video appt with my Dr for a quick follow-up visit.

I had this crazy setup at first on my PC/webcam but in the end the conference program somehow didn't work properly, video lagged/disconnected. (Ok I hate whoever wrote this)

So I tried phone expecting it not to work... But it did.

(Also had another phone set up to pick up the sound using Live Transcribe... But problem is it's pick up my voice instead)

Uh... What? This is for Live Transcribe... Why would I want to hide it?

Interestingly though, I now can't uninstall it... Maybe it became a system app with the last upgrade (Pixel phone)

So my TV tuner outputs the videos as 1-20GB TS files... To my secondary 1TB HDD...

But that's my main storage drive too. And well I'm recording every week and maybe transcribing some to keep.

Also seems for Plex, need to transcribe to mp4 beforehand.

So now I'm worried about drive failure, seems most DVR drives last around 2-4yrs... depending on use...

Wondering if I need an external USB "throwaway drive" or another internal, not sure whether there's an empty slot, need to check
