Then I spent 2 days trying to make outlook 2010 work again on a user's desktop. Just to find out the "run in compatible mode" was on (even after removing the office completely from the reg manually)...
And I still don't know why the *%×& the compatible mode was preventing outlook from loading the user's profile 😣 -
Quick question...
Can you guys code without any reference?
I find very hard to memorize all the functions and etc...4 -
2 weeks ago: I received a call from a recruiter. After the interview, she said I was the right profile for the oportunity...
Last week: I went on the interview with the manager... In the end he also said that it was very good and I would receive a call in the next week to start the paperwork...
Today: I receive an e-mail saying that they decided to focus in a different path with the job, but will keep my data for future opportunities...
Really?!4 -
My biggest regret:
To have waited so long to really start doing what I've always loved...
Now I'm 29 and back to internship :P4 -
I know there will always be new things to learn... But...
How do you guys deal with that overwhelming feeling that strikes when you start to think about how many things are there to study/research/understand yet?
Do you even feel it at all?2 -
Never ever open a computer while breathing...
I got a ticket to fix a computer from the production line that was turning itself off...
When I opened it, a dark dust from hell came right into my lungs... There were more dust in there than I've ever seen in my entire life... Combined...
I'm still sneezing 3 hours later, and a few black spots keep coming out with everything else...4 -
So, in my Country there are people actually selling 40 empty folders for about 3 dollars... As a gift they also send an empty .doc file... And people are buying it!!!29

After a few months saving a few bucks, finaly got myself a second monitor to upgrade my studies/work...
Two days later, got back home from work to find my older monitor dead... I guess I'll go back to one screen setup for some time again :(5 -
I don't get why people like so much to mix personal life with professional... Always planning parties and "Forcing" everybody to join in... Sometimes it seems you can only be a good professional if you like to drink all weekend and complain about what you've been paid to do...8

I was installing 2 desktops yesterday... When I got to the place they would be installed, there were no electric outlets in the room. I called the supervisor and said they would have to open a request with the electric department to finish the installation and he asked me:
But I use my laptop in this room all the time, why do you need electricity to install the computers?
I think I achieved a new level of self-control... -
I don't know what to choose...
A no-brainer job in data input with security, stability and a chance of promotion or transfer to another area IT related far away in the future...
Or
An intership of one year, in systems analysis, with a 30% better salary but no guarantees after that...4 -
A guy came from another city, just to teach a little bit on how to improve productivity, and after almost 2 hours of him telling stories about his life and career, in five minutes he told us to delete games and facebook from our cellphones, and only focus on learning and work related apps... And He tried to sell us the complete series of books and videos with the full content on productivity in the end...4

So I started learning html, css and javascript this year... After getting stuck in understanding a few concepts I started learning a little of sql and Java...
Now after a few begginer tutorials I have no idea where to go or what to dedicate my studies...
Most companies around my city use Java, but I'm already 29 years old and I feel like this will be a problem... Should I focus on learning frameworks and try big companies internships, or go for web development and start working on my own?5 -
