Omg there's a new doughball shop. In Belgium doughballs (croustillons) are only sold during fair time, and quite expensive (like 10 euros for 6). This african shop seels deep-fried doughballs for 3 euros for 6!
I am planning to become fat soon.8 -
@jonathands was so nice to share coupons from WarpCLI and I gave it a try.
The system did literally exactly what I wanted. I just wanted to convert my `r` from c to Python.
That was quite the project, but it was all done within a hour. I still have to test a bit better though,
but if I look at the README.md it seems that it really found every functionallity it has. Readline support and stuff,
--stdin flag, a flag not to highlight, support for multiple LLM's etc.
While this was just for fun, see here details about how much the tool achieved in around a hour and how the colab went:
https://retoor.molodetz.nl/retoor/...
And it's cool that you can convert a whole project with your free coupon.
See https://retoor.molodetz.nl/retoor/... for the functionallity of this app.
WarpCLI vibe tool formatted another vibe tool, much older than him. But r was always ment to be small / a real tool.
WarpCLI comes with very sophisticated well listening model.
I actually have more that I want to convert. I wonder how good it is in wren :P
But a tool like this, that's probably how my future will look like as a programmer.
I mean, we just converted a few weeks work in a hour or so.

Oh, regarding privacy, they have network log, you can see precisely what is communicated to the server. It did read my bash history where i was a bit mad about but it does not seem that he sent it. Also he did not collect my env-file it seems. Still, will update everything tonight.3 -

There was a post recently to not think about that someone is evil if you can explain it with stupidity, well it was nicely phrased but you get the point, so, today I went to the toilet, someone tore down the paper from the wall that states to not throw trash into the pissoir and he threw in into it. I am 98% certain it wasn't stupidity but pure disrespect and disregard of the person who tries to fucking keep ot clean. I just can't stand people anymore.1

Who is whimsical, for some reason I vibe with him a lot. Such fundamental based quotes. So nice. I'm sure he's not a bot. (buy maybe becoming one :P).5

looking at jobs I don't have the brains for this anymore I think
that's so sad
I wonder if I do obsessive cardio could I outdo all the "multiple sclerosis" lesions -.-
can't code my way out of a fucking paper bag
had some dude add me on LinkedIn that looks impressive and he's connected to some people I worked with who were impressed with my code before... so years later they must've been still talking about me. but I'm a shadow of my former self if I could even qualify as a fucking shadow. I'm so embarrassed to even be existing that's my level of depression on the matter4 -
I have to rebuild a full application till the end of the year without ever using the original application and without a technical document while keeping the users happy.
2 people team compared to a multinational team over 10 years :')
How are you supposed to do that!?7 -
Since 2020, according to American NIST, an inch is exactly 25.4 mm. No foot shenanigans anymore. Thus, in the US of A and a lot of other countries, an inch is just a weird metric unit.
Imperial system is a lie.8 -
Why cellphone is like a Tamagotchi nowadays?
*BlimBlom* please notice me!
At one random time a lady voice said in my pocket: "GPS signal lost."
What is going on, my dear Tamagotchi?10 -
I waited so long to brag about this fact: I finish whatever project I start. No matter how bored I get, I never abandon it midway or get sidetracked into some shiny new gig. I was gloating and jubilating this evening cos I can beat my hands against my chest after months and months at a stretch. Held a little party on my WhatsApp status haha7

thinking on it in retrospect, all the doctors I've met don't know why people get worse or better in the various conditions they've tried to diagnose me with now (lol, talk about confirmation bias and "hypochondriac" insult they kept giving me)
but they'll sure arrogantly tell you how diet has no medical basis for curing their conditions and other insane garbage
they don't know why people get worse or better, but they'll tell you judgmentally that you should just do what they say... even though they don't know why people get worse or better
they'll make fun of things people try... even though they don't know why people get worse or better. which is wild. if you don't know why don't you admit you don't know, fully? you'll admit it when I ask you questions about your knowledge base. but you don't admit it when it's outside your knowledge base? suddenly you're all knowing and there's no hope there? but you don't know why your own patients are getting worse or better
if they're getting worse and better it means something outside of your strategies are effecting their outcomes. but you will dismiss all strategies outside your own
and have a PhD somehow. like not just medical doctors by this point I've seen. they've got PhD in the medical field and a specialty they contributed to. but they don't know why people get worse or better. but you shouldn't do PhD level research -- it doesn't work, even though we mention nothing about what makes people worse and we don't believe in making people better1 -

Today, I fully parallelized my evolution algorithm.
That means that since Thursday of last week, even though I took yesterday off, I was able to learn about metaheuristics, implement three of them (one being my own awful invention that did not perform) and successfully parallelize them.
Feeling good, man.2 -
Correction: oligarchy, not "democracy".
Unless you mean it in the classical sense of the word, where "people" is not as broad a term, given how **citinzenship** was an exclusive status in the ancient city-states that developed these concepts.
However, even in that case -- which I find highly unlikely -- I'd argue that oligarchy is equivalently if not moreso applicable as an accurate description of said form of government.
Every few years, you (probably) go and vote _not_ for whomever better represents your interests, but rather for whomever seems to be the lesser evil: the 'best of the worst', if you will, out of a series of horrible candidates you absolutely do not trust.
That is undemocratic; no semblance of power is vested in us, much less "supreme power", and we cannot speak of anything even remotely alike to popular sovereignty within this context. By which I mean, we have overlords rather than "representatives".
And this, altogether, does beg the question: why do we parrot these terms as if they were ever a faithful description of anything? Have we no capacity for language, perhaps?
Appropriately enough, it's bollocks all the way down. -
I'm at a point in my career where I've started to think -
"Have I made it?"
I mean, I make a very good amount of money by freelancing, I have an online presence with my YouTube and I have a wife.
Isn't this all I ever wanted in life? If I push for more at this point, what am I pushing further for?
This question is equally relaxing and terrifying at the same time. It keeps me enlightened and in a state of limbo, at the same time.9 -
So for a few months now, I've been battling w/ failed updates of Windows 11 from version 23H2 to 24H2.
Initially, the update became available around Christmas.
During the update process, the PC BSOD'ed, then failed, && ultimately reverted to its original 23H2.
Couple of months later - same thing.
A few weeks ago, the update was once again offered to me...
...same _fucking_ thing.
...OK. This time around I actually saw something that resembled a meaningful error code.
...googled it.
...stumbled upon this post:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/... .
Well, I wasn't thrilled about it, but decided to try the solution, as that environment mentioned actually mirrored my own.
Yup. That was it.
It's fucking retarded how an OS can't even successfully undergo an update because of a security solution.
I'd say they should work together to solve that idiotic inconvenience.
Oh, yeah - once fully updated I have reinstalled the security solution. It's good, so apart from the OS's update failure thingy, can't really complain.
Thanks for reading.11 -
Just finished the code tests. I swear all of them could have just been regex. The first 2 I know can be because I did.
The last one was pattern matching in an array of strings (think battleships)
I actually fucked up the second test because I decided that they probably want code instead of regex...8 -

I have such an unpopular opinion on some things that I'm afraid to tell it aloud, fearing of cancellation, hate and stuff. I don't think this is a democracy anymore if we have to self police our thoughts to match the acceptance of the weak.49

Lets dive deep into the cesspool of Youtubes new AI age verification bullshit. So, if you didnt hear recently, YouTube is using AI to determine your age based on your activity which is first of all, a fucking privacy violation, if they find you to be under 18, you will lose access to a lot of Youtube unless you give some sleazy company your ID. I think this is all bullshit, Youtube should retract this, I fucking hate it, Youtubes restricted mode is fucking slop. Heres how to survive the armaggeddon. Avoid shit with "try youtube kids" next to the description. Treat those videos as they are nuclear waste. They are best avoided. Do not have child like viewing habits or Corporate Cowardice might flag you. Same goes with use of emojis. Dont use emojis like the cretins in my comment section as kids like emojis. Other than that, This is all fucking bullshit. Youtube doesnt know how much fucking backlash they are going to face, in fact they are facing backlash right now, Look youtube, fucking retract this bullshit, otherwise the community might choose fucking thermonuclear war. AI is still a fucking gimmick. I do not trust AI. Fuck all this shit.8

I started using devRant soon after I landed my first ever gig (internship) as a dev, and I've grown leaps and bounds since, and been almost a decade.
From a starting where I could barely manage my expense, to where I have saved enough to have a runway and have my own startup; yeah I am starting up...
Building something on the same lines as devRant for a completely different market...18 -
Sick and tired of this stupid country. I came to this city because the newspapers keep saying it had a huge drug problem. I CANNOT FIND DRUGS ANYWHERE
