Falcon Heavy launch coming up!
I can't wait. That's something people should watch, fuck the superbowl!
I would say it's 60% as significant as the moon landing was, if not more; a field of technology we should really focus on, but governments rather spend money on stupid war
Make sure to tune in tomorrow, 18:30 / 06:30pm UTC, on SpaceX's YouTube channel
It's going to be spectacular, success or failure7 -
IT FRICKING WORKED
THE FALCON HEAVY WORKED FLAWLESS
The synced landing was beautiful <3
What happened to the core though? 🤔6 -
Holy shit. I'm actually vibrating after watching the FH launch. Seeing the two falcon 9s landing at the same time looks straight out of a sci-fi movie :P
Also, I wonder what happened to the core 🤔4 -
(!rant && !dev && awesome == true)
So for the space fanatics here who didn't knew. SpaceX will launch their falcon heavy rocket today Can't wait 😊22 -
Dragon on falcon 9. First re-use of a commercial orbit-class space-craft!
Launched successfully

I am curious whether facebook IS listening to conversations or not.
Living with my girlfriend in a small appartment, yesterday we were talking about some shitty game we both played around 10 years ago, I was wondering whether the game still exists and googled on my phone (via LTE, not wifi) - yeah the game is still online and still the same shit.
Today she saw facebook sponsored ads to this game on HER facebook.
Today we watched a movie (Valerian and the thousands planets) - and there was this ship which looked similar to Millenium Falcon. I noted that in the midtime. After the movie - guess what - opened the facebook abd there was a sponsored ad to buy Millenium Falcon miniature or lego figure.
How? Randomized events? I do not think so. This was not the first time it happened.
Note: we are not native english speakers, maybe "millenium falcon" could be the only catch fb could achieve?16 -
I just realized how weird my searches would seem to an outsider
"python twisted vs falcon celery"
"python hug vs falcon"
I do like naming stuff as animals though. Maybe we should sort all of the python web servers by speed and name them accordingly.
Falcon is obviously the fastest, we can name twisted cheetah, and all the way at the end Django becomes elephant. Big and powerful but soooooooooo slow. -
I take the train well out side of rush hour when the trains are about half empty (though most seats taken). I have to come in because it's not like I can afford to have a workspace comparable to the cockpit of the millennium falcon both at home and at work.
I don't believe going into a panic about coronavirus but take obvious basic precautions to at least reduce the chance and slow the spread and that should do a good amount to reduce overloading the system. I kid you not, at this point medical facilities are considering buying diving equipment for enriched O2 supplies to keep up.
Today, as usual, some fucking piece of shit cunt twat psycho beggar that literally needs to be in an asylum with a massive fucking great gob of snot dangling out his nose is going up the entire train, every carriage, begging groping every hand rail along the way and potentially exposing several hundred people every hour.
I told this sorry sack of shit, surprisingly politely, that he'll end up rapidly spreading coronavirus if he keeps going all the way up and down the carriage like that. After he's fucking muttering on trying to make people feel bad about fucking ignoring him not being all caring and shit and then doesn't give a shit about giving everyone coronavirus after fucking waltzing down the entire fucking length of the train his pockets stuffed with coin. Then he threatens to assault me. I was fucking this > < far away from unleashing a life changing beat down and kicking his ass off the train with no pain or injury spared.
At the same time, that piece of scum waste of skin the mayor has apparently informed the public that you can't get coronavirus on the train or buses. How the fuck did he come to that conclusion? Is this really happening? How can something that clinically fucking thick as shit be our lord and master?
I fucking thought the great toilet paper rush was brain dead. Jesus fucking Christ and people voted for this fucking championship moron. Why don't they just all save themselves the fucking hassle and all march themselves off a fucking cliff?
These dumb shits without two neurons to rub together only need to put a dozen or so plain clothed police offices on the trains to catch these fuckers.
Why am I even fucking paying taxes? Where's it all fucking going? Another fucking lets give a billion quid to Fujitsu fucking failed IT project again I bet. Can't people bloody do anything these days? Does there have to be an app for fucking everything?
Someone should make a fucking facial recognition app so I can snap a shot of these fuckers and then if one of these fucking passes the phone camera anyone else with the app it'll set of there's a fucking imbecile in the vicinity alert.
These people need to be dragged out into the street, lined up against the wall and shot. No remorse. Toss them in a pit, cover it with dirt and be done with it. Why even bother with the execution? Throw them down the hole and fill it with dirt.
You don't have to go mental like it's the plague but people could at least show some fucking common sense, common decency and basic decorum. Even minimal measures, is that much to ask? Absolute scum of the Earth. How we even allow them to walk to Earth I do not fucking know.1 -
When your co-worker, that btw has no idea wtf he's talking about, comes with his opinion that you happen to hate, on a project you have worked on for months.

One thing that @scout taught me is to wear the oxygen mask myself before helping others. Oh she is a sweetheart.
This advice has stuck with me since and slowly & steadily, I am regaining my lost confidence and self love.
Remember, how I was struggling for clarity a couple of months ago? But now, I feel more clear in head.
During the start of the pandemic, I joined a community of corporate normies. I used to live happier until that decision.
That place made me ultra competitive and I subconsciously became a rat trying to win the race. I damaged myself more than I benefited.
I joined at the time of inception. Every core member is a good friend.
Now the fun thing is, they moved to Slack. Many of the core members run the community as admins.
While I don't engage much, but talk to some of them occasionally.
One key area is, running a job board to help people get jobs. And another is mentorship to help the members overcome challenges and grow in their career.
In DMs, literally every core member who is doing this for others is struggling themselves for the same. How fucking ironic!
They seek help and advice from me and vent out their failure frustrations.
Imagine, someone who isn't able to solve their problem, let alone solving it first before helping others, is guiding the community of few thousands to excel in their careers.
Fucking brilliant.
One of the biggest life lessons @scout taught me, wear your oxygen mask first before helping others.48 -
I got out of bed at 2:10am to film the Falcon Heavy launch from my driveway, where I have a direct, due east line of sight to Cape Canaveral. I’m thinking “What a time to be alive!” and “Why didn’t I pursue the aerospace career I started in college?”5

I took Database System Class and Courses in University, and told to store the password using its hash and don't store it in plain text; it is at least a standard.
today i just resetting my gmail password since i forgot the password. and i wonder by how google forgot password mechanism work.
for example i register the password with:
'xxxfalconxxx'
and then change it to:
'youarebaboon123'
sometimes later i forgot both password, and google asked for the last password i remember; and i only remember part of it so i entered:
'falcon'
and this is right, so i can continue the forgot password mechanism. how could you check the hashed text of 'falcon' is the subset of hash text 'xxxfalconxxx' ?2 -
If someone uses !important in the top css file with body, you have the right to falcon punch them in their f*cking face.2

So I've been really excited about the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launch today and my professor RESCHEDULES THE MIDTERM for the same time slot. Fml1

I’m driving out to Cape Canaveral early on Feb 6 to see if I can get a good view of the first Falcon Heavy launch. The space geek in me can hardly handle the cool factor of Elon Musk having built a rocket company to send a car from his car company to ever lovin’ Sol/Mars orbit. If it scrubs, I’ll keep going out there until it launches. Wish me luck!1
-
Rant: there's people in the world who don't properly venerate Elon Musk and they are wrong and it's a tragedy and there's even those who dislike him and I find that absolutely abhorrent.1

I've been wandering around with a brain itch for the past few days trying to pick an API framework.
I wanted to something fast and async, so I would normally use Go, but it's an interface to a python project, so I had to find a good asynchronous python web server.
Twisted provides async options, but they aren't baked in, and tornado/cyclone/airohttp are written in a weird way for someone coming from flask/Django.
Finally I resolved to use Falcon, because it was built for APIs and async by default, but it was crazy verbose to write. I settled in to write it anyway... But then I found the perfect library. Hug: https://github.com/timothycrosley/....
I can finally think clearly.
Now I can finally write my code... At least until I have to pick a framework for the rewrite of the web app.5 -
hey, someone mentioned nasa today or whatever. got me curious. if you happen to catch this, the falcon launch happens in 16 minutes. nasa.gov2

After watching the Falcon Heavy launch up close, I’m severely regretting having changed my major from aerospace engineering to computer science and then to information systems. Anyone else feeling the desire to go back to school and get a degree in something that’ll land you a job at SpaceX or some other company?4

Windows be like: "bro is that a fucking usb drive? I don't have drivers for that"
Linux be like: "Hold on, is that a Millennium Falcon? I've got the drivers for that"10 -
I work as android dev for the past year and a half, this week in my startup I started doing some backend (it consists of microservices, codebase is written in python. were using rabbitmq for queuing and for http our framework is falcon).
At first I was very adamant to learn new stuff but now that Im getting deeeper into backend I started to really enjoy it!
Its still lots of new information but at the same time it feels soo refreshing to have two experienced mentors who can guide you, since Ive spent last year and half working on android completely by myself and relying only on myself. Also im very lucky that codebase is clean. -
ive been coding all day for days and as i was sitting trying to code more features something mentally hit me like, invisible falcon punched me, like something snapped inside my mind and i literally lost balance in my brain and could not control my balance, if i stood up i would instantly fall down, picture it as trying to walk without bones in your body, fortunately i was sitting down on the chair so i didnt collapse on the floor, it felt like there was no gravity and i was just floating, but my head started falling down on the table as i was sitting, it was outside of my control, and then everything started fading to black, my brain could not even think anything at this moment, i wanted to speak but i forgot how to speak words, not even joking, turned out i slipped into unconsciousness for a few moments and got back up, slowly regaining my balance and speech/consciousness control.
what the fuck just happened
i am surprised i could remember everything what happened until i blacked out
why didnt anyone warn me these are the consequences of working extraordinarily harder?6 -
Learning Falcon right now. Coming from strong front-end background having learnt Redux, React and stuff,
Falcon is what a backend framework must be! Why do you need templating in backend these days?8
