Market Research. Is killing me.
I’m a developer, let me just develop. But of course in order to develop we have to have a good understanding of our customers and what they want/need.
As a startup we literally are just cold messaging every freelancer we can find and it is a lovely process 😂
So I guess if anyone here is a freelancer and would like to help us learn more about the landscape mind taking a minute and filling this out for us?

I have to work on a site and I have recently been working on stuff none stop so I am a bit burnt out. Anyways, I have to have this site done by Monday and I have already delayed 5 days playing Rainbow 6 Siege. I am ready to come back

Trying to figure out what I should learn, I have a little experience with PHP (Though I am not a huge fan of it). I have thought about Node.js and Ruby but I cant decide. Anyone know what I should learn as a backed language?6

Alright so listen to this. I was working on a project, it was a fork of another github repo. So the project is mainly based in PHP, simple enough right?
Anyways I have my version working and I put it up as a website and am doing fairly well with it. I was trying to advertise it a bit on reddit ( pay attention to the trying ) then someone comes along and asks how I made it and all that.
Just trying to be kind I tell them what I used and all that to make it. Then they come back a few hours later explaining that they are trying to make their own version for "fun". Then they proceed to explain that they are having some issues with it, it obviously is something in the back-end (they must've fucked up something).
So I politely ask them to show me the code so I can help them fix it.
He refuses.
So we exchanged a bit. What his excuse for not showing me his code ( Keep in mind he is also taking this from an open-source software same as me he has simply broken something and can't fix it himself ) is he doesn't want me stealing his ideas...
I nearly snapped when he did that, I had already seen the site he made, from that end it wasn't anymore spectacular than mine and no serious changes seemed to have occurred. The best part is that it was broken. He asked for my help and refused to let me see the code so I told him that I simply couldn't help him fix it then. He goes and is just going alright.
Next he then asks me how I solved this issue and that issue and he wanted the code that I used to fix each of these little issues. Pretty much to the point that it would've been a clone of my site. So I just didn't give him anything.
Didn't hear from him for a few hours, next thing I know he messages me asking if he can fix my site so it is mobile friendly...First off my site is mobile friendly and works pretty well. I have been spending a lot more quality time to work on this than him.
Moral of the story is, some people are retards.4 -
You know, one of my worst fears as a programmer isn’t a bug, or shitty clients, it’s not even happening on my computer.
It’s when I can’t find a good playlist to listen to because the good ones I listen to way to much and I get sick of them so I get stuck with nothing and my Brain simply can’t function without a butt shaking toon!1 -
Users complain about advertising and how it is annoying to have to see these ads just around the page while they just want to see the main content. So what do they do? They decide to use adblockers which start pushing web admins to find another method to make money. So half the time they offer the service for a lot more than normal which makes people not want to pay for it. So now I decide to push into the embedded crypto miners, which sadly cut in half my earnings but it’s so I can still make something and then people start to complain about this even though it doesn’t bother them in anyway
WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT6 -
I was just tasked with building a full e-commerce site in a week...so they want me to just put PrestaShop on a site and buy a template? Cause that’s now what I do I actually build my stuff from scratch and sorry but it’s gonna take a little more than a week.

So I take a business class that is offered at my school and currently the whole class is working together to make a business.
Well me being me I get assigned to lead the website part of the business but we have a bunch of extra people in the group so I sit down with them, and I ask them a few questions like “have you done any web development before?” Or “do any of you have experience with photoshop?” Well I’m the only one who knows how to do anything, I’m also the youngest.
This is go my to be a long year -
Finally started to learn Node.js and actually set up a small server with node and express and ejs, it honestly works nice but requires so many small things that take a bit to set up, while an apache server running PHP and Mysql would take me 5 minutes max to set up, but either way still trying to make that transition.5

I was sitting in Geometry, and i realized something. Geometry fucking sucks, i would pick Algebra any day. I love using letters it reminds me of varibles and its not thay bad5

The weekend is finally over, I have updated my Web Proxy and built an entire blog to post on and applied for a bunch of ad-networks.
I think I have been rather productive ☺ -
Bought this a while ago thinking i would read, never ended up doing it. Now i am actually trying to learn it, and this shit is out of date8

So I was trying to go to sleep and my phone buzzed around 11:35 and it said someone commented on one of my rants so i went and read it, checked out how high my score was. Read a few rants...then a few more...wrote some comments...maybe one or two more...its almost 1am...6

So I am only 15 and I am trying to find local businesses that will allow me to either build them a website or let me redo their current website.
Doesnt sound thay complicated right? I have gotten to do it once, for a laid back coffee shop owner whos business went out of business a day after i emailed him about it being done. I mean how the hell does that even happen!
I have tried different types of emails and shown all of my work, which it is all good sites that look professional. Issue is alot of people dont trust email offers or dont trust me cause im 15. I am not much of a person who can walk into a store and talk to the owner about it, i am not social in that aspect.
So anyone have any ideas?5 -
I try to cold email a business about redoing their website, and i dont get a reply for 3 days and i was a little dissapointed. Then i get this email 😑6

Got locked out of my DigitalOcean account, absolutly hate OVH vps's, and currently relying on free credit with Google Cloud Services.
Anyone have better ideas? 😂25 -
Trying to decide whether or not to learn Node.js, I have been using PHP for the past 4 years and I feel that I am not up to date with the changing Web Development Community.17
