Any recommendations on what I should get? 8GB DDR4 RAM or 240GB SSD

I have Dell Inspiron 3567 with 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD. I would just like to have an overall faster/smoother experience in my day to day tasks. Like opening up applications or building projects.
Maybe it's worth mentioning that I do a lot of Android development. Haha!

Does anyone actually use the searchbar on StackOverflow? All these years of development and I still haven't used it.

I don't know how many of you here will understand/feel what I feel but here goes nothing

I'm the kind of person who's very calm and like sitting and talking to a friend over using a mobile phone or something. I mean, it's not like I don't use mobile phones at all but yeah.
At this point, I think my smartphone is just a waste of time. Whenever I'm bored or feel lazy, the first thing I do is unlock my phone and randomly see something online. Even though I have nothing important. I feel like it's almost cutting me off from the real world. Maybe in that time, instead of using the mobile for nothing, I could go talk to someone, go for a walk, exercise, think, etc. I even see group of friends sitting in a circle, but no one's talking. Only using their phones.
And let alone socializing, I think you miss a lot of "me" time as well (oh I like meditation and shit haha).

I'm thinking of switching to a non-smartphone. But still we are developers/engineers/designers, and for us to stay away from technology is not easy when we're the ones making it. I love what I do but at the same time I also want feel life.

Hey guys, I created this application for Linux users that lets you download and install multiple essential softwares/tools at once. It's something like Ninite (in Windows) but for Linux. So I called it Linite! It's still new, so it doesn't support many distros yet.

Now, I know there are many package managers and stuff, but I just wanted to make something really simple/basic and user friendly that can help even new Linux users. I was learning Python so I just thought it'd be nice to do some project.

Anyone with 2 monitors (or more) with laptop as the primary source. How did you connect everything together? Also, I use Linux (Antergos)

I bought 2 monitors. I was able to connect one of them to my laptop with HDMI. Now, my laptop only has one HDMI and no VGA. So I can't really figure how to use 2 monitors with my laptop (also extending it and not duplicating screens).

I've come across HDMI splitter. But I don't if it allows extending screens

So I've decided to try and switch my complete development environment to Ubuntu from Windows. I've used Ubuntu before but just for general use. Excited :D

Any essentials or anything to get?

Me and my family had gone to Paris and Switzerland for vacation. We took alotta photos, there's was about 10GB worth photos in our iPad. The iPad was not working properly, so I backed up the photos to my laptop and gave the iPad for formatting.

Unfortunately, one fine day, my laptop shut down and never switched on again (long story short). We gave it for fixing, but it's still not fixed.
And so we lost all our photos, now there's no proof that we went to to those places 😆

Not the first I used a computer, but I remember playing this game called Dave. Oh god, brings back memories. My parents used to tell me it's virus. 😂

Just need a bit of advice here.

Background: I'm good with backend web development. Won't say I'm really good, but yeah, I've done it quite a bit and built few sites locally.

At this point, I wanna know if I should continue learning and get really good with PHP (maybe get certifications). Or, start learning Python and try frameworks like Django or Flask. Also, this coming summer, I wanna do some kinda internship but before that I need to be good with something.

Some advice would help :D

What benefits do Linux OSs give that many developers use it? Don't get me wrong, I like the distros out there. I've used some of them. Other than the server related stuff, what benefits does it have for devs?

I can think of the terminal as one.
