Bullshit. You're not using my personal information for customer service, otherwise your call center wouldn't suck so badly.3 -

There’s a junior on my team, who has an ego problem.
Within 6-8 months, they have not progressed much, up to the point they still struggle with language and framework syntax.
Yet, they want to get the credit for doing big and important tasks, the ones they have no clue at all how to execute.
Our team tried to break more the tasks and tickets almost to the point of a tutorial. Junior got upset and complained that they did not want the tasks to be broken for them.
If we give space, tasks take forever to get completed. If we try to pair, Junior does everything in their power to cut the meeting short and again take forever to complete anything.
If we prioritize our own tasks, Junior complains that nobody pairs/assist them.
Took one for the team and started to work on finding ways to get this wonderful person to learn. Junior does not learn. In fact, almost feels like things enter from one ear and leave from the other instantly. Despite being repeated multiple times. Chewed. Presented in all sorts of way. You name it, I’ve tried.
Yesterday was the last drop. They fucking rolled their eyes while was explaining something.
This person is dead for me and I will make my personal crusade to not go out of my tasks to help them.
Thanks for coming to my TED rant.6 -
My CS teacher uses html 4 spec that has shit like <strong> and <font size=5> and all sorts of inline garbage. She writes the tags in ALL CAPS and it honestly looks like SQL had a baby with brainfuck. I can't handle this shit anymore. She feels like she's apparently very good at programming and has just been promoted to the School's CS HOD (Head of Department). I have no idea what to do I go to school everyday having to face her mutilating my interest in programming. My peers are all incompetent and don't care at all. Don't get me started on how she writes Python. What the fk man.30

Today marks the third interview in a row that included an equality statement diluted to uselessness by liberal doublespeak.
I think I should write a real equality statement. One that doesn't dance around money.1 -

I started my first job in programming on Tuesday. I made a VPC using CDK in Typescript. Today, I deployed to production for the first time. Never felt so proud of myself. 😊4

Tried to impress the boss with my work ethic by staying late to install a new VoIP system. Wasn’t even part of my job description. A few days later I had a flat tire on the way to work. It took me a couple hours to get that taken care of. When I got to work, the boss told me I had to work 2 extra hours that week to make it up. I reminded him that I had worked overtime recently to install his new phone system. He said, “Doesn’t matter. You still need to make up the hours.”
From that moment on I never worked one second more for him than I had to. I quit less than a year into the job.13 -

Why is it that software has gotten so hardware heavy these days?
I get that some things require more ram, larger screen resolutions and games.
But even calculator apps are now in the hundreds of MB when the entire Microsoft office suite used to come on a couple of floppies.
Is it laziness and relying on ever higher level languages or is there some reason that stuff gets unnecessarily large now.14 -
If you ever get a chance to refactor a 5/6 years old code , just do it .
Dont loose hope , you'll eventually have a great time .
Its totally worth the effort and time . I learnt so many things. (still in the proccess)5 -
Fucking windows , everytime I come to use it for premiere pro and every fucking time it manages to disappoint me and waste my time . It makes me a biased hater of it.
No BG process is running neither anything is copied from the external drive . Fucking trash OS.8 -
Nothing more unproductive than "productivity software". Preparing presentational slides endangers my good mood. Probably just do a website instead next time!1

Client wants some cool feature -> I spend a week coding it -> shit's cool -> client updates the design -> the feature is gone from the design
I still get paid by the hour but uhhhhhhhh it really makes me feel like my work is pointless.4 -
New types of calls. Team members need some help from me, I go on call to help them out, once the issue is fixed they just keep me on the call for company while they go about doing their tasks. Dude, even I've work to finish 😑2

It feels so good actually doing something that saves the company a buttload of money.
Just optimized some ML models. Now it costs a tenth of the money to run them :P2
