NEED HELP

An ant has entered my monitor and running all over the screen from inside. It's super irritating.
How can I get it out?

This is what happens when you sell to Microsoft. Karma is a bitch.
  • 10
@Stuxnet yup. Karma strikes hard. First day after MS acquisition and hard time already started..
  • 5
@Alice flies are still better than bugs.
  • 11
@Haxk20 it's a damn new monitor. And I have a great history of opening up things forever, without putting it back. So, not a good idea.
  • 43
Ive had the issue before. Put a teaspoon of sugar on a plate next to the monitor, other ants will find it and release pheromones which will attract that one to the sugar and lure it out.
  • 36
@Haxk20 I have to live rest of my life with an ant.
    *Poor soul*

Status changed from single to in relationship with an ant.
  • 4
@Alice didn't work. Tried with precautions without breaking the corners.
  • 25
@InterferenceObj Will try it out. I hope more ants don't come to take sugar and then go inside the monitor.

    De-bug it.

@github *Disclaimer: Use at your own risk.
  • 30
Antminer, everyone is doing BTC nowadays.
  • 18
Or you could just work with the ANT in your build.
  • 14
Or you could wait for the Wasp to come and rescue it

    Screen saver?
  • 17
Looks like you wrote a *sweet* piece of code.
  • 12
Or just let it be there. Ants work in coordination, maybe it coild help you track other bugs
  • 3
@debuggingDuck Ants will attract more bugs.
  • 16
    Have you tried sudo, though?
  • 11
    Or maybe call python?
  • 13
There is probably an npm module for this
  • 3
    Debugging lol
  • 5
    @debuggingDuck damn, dude! You’re on a pun-spree!
  • 5
Sounds like a :wq joke :D
  • 3
    How did it get in???
  • 12
Entered this post for the replies. Was not dissapointed.
  • 3
@j4cobgarby I don't know. May be Ant-sshing. I have to spend this weekend debugging it and hopefully I can resolve it before escalating to some expertee.
  • 14
Easy. Play this anteater gif for a while. It'll scare the hell out of it
  • 7
Just kill Ant.exe in the Taskmanager
  • 12
EVERYBODY knows ants can't swim. Let that sink in.
  • 5
    Grab the flemmenwerfer
  • 3
So @github runs into problem after the ant acquired it's views.
  • 4
Place it on a small table.

Surround it with ant bait like sugar or any sweet things ant like.

Do something to prevent other ants coming for the bait. Either surround the bait with salt or water. Or place table legs inside water cups. Etc.

Wait till the ant come out to the bait.

    🤔 Good luck

    bugs...

(Sorry if someone already used this joke, just cannot be bothered to read)
  • 2
If you wan't to kill the ant, just try a hair dryer.

I mean JerryRigEverything used to test Smartphones with a lighter and they still worked afterwards. (But don't do that to a monitor because of the plastic coverage.)
  • 3
    call ant-man 😂😂😂
  • 9
use it like a dev duck... or if u want...
    dev ant!
  • 3
If it got itself in, it will get itself out. Leave a cookie or something next to the moniter and see if it manages to get to it.
  • 2
Use this to give him some friends and Then destroy em all

teach ant also to contribute in your task while residing on your monitor screen!!
  • 1
    Here's a hint.
Modern monitors don't have spaces that can fit ants in them
  • 3
Have you tried "ant clean" yet?
  • 5
    @dontPanic Can't help it, it's a rANT.
  • 4
Have you tried to turn it off and on again?
  • 1
So... your monitor has a bug!

    Make it pay rent
  • 2
Oh Rest In Led monitor ant it's peaceful there@Alice
  • 2
Have you tried switching things up to MAVEN instead? 🤓
  • 2
Play disco videos with irritating lights
  • 6
Don't kill the ant! She might be like King Solomon's bee... Let her live and she'll show you where are the bugs in your code.
  • 1
Put a little sugar water below the monitor. Maybe the ant will pick up its scent and walk towards it?
  • 2
There is a bug in your workspace really 😂😂😅
I suggest you should debug your monitor.
  • 3
    Your monitor is literally bugged

@github I've got similar issue few years ago - a little flies get beetween lcd and front layer of screen. You can try to take off screen cover (plastic only) and set a bright light lamp which points to matrics from left / right side and leave it on 1 or 2h. It should help :)
My 'little zoo' unfortunately died from the heat and I've got few 'dead pixels' now :D
  • 3
    @BuggedDebugger dead pixels... 😱😨
  • 3
    Write a bug report

Thanks everyone for tons of solutions.

I haven't seen the ANT recently anymore.

To curious ones who wants to what I did to resolve it....

TURNED MONITOR OFF AND TURNED IT ON NEXT DAY

    It worked.
  • 3
@github glad my solution has worked for you.
"Oh, hey, are you willing to answer some questions about our customer service and your happiness level? Then press 1 and you will be called back by our robots right after you stop this conversation. Press 9 to cancel the questionnaire."
    Have a nice day.
  • 2
    @xewl hahaha...
    Pressed 2
    **Why isn't anything happening**
    (response from a dumb client)
  • 2
We're sorry the instructions were not clear to you, @github.

May I lessen the burn, by stating the fact that IT DOESN'T MATTER!

    Have a nice day!

@antorqs last thing you want to do is entertain the ant and prolong its visit.

Easy solution. Take the entire machine and set it on fire.
