I am writing a graphics library for low power small memory footprint micro controllers to implement pebble watch like vector animations ( gif shows what i am trying to implement)
But I couldn’t find time 😔5
Making my own game console.
I work with FPGAs and have access to a bunch of pretty nice dev boards, so building a workable CPU and GPU is definitely possible. I even have architectures for both in mind, and have planned ways to get compiler support (i.e. just use RISC-V as the ISA as much as possible so that I can reuse an existing RISC-V compiler with minimal changes) so that I don't need to write assembly.
But, lack of time. Sigh.3
Bipp — the CSS file that you include and your raw HTML instantly looks good, with animations and stuff. Already did v1 alpha, but Iwant to work on it more to grow it into Bipp UI and add UI components such as tabs, sliders and other common things.
Noo — the ultimately secure password manager that syncs your passwords across unlimited device without any kind of network connection. Noo cannot be compromised without the attacker having full access to your browser or your computer. Already made it, just didn't launch it yet.
Hazmat — the browser extension that blocks subreddits from what you see on reddit. Again, made it together with Floyd, but never released it because I deleted my reddit account halfway through because I never even really was using it as it's nothing but toxic wasteland.
Also, I want to explore WebRTC. I want to make p2p video calls and file sharing app.19
I haven't started yet, but I will start with a small and simple operating system for microcontrollers written in C++.5
QA personal voice assistant that runs locally without cloud, it’s like never ending project. I look at it from time to time and time pass by. Chat bots arrived, some decent voice algorithms appeared. There is less and less stuff to code since people progress in that area a lot.
I want to save notes using voice, search trough them, hear them, find some stuff in public data sources like wikipedia and also hear that stuff without using hands, read news articles and stuff like that.
I want to spend, more time for math and core algorithms related to machine learning and deep learning.
Problem is once I remember how basic network layers, error correction algorithms work or how particular deep learning algorithm is constructed and why is that, it’s already a week passed and I don’t remember where I started.
I did it couple of times already and every time I remember more then before but understanding core requires me sitting down with pen and paper and math problems and I don’t have time for that.
Now when I’m thinking about it - maybe I should write it somewhere in organized way. Get back to blogging and write articles about what I learned. This would require two times the time but maybe it would help to not forget.
I’m mostly interested in nlp, tts, stt. Wavenet, tacotron, bert, roberta, sentiment analysis, graphs and qa stuff. And now crystallography cause crystals are just organized graphs in 3d.
Well maybe if I’m lucky I retire in the next decade or at least take a year or two years off to have plenty of time to finish this project.
TAP - The Art Project.
Started in my college, been working on it for nearly a decade now and during the pandemic I was able to find co-founders and we built an amazing MVP.
But now I got busy with my new job, which is super fun, tech guy got married lol and design guy is little lost.
But over the years, experimenting with people, ideas, and everything around, my idea evolved into something which is loved by everyone I shared it and I can see a huge potential in it.
But meh! Fuck it. Because I am too bored and would rather order a practice pad and start learning to play drums (my childhood dreams), attend more gigs, and live a happier life.
Because the heart wants what the heart wants :)
For the curious ones, you can test the MVP at https://www.tap.prismo.net
And there are few other side projects that I completed which can be found on my portfolio page
I am just wondering shall I redirect my main URL to my portfolio page or keep it pointed to TAP?9
Languages as women in your life
1) Python's the Girl Friend
2) Java is the Wife/Long term Partner
3) JS is just on Acid. I don't fuck with her..
C++ is for Wifey for the ones with OCDs
P.S : I know how OCDs get. My heart goes out to these people. This is just some frivolous fun18
All of them lol
I'm working on my own streaming service. Yes, I know plex a thing but I've had issues with it and I'm honestly doing this more for the fun of it.
When it's ready, I'll run two versions. One that'll use to access my stuff outside my network, Plex style and one that hosts old movies that are now in the public domain. I'll use that one for demonstrative purposes5
I wanna work on small video games more. I thought of joining some small game jams so that I would have to finish a project within a weekend or so, but I don't really have time to dedicate a weekend for that.
And every time I do have enough free time for these things, my motivation drops to 0....6
On the kernel/os project I'm working on with @SoldierOfCode.
It's a side project but I *need* to refactor the normal text based functions to vga graphics compatibility.3
It's more of a learning project than something I plan to actually use for anything, but after playing a few classic SNES-era RPGs, I started writing a simple turn-based battle system. I haven't worked on it in ages and would love to get back to it, maybe even turn it into a whole game some day.2
back in college i started a project to manage my MTG and YuGiOh cards. I wanted to have a database for them with a graphical manager (already some older ones on github but i don't like the feel of them).
But between college work, the difficulty of building a SQL database schema for them and the fact I had hundreds of cards I'd need to put into the database manually I dropped the project after the 2 friends working with me also dropped out of the project.
But recently I found this hackster project (https://hackster.io/mportatoes/...), and i'm mostly sure I could retrofit it to use opencv to at least read the card title reliably allowing me to scrape the rest of the information from some wikia page as a new card is scanned. I'd just have to pick up a bin of legos at walmart lol
And previously learned about mongodb which would make storing the cards ina DB a lot easier than dealing with SQL.
I might pick this back up again, but when I first started I had 2 friends working on it with me who both dropped out before I finally gave up, so starting by myself might be a little demotivating.
1) Learning to make Android games with Godot3. Really awesome engine to do this. I was impressed when I found out it can use adb to deploy to my phone directly.
2) A sort of a modular multiplatform backup service with optional on the fly encryption/decryption and available for all devices
I want to make a game that collects a lot of questions for reuse and where players answer these one after another to make up the most dumb funny stories. Alas, it's in planning stage now.
It's a 2D 8-bit-/retro-style platformer based on Warframe
I made the game engine (Dethsquare) for it myself (which is probably still my biggest programming achievement so far), since when I started working on it Unity's 2D support was...lacking1
Would like to try realizing a game idea or two I've had a while ago.
I'd also like to put some more work into that webapp I built last year.
Then there's a couple old projects that never went anywhere but I could polish them up a bit.
Kinda want to learn some new languages and CG and digital art and finish 7 online courses I bought years ago.
There's just not enough time in the day.1
My new website and All Contributors projects.
I wish I didn't have to spend time house hunting and dealing with my current flat's issues.6
Started a SIP / VoIP application in Erlang last year, no time to do it now because I'm so busy doing company's project ... 😭
Wrong place. . But ama rant
I think having a girlfriend and being a senior software engineer dont go together.
For the past 3 weeks I have a very terrible week product luanch after product luanch. . To top it up all product promotions keep coming left right center then you also need to support some system you wrote many many years ago because the company does want to hire support engineers. You go to office at 8am and leave 7pm some times 9 in the afternoon . There is no time to see your see your gf and weekends, its either you are working on some thing random. Try to explain that to her.. all she see are excuses not be with her. The moment I try to be unemployed I doubt if she can stay9
Just any of them really. I'm great at starting side projects, but the "work more" thing is constantly an issue
Perfect my script to automate YouTube videos to tiktok. The script would take a YouTube url as input and then split the video into 3 minute long pieces ( the longest time allowed for tiktok ) and post it to tiktok. I’ve gotten it before but I had to do some fucked shit bc I couldn’t get puppeteer to bypass tiktok’s bot security so it’s super inconsistent1
I want to finish it so badly. I have everything I just need time.
Every time I see the code I wanna dance. I want to work on that so much but I haven't in a long time, I want to refactor everything (I've changed a lot in that time), it will be so delicious.
If you are curious about them you can see them in my github account.
And of course the rest but with these I'd be so satisfied.
