My favourite non-dev hobby: Waste time watching Youtube videos...

As a PhD student, I do not dare have hobbies. I mean, I don't exactly have time for it. I could make time for it, but then the phd would take forever.

RC racing

Playing guitar and bass is one of my biggest, also weight lifting and videogames. I have not had much time to read books recently, but I do try and keep up with the novels that interest me from time to time.
The rest of my time is spent with my family. I also like going to my friend's ranch to fish and shoot at things. I love ranching, because, well... Texas.

Making coffee

I've now got an electric coffee grinder at the office and I regularly make some specialty coffee with a V60 here

Soon I will be known as «the coffee guy»

Doing nothing, sleeping 😌😴

Anger management cooking.

Joke aside, I mostly have no clue what I'm doing.

Cooking and gardening (sadly no longer a possibility) are two thing where my brain goes out and I just do it.

It has happened more than once that this has failed... But most of the time it goes surprisingly well.

I'm absolutely not an accurate or refined cook.

I hate cutting stuff "even sized"… I hate when it looks perfect. I hate swiping off drops of the plate so it looks more refined....

So yeah, it might look like puke. But it's tasty. XD

Scouting.
I've been a scout since I was 7 and been happy for it.

Trolling, music, guitar, thinking about things, looking for a girlfriend, ... but yeah, mostly trolling.

Does soft-bricking my PC with broken MBRs count?

Otherwise, to stay fit I like to walk/hike. Hate any kind of exercise, unfortunately, but found a way to stay relatively fit by just going walking regularly

I wanted to say drawing, but whenever I feel like it, it's because I have a standup meeting in an hour. Does a coping mechanism qualify as a hobby? 🤪 If not, then analog photography.

I used to play on an electric guitar which I was trusted to store after the original owner emigrated, now that I left as well I'm out of a hobby.

I have an ever-extending list of small luxuries I plan to buy once I have stable disposable income, the first item is a stratocaster with an amp.

Muay Thai, Hockey, farming, meditating, journaling, gym, running

Music producing, working out, gaming, clothing to some degree and a moderated interest in good whiskey especially the Japanese brands
