Friday Eve: Closing eclipse project happily at work. Everything works sorta fine.

@dfox just a UI fix, on your notif's can we have an option to slide the notif left or right to acknowledge and clear the notif without physically having to go to it to clear it?

As much as we love to complain about our PMs and coworkers, I feel blessed to be in a field where after working all day, I enjoy what I do so much I come home and work on my own projects. Who's with me?

When you suddenly come up up with the solution to a problem you've been struggling with the whole day and realize that you're in a parent-meeting at your kids school.

I love meetings I got a valid reason to skip. Like today I got to skip standup and department meetings because I had actual work to do.

Don't you just love it when there is no formal spec. you get a few mspaint slides and told a delivery date, scope and slides are changed by management weekly, not necessarily informing you of it. Then when your failing, deadlines pass you by you still have no clear spec 2 weeks before release, partial backend because core business devs are busy doing support on the legacy systems. No frontend cause it's been changed, redesigned and you've been forced to change frameworks and technology so many times due to corporate policy and legacy systems with another dev group holding your balls with what they allow you to do and use. Id complain but at least we've been told to be agile. This is my life now, we lost all hope and stopped caring. And management wonders why the deadlines and estimates are all off.

Being support Dev is like cleaning up someone else's shit.

It's great when the whole team is waiting for you and stare at you as soon as you step in.
It's even better when you realize they were just messing with you.

Non develpers often think that Java and JavaScript are related. After being forced to work with both I started agreeing. Clearly the share the podium for being some of the worst crap ever created by a computer scientist

Currently being paid full consultant salary to watch printer software install itself. This is exactly what I hoped to do when I started my company.. At least the money is good.

My favorite thing about completing a project is closing a bazillion browser tabs.
