Sometimes, I think Android Studio is using my resources to actually mine bitcoins whenever there's a grade build.2

#AndroidDev protip:
1. Dump Android Studio and use Sublime for a week
2. Realize you don't actually know how to write java anymore

Android development sucks:
https://google.com/amp/s/...
I told my uncle(Android fan) that I was pretty excited about the iphone SE2 being talked about since it was one of the last iPhones that I really liked, the form factor of the 5s was perfect for me. And even though I am using an s9 right now, I really dislike having a phone whose development workflow was such a pain in the ass to me(i was an android dev for a good while back) and how I always enjoyed ios dev more. It has always been funny to me since I love Java and thought Android development would be fun.
The people that know me here also know that I don't shit on tech, for me to dislike something It really needs to bother me.
I
Hate
Android
Development
And I love seeing other professionals agree with me. I really do, specially for the very same technical issues that I complained about at one point or another.
Check the article if you want to have a quick read regarding proper technical reasons as to why one might dislike development on Android products.5 -

Got a job offer as an Android Dev, signed the contract, while signing employer asked me if i am a mac or pc user. A day before my joining date got an email from him asking me to bring my mac with me on my first day. Turns out he won't be providing me with a machine to work on :).5 -

I don't know if it's only me or if anyone have experienced that sometimes, when my code is not doing what I expected it to do, then I add a log.d to debug what's happening.Then.. It magically fix the program, without me fixing it...Weird3

Help needed.
I got a job offer from a good company and the pay is good. Plus, a major stake of the company was bought by a tech giant few days back and I think it's gonna be a great head-start for my career. The problem is the location is in Mumbai, India, and I really doubt I can live there on my own. I don't personally like the place (though I might have some misconception about it). What should I do? Join and pray everything goes alright or skip and wait for the next adventure?6 -
Q: Has anyone heard anything about Google leaving Kotlin and Java behind to use C# for Android development?
I was talking to someone who told me this yesterday. Of course I dnt believe it, nor can I find anything on that BS he was feeding me.
That whole-ass 1 hour convo was BS from start to finish.
There was more crap said, but I’ll spear you all the details. I just need to know if this is even remotely true. I’m sure it’s not, but he’s convinced it is. 🙄13 -

Freelancing as Android developer for a year now. Before that I was programming for myself in C, Java and Python for 2 years. Thought about getting a parttime job as android dev in a company for a stable income stream, I never worked in a company before. What does a Company see as Senior and what as Junior? Where do I belong to? I got pretty good references and reviews, made this year 20+ Projects, but some extra income and extra experience wouldnt be bad2

Till now I thought that android RTL support meant screen coming out from right to left or something like that. Not anymore!
