We recently took over development of an app. Upon inspection the API had no security, and passwords were stored in plain text. While the manager was slightly concerned, it wasn't a big deal....

That was until, using only a browser, I found the bosses account and personal email address.

Minutes later I was in his gmail, Facebook and credit cards account.

Improving security is now concern #1, and my boss is "suffering" 2 factor authy on everything.

Why Gmail. Why the fuck do your search parameters, especially your date filters, not work anywhere near as expected.

TLDR: I wanted to change email to new one, but I could not remember which one I have
currently. I found out an API in DevRant JS files for email verification and used
it to find it out.

So, I am moving from Gmail to Protonmail Pro, absolutely love their service.
I wanted to do same on Devrant but I could not figure out my current mail for
"I lost my password" form. My Password Manager have only login saved, and profile does
not show email address.

I thought that this user information is stored on server so it have to be some way to retrieve it. I dug
in source code and I've found:

Which has event assigned to function which uses jQuery.ajax (love it btw :D) to call:

Got it :) So I have already changed in march when DevRant on previous layout.

This is what I love in this profession - problem solving. AI will not replace human
in any way, we will just stop coding array iterations and data manipulation - we will focus
on real problem solving and human touch (like design, convincing management for changes).

Wrote a script for mail merge with app script works flawless on my account, then that shit gives message blocked error with the clients account.

So Google’s Gemini API challenge is currently ongoing and I am looking for idea suggestions.

- The goal is to create an AI enabled platform for web or mobile with Gemini API integration.
- The idea is expected to be unique or creative (unique ideas are favored so I heard)
- I found out the last winner of Google’s Dialogflow competition created a Mobile app for the elderly that provides screen flow guide on usage of some of Google’s product (ie: Youtube, Gmail, Drive etc.). This is just an idea guide and I see why such would win. It’s not a must requirement.

The final code will be open source and surely would credit the original idea owner. I need your ideas fellow devranters. What AI enabled app do you think have the best chance of winning this challenge? I have some time to spare on this one.

Why the GMail API docs and example were sucks, thats totally not cool! Yeah I need your API right now, but wtf is this docs, its so fcuking ugly. Even my swagger generated docs much better than this... Arrrrghh!

What's the point of the Gmail API if you can do all of its functions with IMAP or POP3 and not have to have user login oauth, just account and password?

I wanted to read a company email account for certain emails related to our tickets. No one actually accesses this account, and the tool is without a GUI. As such, I can't use the Gmail API. I just remembered there must be a more ordinary way to do this because how does Outlook and other email software work? So python import imaplib and I was done in a few minutes.

why google???? I mean how hard for them to update a reference document. The reference of gmail api for python2 and python2 is in EOL. The first error I found for python3 is reported in 2015 on GitHub and now is 2019. I mean, seriously the bigB_Company don't have time to update their document. I scratched my head for an hour, what the fuck did goes wrong.
