I had to bite my tongue today when the MD and my colleague started to have a conversation about remote working "not working". It doesn't ******* work if you sit at your mom's kitchen table, cramped around "the team" while all using laptops without additional monitors.... yeah sure, my 3 monitors, large desk, peace and quiet and the ability to go to the bathroom without a security card "doesn't work" and is such a bad environment to get stuff done. I remember when this person I worked for suggested all the engineers get on a day long call with the product owner pointing out problems and the engineers fixing them on the call. It was absolute chaos when i told my team 😂
Has anyone else ever encountered such??4 -
I can't believe he chose the kid over me.
My boss decided he needs a new team leader, (he led it till now) at start he said none of the team members fit one guy is new, the other is young and this his it's first job after college.
After weeks dragging us, he chose the kid over me.
I am more experienced then him (10 years in the industry) and led the team most of the time.
As "consolation prize" he let me chose a professional course of my choice.
I am so disappointed from his choice and from myself, I just feel like drop it all off and go somewhere else.
I am 3 years there, and people are like "how can it be? You're one of the veterans in the company."
So embarrassing.
Should I stay or should I go
Thanks for reading this long rent.1 -
How would you call this role? Product Owner? Graphics Designer?, Both? Neither?
I work for a small startup besides university and we do need a person responsible for how site looks. But then again we also need a product owner for the frontend. So why not combine these roles? A person who's responsable as product owner for all the frontend related bits plus does the designing. Initially this person would work with just one frontend dev, possibly more over time.
Question:
- How would you call this role/job?
- What would be an appropriate salary?
- How would you evaluate an application to this role?3 -
Help!
Anyone familiar with the culture/environment over at NCR?
I have a job offer from them but am a little worried because I have worked mainly in smaller startups my whole career.
Am I going to end up wanting to kill myself after 6 months if I take this job?
