Who’s better at releasing unfinished/half baked projects that are eventually killed in the span of 5 years or less?

In this corner, weighing in at 264 killed projects, undefeated in search engine industry - Google!
And, in this corner, weighing in at 73 killed projects, the murdered of Nokia, Windows RT and soon to (probably) be Surface Duo and Windows 11 on ARM - Microsoft!

I personally think it’s Microsoft - when they do, they kill it in a spectacular way.

More an opinion here, feel free to disagree and explain why...

The Surface Pro X has me excited but really angry at the same time for the same reason. The fact we are seeing a flagship consumer grade ARM based computer being pushed out by such a massive company is amazing, I personally hope that ARM takes over x86 and hope this might encourage people to look at ARM as a legitimate platform to develop for and hope it also bleeds into the Linux world (sick of only finding distributions designed for servers).

But I am annoyed because it's being treated as just another computer and no one is actually looking at the bigger picture with an open mind, plus it's also more than likely going to be treated as an after thought rather than looked at like a legitimate project.

The Surface RT failed because of the lack of apps available. At least that’s what I heard.

Why didn’t Microsoft make a x86 compatibility emulator like Apple did when they were moving away from the PowerPC architecture?

Sure x86 apps would be slower, but if they distributed the ARM version of windows as well, made it available for the Raspberry Pi and all sorts of devices, I fell that would be a huge drive from ARM based processors.

The DirectX, Windows forms..etc. libraries could be recompiled by Microsoft, which would make graphically intensive programs run faster too. Did Microsoft just not think of a compatibility layer? Or is there some obvious reason I’m missing?

-Dude where is Jim at ? It shouldn't be that hard to get 3 cups of coffee from just a few blocks away.

His sentence got cut off by the sudden impact with a metal surface at high velocity. He got hit by a car while he was crossing the street, too deep in thought to notice the speeding car in time.
After hitting Jim the car suddenly come to a halt with a screech noise from it's tires.
But it was too late the impact shattered his lower spine. Leaving a blodied body on the ground. Coffee from the smashed cups merged with his blood. Little did anyone know that day would be the birth of a new hero.

Well this year ARM Surface such a disappointment. And I already saw this coming,

The original IPad was price $499 from the start. The Surface Pro X should compete the ChromeBook not Ipad
Which is obviously don't even have a chance.

+ Microsoft not create perfect hardware to make sure our app get to more consumers (the Pro X is failure)

the Windows 10 optimization is joke, all my surface laptop, pro, book I have tested. They claim that consume less Ram, but when using it along side electron and Win32 app. It feel so much choppy and lag. I mean WTF ?
UWP was made for optimize low specs SoC such as ARM base, now my laptop running on a core I5 + GPU still lag ??
I'm sorry but this is just sad. Im moving back to win32. WinRT sooner or later will end supported
And Microsoft will improve the Win32 Api
