I know its 1999... but who called their website a WWWebsite.

This was my school's website in 1999. They didn't stop calling it a wwwebsite until 2002.

on some of the later versions of the site(2000+) they were proud of the "little bit of Java and Shockwave" - (School Website) on their site

A million years ago I used and loved a WM called waimea. I used it extensively, and even used it on my work machine. It was abandoned by its author for whatever reason, in 2004. I used a derivative wm for a while, called kahakai and loved that too. Since that time, everything has gone from 32bit to 64, and waimea got buried in the past.

Fast forward to this past weekend, when I discovered, on a whim, that there is an AUR for waimea! There was not one for kahakai though-- that appears to have been genuinely abandoned.

So I installed waimea and started working on configuring it, with only a man page and the wayback machine as a reference. As of a couple days into the effort, I'm not quite there yet, but I love the results so far.

Here is an idea.
What if web designers make their own portfolio with "The Wayback Machine"?

It is free, reliable, fast, and universal.

Ok so this jr dev at my office was working on a shopify site and didn't know if you edit menu items in a site copy it also affects the main site

then she freaked out like crazy because she didn't remember what the original header links looked like and me like a zodiac wizard
came in opened wayback machine then boom showed her the original site

I really don't like this trend of building command line applications for controlling some <buzzword> cloud app or <buzzword> framework.

Why should I need or want to learn the exact wording of your gcloud command, or the path to your Ng cli, or some ass-backwards AWS search syntax when I can get the same functionality from your web app, where I can use my FUCKING EYES to work out where the "Create Instance" button is and how to click it!!!??

Stop pushing your shitty python monolith of a client where possibilities for the above task range from:

I DON'T CARE. What is the point when I can use a proper programming language instead of bash, with actual code-completion and syntax rather than the horrendous excuse for a suggestion system that is the Tab key where it probably doesn't even work in the first place and I have to copy and paste some mysterious dbus command buried in an old documentation page on the Wayback Machine using a utility I don't have installed and a broken URL?

I recently worked on a small website for a nonprofit…and I unintentionally burned myself out. I enjoyed the work, but I obsessed over it and didn’t take enough breaks…

The organisation lost all their content because someone didn’t pay the host provider and the admin didn’t care to keep a backup…Wayback Machine to the rescue, I got 80% back, it’s just missing some photos. Then I migrated the static WP files to a Nuxt app.
