I am working with Apache Spark on Scala for my undergrad research. It got me thinking: what is Scala used for beside doing stuff with Spark?
Not sure whether it's just me but most posts talking about Scala seem to always mention Spark. -
I'm going to Texas in a few months for an international competition. What are some do-s and don't-s in Texas (or USA in general)?8

Had to work with SoapUI and accidentally taught myself Groovy.
I found Groovy a very nice language to work with. I've always wanted to do things with the JVM but still don't fully comprehend Java's OOP and stuffs. In which domain is Groovy used widely or intensively? Would anyone recommend me to learn it further?5 -

We're going to help raising IT-literacy level by teaching high school students basic programming with Scratch or Python. Is that too much? Should we just start with teaching Ms. Office instead? Or do you guys have any opinion?4 -
In database course we should be thaught "database", not "MySQL"
In object-oriented programming course we should be thaught "object-oriented programming", not "Java"
And so on and so forth8 -
Anyone here remembers DemonStar, the space shooter? Back when my aunt lived in our home (i was around three or four years old then, i think), we used to play single player together. She would press arrow button and i would press Ctrl button.

Having to fill skills field in my internship CV suddenly makes me realize that i actually am not really good at anything.
Some friends say that i'm a can-do-it-all person when i actually just learn how to do what i need to do on the spot.3 -
Last night i ran my code, it worked. This morning i ran, it didn't.
I'm starting to doubt that my computer is a deterministic system.1
