@dfox Another bug.
Sometimes when i double click on a rant to ++ it, it opens it twice instead (i have to press back twice to get to feed).12 -
I worked at a place where the help desk guys did the good ol' "I'll send an email from your laptop if you walk away without locking it and tell everyone lunch is on you" routine. After it happened to me about 3 times I was like, "I gotta get this help desk prick back!" So after several failed attempts at walking by his pc when he walked away it instantly hit me how I can punk him back.....SO, I logged onto SQL Server, clicked open a new query window and typed up a dbmail command and on the @from parameter I set it to the help desk guy's email address. His face was PRICELESS when I was shooting off emails to the entire IT dept on behalf of him WHILE he was sitting in front of his PC. Lesson is: don't fuck with dev help desk dude! 😎😜2

A Fellow Ranter said I should introduce myself, so here I go.
Me = {
Gender = "Male",
CodeOfChoise = {"lua", "PHP"},
Age = "28"
Location = "404"
}
No really here we go, I am Rex, I am dyslexic and forget code really badly but it does not stop me from trying to have fun with some ideas, I use mostly PHP these days but when I want to make a quick windows tool I use a app called AMS or AutoPlayMedia Studios what as a nice lua scripting language back end.
I been coding on and off for many years since I was about 15 and I been in love with computers since I was about 6 (don't tell my wife).
So far I like the site, its better then Twitter and Facebook as it's code related and fun to read and some stuff gets the cogs a turning.
I don't have any real foot print in the dev world, I get by but I not here to be loved, or to be big in any field, I am here because I enjoy my tech.
I leave this little introduce me with a question, what was your first or first memorial computer.
Mine was the Acorn A4000 Mixed with parts from the A3000 and A5000's :) she was a little bit of a mix match.18 -
SAP GUI developer interview
Questions:
1. Can you design sites for IE 6?
2. Do you hate HTML5?
3. Do you love website design from the 1990's?
If you answered yes to all 3, congratulations you are hired.3 -
All of the questions I got from my co workers today could were solved by googling their error.
Now I question their ability to even use a computer.4 -

Taking "fixing a bug in your head once you walk away from the machine" to a new level.
Fixed a bug, checked it in. Happy.
Go to a meeting 5 minutes later. 10 minutes into the meeting have the sudden realisation that the bug fix was wrong and while it would fix the issue it would break something else.
Anxiously sit there for 50 more minutes not really paying attention because all I can think about is that sucker being auto deployed to our Dev server.
Managed to fix it and get it committed without anyone noticing but FML.2 -
I asked my friend at work who is the weirdest one?
He said it's me. 😱
Just kidding. 😁
I don't have any friends.

When me and my team put all efforts into making a functional app and the top 3 winners only had a PowerPoint with wireframes of their app.

All these people talking about learning to code at school makes me feel old. There wasn't even an option to learn programming when I was at school. Had to teach myself!4

When people write me at 5am on facebook, they think, how nice and organized my life is so I am getting up early. Truth is, I have not slept yet.4
