Already existing website, I was asked to do a few things to redo. Code is a mess, 0 comments, oldschool technology. Completely static html site of a small company, nothing extreme.

Client: okay, could you please add 2 more items to the navbar for the 2 new pages?
Me: yes, here they are. Since it was already full, font size had to shrink.
Client: it's okay

>> Fast forward 2 weeks, full of similarly easy modifications.

Client: could you make the font size of the navbar larger?
Me: not really, we will lose responsivity
Client: do it anyway!

>> Fast forward to next day
Client calls me that it is urgent to 'do something immediately' with the navbar because it is broken and I am a 'horrible webdesigner' for making a mess of her website. I was told that it is not her job to make it good look and that I should 'use my eyes better'.

After 2 minutes of a lecture on webdesign she let me tell her how a responsive website should look like and to achieve that we should better restart the whole website. At that point I was the idiot who just wants to get more money and that I won't be able to do that since I am already unable to finish these few tiny things she asked for.

Girlfriend asked me to take the spider out instead of killing it, i did! Really nice guy, bought me a beer and told me all about how he wanted to be a webdesigner 😏

-Hey highonsleep you a webdesigner, right?
Me: no, frontend dev.
-Yeah right my dad needs a new logo for his firm, can you do it? We can't pay right now but we'll give you lots of paid design work in the future and it'd be good for your portfolio.
Me: whatthefuckingfuckLOL. *Unfriend/block/delete/remove*

Made a Website.
What this friendly old Lady wanted: a update to her poem/song website that looked horrible.
What she got: A goddamn masterpiece considering there is NO backend and I got nearly no ressources to work with.
It took forever to put that stuff together since I thought I dont need any frameworks at all. I didnt know PHP at all back then, so I just went all out with everything that pure HTML and CSS could give me.
I even went outside to make nice photos to put into the Background.
....so, he said no PHP or anything? YES! If you wanna add content you change the HTML and upload stuff via Filezilla. I dont really want to see it ever again. But not because it looks bad.

I know, its not really coding since its HTML but I Count this!

There's this WebDesigner who wants every single website made pixel-perfect to his design.

We usually spend like 1 extra month on each website just because we can't do it pixel-perfect for each resolution

Now I'm working on yet another of his websites and his brother is beside me as a stagist

Am I allowed to insult the designer and swear against him every 5 minutes or so?

- local webdesigner in my neighbor city - for over a year now. They must be slower than me or plan a page that is complexer than the apple site.

Do I actually need this shit? I mean: really. Why?
If you relaunch, just leave your old one up. If you buy an domain and have nothing on it (and no google index) - who even bothers seeing this shit?

Not so long ago i met a webdesigner from one of my projects. Before that i did not know that Fonts like FontAwesome exist (except that crap default Font from MS). I was so happy, no more working / designing my applications with fucking images or other workarounds! THANK YOU

A guy (who is ending the same master degree as me) just launched his personal website saying he is webdesigner but used a very common bootstrap template. The future is good for this one 😂

As SysAdmin I did set up a server with WordPress, so that the external webdesigner create the templates and stuff and everything.
And they can't change the language of the backend.

Need some advice

Hey everyone! I'm just starting out in web design as a freelancer. What according to you is a good starting price I should charge a client?

I've got a client asking for prices and I'm not sure what to charge.
Any other tips would be appreciated :)
