A recruiter presented me to a Company for a 3 months Freelance Position. Unfortunatley I got rejected, however I kept Contact with the Company and i asked for a fulltime employment, they were fine with that and i got a tech Interview Next Week with them. Now my recruiter contacted me and Knew already about everything, they kept asking me what they should negotiate with them. I told them i will negotiate myself as I am looking forward to a full Time employment with them, they tell me it has to be under their name, eventhough it has nothing to do with the agreed freelancing position.. are they allowed to do that ?14

Can we just stop hating on some programming languages? What's the point? All languages have their pros and cons. Deal with it.20

Who is bored with their job?
Wish you had something more challenging other than the same drivel day in and day out? Wish you could learn new things or apply better technologies to existing solutions other than just trudging through each day?7 -
Scrum. And agile. And people over-communicating. And estimating work complexity on a prototype. And people in general. I like nights, when all annoying people just shut the fuck up and sleep.1

Do you guys also cant' stand it when you are forced to let someone explain something in a very basic manner to you when you already understand that topic very deeply?4

Our Adobe Illustrator teacher(he taught us a bit of Photoshop before), tasked us with entering a contest for a logo design. The company's name is synonymous to amber in my mother tongue, but instead of it doing something related to that they partnered with T.V. services etc and are doing things in the field. The limitation of the contest is that we have to use a specific color in the amber range(given with the CMYK and Pantone values), and if the design ends up a success, one gets nearly 500$.
I have an idea, but I don't know how I will be going about doing it. I'm not great at either design or drawing. My skills in drawing don't match up with my ideas...
I'll still try it.14 -
I hate seeing Bootstrap under "Required skills" for the front end jobs.
Why? Why is it REQUIRED? Why not "Bootstrap is a plus"?
I know HTML,CSS and JS well enough to be able to do anything without a framework.
I know it might be faster, but that's only is you want similar looking websites.
I'm sorry Bootstrap, it's not you, I'm just not ready to make a commitment yet.8 -
Does anyone else experience the excess knowledge crisis? Wherein you realise that there is so much knowledge out there that you don't know where to start, and the moment you start, you realise there is something new to learn and you instantly get distracted.8

Today let me see how much of a better HTML/CSS lecturer I had before. The new guy just does everything from W3Schools while the older one, after telling us the basics, just gave us .psd files and let us figure out what was what and we learned a lot from that.2

I have the absolute greatest and nicest front-end developer in the world.
Today I was being given all kinds of praise for putting something on a site that the client loved and it seems to be getting the conversions they want. I felt really bad taking the praise because I didn't design it. The front-end developer designed it for me and gave me a picture of what she thought the client wanted and I built it. So I passed on all the compliments to her and told her that everyone was super happy with it.
She accepted the thanks but then floored me telling me that she didn't feel like she did anything and that my job was more important. We started arguing about who was more important.
"I accept that your designs do nothing without my back-end code, but without your designs no one would ever use anything I made."
She responded by sending me a list of sites with terrible designs that people use daily. And continued to tell me how much more important back-end is than front end.
If she wasn't 1500 miles away I might have kissed her. I needed to hear that today.2
