We have fast hiring process consisting of 10 interviews, 5 coding assessments, 3 talks and finally you will meet the team and they will decide if you fit.

Not much changed in job hunting, taking my time to prepare to leetcode questions about graphs to get a job in which they will tell me to move button 1px to the left.

Need to make up some stories about how I was bad person at work and my boss was angry and told me to be better so I become better and we lived happy ever after. How I argued with coworkers but now I’m not arguing cause I can explain. How bad I was before and how good I am now. Cause you need to be a better person if you want to work in our happy creepy company.

Because you know… the tree of DOOM… The DOMs day.

I had 5 round of detailed technical interviews on java, springboot, React and Google Cloud.

Finally it seems they are going to make me an offer.
Last conversation was with the team I should work with.

They use dot.net, AWS and maybe maybe some angular.

I wann cry.
I'll say yes anyway.
Maybe the idea is to get some new perspective from me?
Or they want to be sure they will be better than me?

Or otherwise, fuck them?

2 pages of jibber jabber. But not a word about the software stack or even technologies used 😂

It's the opposite of where they ask you have experience with everything, I guess they found out that wasn't working either.

I did an interview last week.

Recruiter asks me about why I want to work for their company.

I'm too honest and tell them I mostly just don't want to work for my current company.

Next day get screened out despite being extremely qualified for the job.

Shouldn't have been so honest in that interview lol.

Doing a technical assessment. Slightly different stack than what I am used to!

- NGINX instead of Traefik
- Kubernetes instead of Docker Swarm

Just because the stack is different, anxiety / impostor syndrome is kicking in. I'm proud of myself for commanding my brain and body to execute:

- implement

The chemicals inside my body are all over the place. I really want to move out of my current job!!

Job hunting is hard!

I have over 10 years experience in software engineering. I do mostly full stack, so I can say I'm a jack of all trades and a language agnostic. I'd say I'm a good software engineer and will be able to tackle any task I've been assigned to. Having said that, my confidence in finding a new role is at an all time low.

I've been job hunting for 3-4 months now and so far I've only had 1 interview and it was unsuccessful. Now have been invited to a first round interview for another company (first of many rounds). It's going to involve many technical challenges like coding, algorithms and data structure and system designs.

In general I've had hardly any interviews (about 6-7 in total in my whole career). Due to my lack of interview experience, I've been getting anxiety especially now that the job market is tougher than it has ever been.

Firstly, how do you guys prepare, if at all? I feel like many of these interviews require you to be good at interviews, almost like an exam. If these questions were presented to me when I first came out of college, I would've had a better chance.

Secondly, how do you take rejections? I didn't know how painful it was to get rejected, regardless of how much I wanted the role.

I've been fortunate enough to still have my current job, but because of that I don't really have much time, nor the mental energy to study for interviews.

Looking for jobs be like:

Do you want to work 1.5hrs from where you currently live for only $5k more/year? Are you ok with like 2 holidays and only 5 days PTO?

How often do you go for an interview? A senior once told me to go for job interviews regularly to know where you stand. WDYT of this advice?

I always regret registering up myself to "techie job finder websites"... They are just so annoying with emails and calls, asking for more data asking for my time, faking how professional they are in finding you the right job... I think I will just do freelance besides my own personal project.

So a recruiter for a company has been contacting me on LinkedIn. I finished what they wanted me to finish.

The recruiter takes several days to get back to me about the assessment I submitted (using xunit which I have never used and learned specifically for this position). The manager over developers was the one who linked up with me on LinkedIn and I messaged them on LinkedIn and they got back with me super quick and said he received the assessment and was going to look over it when he has free time.

Was it the right move to message the developer manager and go over the recruiter for the same company? Or does that show that I’m showing initiative that I want the position for their entry level spot?

He seemed super thrilled that I submitted the assessment in a timely manner and even took a sneak peak at it before he actually dove right into it. I’m really wanting my first developer job.

Best place to get a job as a postgraduate fresher with a CS background?

Need Guidance and if possible referrals too...
