So when I joined this community, I was bit embarrassed because I am a tester and everyone around was a dev.
But I was wrong. I was welcomed here with a warm heart. I got love beyond expectations.
In those early days, all I wanted was enough votes so that I could afford my favourite t-shirt and matching shoes in avatar builder.
Not only I got those, but some free sticker swag and soon enough the squishy ball.
I made friends and I openly brag in public that I have some awesome friends from around the globe.
An angry yet down to earth German ranter.
The Pink Goddess.
The script master Brit.
The sysadmin enganeer from Belgium.
The account deleter from Australia.
Some awesome Muricans.
The privacy guy from the Netherlands.
Sysadmin from Sweden.
French, Swiss, Japanese, Indonesian, Burmese, Swedish, South Koreans, Middle Eastern, Fillipino, and even some fellow crazy Indians as well.
I am fucking proud to call you all my friends.
Upvotes hardly matter to me. Interaction is what I am here for. And you guys make me feel at home even though I am tester.
Founded the Team Raven and Lol club. The random mention activity was also fun.
But never did I thought I would reach the 4th top ranter position. Beating the master in his own game? Lol.
What next? I look forward to meet you all in real life. Thank you David and Tim.
Thank you devRant 😊95
My Ruby is not dead sticker.
Because I designed it after I got a very friendly offer from a big sticker printing company to get 50 of them for free. I was so fed up with people here repeating the "Ruby is dead" sentence to people who ask about learning Ruby, believing that's true without knowing the actual story behind this sentence, just because they read it at other places without understanding it.32
Spreading the word for https://ueberspace.de a sympathetic pay what you want Hoster with some some cool features :) and free sticker8
Obligatory DevRant sticker post. Cheers from Bulgaria, bowl of shkembe to scale.
I got 2 sets (one for free).
Now I need a place to stick'em.21
TLDR someone in my team took credit for work he didnt do;
I know teamwork is a good thing and when everyone does their share of the work, it is.
I submitted a computer science project to an event in the UK called the Big Bang fair, I was in a group of 3. We had been meeting every week after for the past 10 months. During these sessions me and uke have been meeting for 1h 30m where as oon could only meet for 1h because "he had stuff to do" and he never saw the point in staying longer. Oon had also been a massive distraction whilst the time he was there as he did no work and messed around on cookie clicker.
Anyway we found out last week that the Big Bang fair was coming very soon and we had not written a write up or done any preparation for the presentation we had to do. Me and uke set up a google doc and started adding stuff to it (as we only had a few days left at this point). Whereas oon did nothing.
I ended up staying up till 3am in the morning finalising the write up over the weekend with uke helping. We asked oon to help but he said he didnt want to stay up late so didnt help.
Then the most stressful 2 days come round. I devoted all of my free time towards the project, uke devoted most of his time and oon devoted 1 hour after school on one day. He said that he couldn't do one lunchtime but I found him in the ICT room playing games :/.
This didn't matter THAT much but what pissed me off is that he started boasting to all his friends about all the work I did and credited it as his own. At the actual event he said nothing during the presentation because he knew nothing about the project. HE DIDNT EITHER BOTHER TO READ THE WRITE UP HE WAS BOASTING ABOUT. What do people get out of taking credit for work other people did.
We didn't win anything and I wonder why
wow thanks for reading all this you deserve a sticker1
how to explain inflation to devRant buddies?
when you finally get 15 +1s only find out that it needs 20 to get free sticker 😭😭😭😭😭
how about one comment worth 3 +1s to encourage social communications 😂😂😂6
Got my stickers today. They look pretty sweet on my media laptop! Thanks guys for the free stuff!!!!2
So after a free DSOTM t-shirt from AliExpress seller (well, after the rant. I contacted the seller to pay the amount even though the size didn't fit, but stupid AliExpress refused to help and seller didn't respond), I now received the Guy Fawkes sticker after nearly 4 months.
Well, the sticker is flawless and the matte finish is fucking beyond imagination. Indians can never deliver this quality for the said price. NEVER.
This seller does respond so tomorrow I am contacting them again and paying the money which they had to refund because the protection time ran out.
I ofc don't want them to incur loss without reason as they have a family to feed. I hope this settles out smoothly.
I might donate the t-shirt as it came free so shall be given away for free. Anybody interested for a medium size t-shirt, hit me up. I haven't worn it.
Guy looks hot my laptop.58
I AM FUCKING DONE WITH THESE CHINESE SELLERS AND THEIR STUPID E-COMMERCE.
So after free t-shirt and sticker, I tried contacting the sellers and AliExpress.
The first seller never cared to respond and the second seller refuses to understand my concern.
I tried reaching AliExpress help and they ask me to contact seller to pay the refunded amount.
In both the cases, AliExpress did not really care for their sellers and asks me to quit altogether.
I tried to translate the message into Chinese so that they can understand what I am trying to tell.
But then AliExpress is acting stupid.
Well fuck you all then. I will keep the stuff for free.4
Would you rather get a sticker for free or help DevRant and buying in there store?
Personally I would rather help18
Exclusive DevRant tutorial.
How to make any sticker you want.
Double side glue tape;
If (paper != photography)
One side clear glue tape
Print the logos you want in a piece of paper.
You can use photographic plastic printer paper and only double tape, or for cheaper options simple paper covered with clear tape.
Cut your sticker and your done.
Unfortunately I can't cut straight.
This is a free to share tutorial, written for me to practice and for you to enjoy1
I don't get the sticker thing, do you get them for free or something? Because then if understand the hype3
