So a couple months ago, my dad called me to try and solve a problem he was having in his work.
You see, my dad owns a driving school and he was teaching 14 and 15yo kids how to ride mopeds and their theory exams are made in the school's facility, by going to this website of the entity that rules the moped teaching thing. When the time to have the exams came, they couldn't even see the exams and one of the kids had one of his attempts wasted (they had 3 attempts). We mailed and called the entity multiple times, to no avail, as they told us to "check the website, the instructions are all there". They were also trying to get it together but they couldn't. Here's the "funny" part: the software in which the exams were done ran on XP and there was no way in hell we could make it work on our W10 PCs. Not to mention this is a natiowide problem.
We reinstalled Java to v.7.9 (I think...?) as the "instructions" told us, with no results whatsoever.
So my dad decided to call me and asked me to bring a PC that didn't run W10. The closest thing to XP I could think of was my uncle's Toshiba, that had Vista, so I went to his house and grabbed it and drove to my dad's school. Even in compatibility mode, it didn't work. Everyone was in despair LoL. I was even put on the phone with the entity's technician, who didn't know how to solve it either but was trying, as well with our tech guy.
After a bit of running around and crying inside, our secretary remembered we still had a tower on site that ran XP. We went for the thing and connected it and booted it up. After reinstalling Java and setting security to "medium" (required), and meddling with zoom (the window was too small to show the whole exam and if the window showed up before we set the zoom to 75% or so we couldn't choose the answers) it was finally set to do the exams.
I've never felt so relieved for solving tech stuff LoL. It took me 3h to get it done and I feel it would have been easier if we had remembered about the tower earlier but oh well what can one do.

- FUCKING finish the google scholarship before time ends ._.

- build a home fileserver, like a own cloud, which can be accesed even further away (has any one some tips on how to do it? ^^)
- attach a gps tracker to my moped, which I can then see on a mobile app (because I don't want it to be stolen...)
- rebuild my homevillages website
- learn python
- replace my android Java with kotlin
- apply to an internship for a software design company
- more and more and more

Day started out great. In the middle of developing an app, we had to evacuate due to bomb threat, and now we're not allowed to go home. A moped with explosives, mixed with nails had been found. Fml

Left and right unite! I've spoken with a boomer today about politics and got triggered more about politics than ever before. I thought that I didn't care anymore. We have to do something about the boomer! That privileged by TWO parents raised wealthy boomer said that everything is alright. Dude, my generation is raised bad because two parents worked and the zoomer literally has no houses left to rent OR buy anymore and there are no plans building new ones at all. It's the biggest fuck you ever. If I were a zoomer I would've been blind from anger. Maybe that's why people die, their attitude makes us extinct at a certain point. He said that they don't deserve a house with their 24h working attitude. That's debatable but I think the zoomer is right, we work too much. When I had a family for a while I realized that. It's only alright to work full time if you're single and maybe in a relationship, but two parents nearly full time is too much. Not sure if the zoomer understand they but only wants to game even more but that's not the point. The work less attitude is a good thing, even I as workaholic agrees to that. I'm only workaholic because I don't have a life. I just realized that if you have a life, the amount we work is crazy. I really couldn't give the attention I wanted to the kiddo and partner.

So again, left and right, we're being distracted! Unite and GET THEM!

I swear to God, boomers would vote that if it existed under the idea of "Lives so good, it can be less, it's ok". He said before or after mentioning his two cars, moped, drone and bought house with quite a tummy. Caring about the climate but not about the children of tomorrow. The climate doesn't matter much anymore if people don't take kids anymore because it's too expensive, no place to live and not enough time to raise them. Also, kidding, they don't care about climate either. Totally blinded by the 70 years of perfect life.

I don't complain about life, but saying we're doing fine as a boomer, stfu! The milennials do also not have that much to complain, but the sooner, hell yes they have. Holy f. Why would you work at all if you can't get a place to live. Maybe this is the way we extinct. Egoism.

Hardware Developing.

My current school project where I build a gps thief lock for my moped had me realized one thing. I don't want to go into Hardware Developing. The first problem took me about 4 months until I finally gave up and solved it differently. And this goes on and on and on. You fixed something and the next day it doesn't work anymore for some reason. I never had this problem when coding. It's fun to do stuff with electronics but coding is just way more rewarding. Anyone else had the same experience?

maaan its such awkward, if you're chilling on a supermarket parking lot, with your 20mph moped drinking your one end of work beer and also have long hair and long beard 😂 im always thinking the people think im a homeless or something like that.. fml what a world

Fuck, the gas spring in my ergo knee stool at home has given up. Now it's in the lowest position, not that ergo anymore, which also tore the rubber gaiter on the spring piston. On top of that, the seat cover is so worn out that I had to duct tape it so that the filling doesn't crumble out too much.

That thing is 20 years old, and the manufacturer discontinued the product years ago. Buy a new one? Noooo. Modern quality would be worse. So I ordered a generic gas spring, let's see whether I can install it, plus a moped fork gaiter. And then hire some professional upholsterer to finally get a luxury leather cover.

That will likely still be cheaper than buying the closest modern product that is even in a similar class.
