When you build a website with full CMS and you end up taking care of the content because your client "just can't be bothered"...2

I am always shocked how many people at work are not able to use Google efficently. No matter if experienced developers or graduates. They are not able to limit search results to a certain period of time, search in certain pages, for certain file types and so on. EVERY FUCKING search result gets clicked, although you can already see in the preview that it's absolute crap and not relevant at all. I could cry sometimes and the worst part is, that many of them don't want any help or suggestions.10

Made a full restaurant web-booking system for a customer...
Customer is so low-tech and don't use it at all....just print all mails received without notifying anyone else :( -
Please don't create a test server that doesn't have the same data with the production server, and vice versa.2
-
Customers are so fucking stupid.
You're already on the page with a form with a "password" field and a fucking "save" button. WHY ARE YOU STILL ASKING ME HOW TO CHANGE YOUR FUCKING PASSWORD???
FUCKING STUPID CUSTOMER WHY DON'T YOUR FUCKING KILL YOURSELF???
FUCK!2 -
Got contacted for a job "interview" by a company because they were looking for "people with my skill set". All my profiles say I am a fullstack web dev with experience in frontend js frameworks and js and php backend frameworks.
Come in to find the "interview" is an exam. Ok, fine. My brain could do with some exercise.
After the basic IQ type questions, I get the web dev exam.
It is 95% of the questions are about CSS and HTML basics.
WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK.7 -
Go ahead and start programming says boss, we're 95% this project is happening. It's for sure...
3 months later it's cancelled and customer had no idea we were working on it.

participating at an coding challenge.
the mission is to write an game solver for an game engine - in java. based on astar, pathfinding should be made possible by cloning objects.
never seen a so hardly misconcepted challenge, where character instances and their variables are static and contain uncloneable data😂 oh god what a waste of time realizing this bs1 -
Working as an cooperative student in an big IT company. I shall continue the work of another student (Something in Frontend Visualization) for their Sharepoint sites.
The other student wrote a fucking 40 page university evaluation (requirements, first architecture and sl on) about the concept of this project and did not have the time to implement it.
But instead of giving me this research paper, my advisors say “Be creative and don’t use this work. Do it by your own.”
wtf? Why has this student even done all of this work and why do I have to waste many hours in order to begin everything from day zero??2 -
When you spend all afternoon correcting a layout issue only to find the problem was Chromes Super Cache!!!2

When a fellow Software Engineering student needs help from the teacher, to download and install a simple program during a lecture... really?? 😐2

Crying right now. Tldr, feature demanded, never used. 8 months ago, bosses demand two features. Disable sync of products they choose and set a reserve quantity on products they choose. Code is done and in production, but the only time that choice has ever run is in testing. With over 10,000 products, not one has ever had sync disabled, or a reserve quantity !=0. I need a new job.2

Got a ticket for a program's file sync feature timing out. After debugging forever I finally reach out to IT and get told there was a drive failure and the server RAID array is rebuilding. Gotta love efficient cross team communication.. just let me waste my time thinking it's my problem.

Spending six hours installing Antergos and reinstalling Antergos because I can not log into my laptop when I install i3 nor when I install GNOME...
Turns out the drivers for NVIDIA got installed (I checked it without thinking about it) everytime and that was the culprit...
Lesson learned: install everything by yourself, that way you know what you have on your laptop, and makes it much easier to troubleshoot..1
