I fucking hate frontend development
>updates three dependencies for security reasons
>entire thing falls apart
>spends whole week to fix it
>its literally just two lines to fix it but those lazy mfs had to ask a QA to rewrite it
>mfw3 -
Quite amazingly, yes!
as a matter of fact one of my parents is actually also in information technology or related field so there are very much aware of how in demand the job is and how difficult it is as well and the best part is a lot of my engineering friends are also switching to computer science and just because it is the better choice of because of how over saturated the engineering field is so yeah i think i have a better career choice than most of my peers
(PS: I used Speech to text here so forgive the grammar errors)1 -
So the infra folks finally considers OpenStack after doing their own thing that is prone to breaking whenever they add new stuff on the IaaS
ABOUT FUCKING TIME -
"Hey can you add (feature) on this backend"
> Looks at backend
> api.py
> 4K+ Lines
uhhh... is it me or our entire production is held by this single Python backend....?
This thing is running our hypervisor platform... Our IaaS platform... and it's one file....
WHAT THE FUCK8 -
Hey Microsoft,
Do us a favor and make Intune also a thing for parental control, because I found out Intune is actually MUCH more effective at preventing my nieces from destroying the PC than the regular controls
I mean honestly the parental controls for consumers are too basic, we can't even add proper policies2 -
A little headpat for those who have suffered so much in making wrapper code for managed languages for native libraries
Because I know how painful it is to make one16 -
Infra engineers should be war veterans
I literally spent 4-5 days on CI, DevOps and Intune
The worst part is you don't even know what will happen until the CI runs4 -
The CI just errored out with no explanation.
Like nothing...
Just code 127 on bash...
I think the CI hates me5 -

> Spends a week on a feature
> "Oh we won't need it anymore"
EXCUSE ME BUT WHY!? WE HAVE A FUCKING ROADMAP YOU COULD'VE TOLD THERE WE WON'T NEED IT ANYMORE WHY FUCKING WHY YOU WANKSTAIN >:(6 -
Honestly remote work allowed me to stay productive but to make it more better:
* I usually isolate myself from the rest of the family so I can focus on work
* Taking breaks between sessions so I don't over-exert myself.
*Calming music (I don't know how calming Symphonic Metal is but it is to me)
Other than that, these are just my ways to keep myself efficient, aside from the additional setup my home setup needs which are a new external keyboard and a additional monitor (I use a laptop)
Additional notes: If you get burnt out too easily, try not extending your sessions for a entire day, you'd risk being devoid of motivation easily8 -
So, I spent an hour setting up a Debian fork since I cba to make DistroLauncher work for WSL2.
The end result was this: https://github.com/sr229/wslinit/
It's ultra-scuffed but hey it works!2 -
I like how a co-worker is expecting a Windows Container to work in Linux, and vice versa.
No, it doesn't work like that you fucking baffoon, Linux rootfses needs the Linux kernel (hence why it runs on WSL2 or Hyper-V using LCOW), and same can be said for Windows Containers.
How dumb of a human being must you assume everything should "just work" in a container?5 -
I should be making features today.
But I ended up watching a 2-hour stream of Akai Haato of Hololive.
Sometimes working at home is a blessing and a curse6 -
After 3 years of working with Node.js, I have finally snapped
Node.js is cringe
I am .NET gang now15 -
Being a junior myself before all I can say with others that came after me was:
- Keep your head down
- Don't take everything as an offense
- People are rude or angry, but that's just how we are: we deal with normal users' BS everytime that we just wanted a break.5 -
Can I complain most of the memes or jokes in this platform have been overused
I'm usually not the one to speak but sometimes I just see overused jokes or those stolen from Reddit.
Have some originality
(and before you ask, my own memes are on Reddit as well. I repost my own memes, not someone else's)8
