Work at a start-up they said. It will be fun they said.
It's awesome, the learning curve is unbelievable.
But your personal life? Destroyed.
Weekends? Sleeping more than 6-7 hours a day? Forget about it.4 -
Started testing out the concept of a new application I'm developing (nothing special)
I always seem to play games instead of coding, so I'm developing a trainer which monitors for any open games and checks whether I have coded enough in a day to play games.
If I haven't coded for long enough, it will force close the game and warn me.
Further development to happen.27 -
Three Layers of Security
As InfoWorld notes, all smartphones have three basic
elements of security. Your first major task as a mobile
user is to become aware of these layers and enable them
in your devices:
1. Device Protection: Allowing remote data "wiping" if your
device is ever lost or stolen.
2. Data Protection: Preventing corporate data from being
transferred to personal apps running on the same device
or personal network
3. App-Management Security: Protecting your in-app
information from becoming compromised.6 -
Had to adhoc re-record couple sponsored TV-ads' voice overs and didn't have time to get to a studio.. True engineer always finds a way to make most out of the resources at hand.
Excellent sound btw, good mic + non-echoing 'recording chamber'. ;)5 -
When you finally understand how a RxJava operator works in different multithreaded scenarios after hours of trial and error...3

no matter how big shot programmer you are, you 90% time you will only code
if(condition)
{
// do something
}
else
{
// do something else

Who doesn't love bugs, we all love them, they provide the help needed to sleep, whether they were IRL bugs or program bugs2

Move ++ and -- to the right hand side? @dfox
It's a pain in the a++ to use the app one handed.
(Took me a few weeks to notice since the whole iPhone is a pain in the a++ to use one handed. )9 -
Me on my phone, visiting a website. A popup appears "You have 300 viruses on your phone. Download this app."
You fucking piece of Javascript, stay in your limits.4
