So when I joined this community, I was bit embarrassed because I am a tester and everyone around was a dev.
But I was wrong. I was welcomed here with a warm heart. I got love beyond expectations.
In those early days, all I wanted was enough votes so that I could afford my favourite t-shirt and matching shoes in avatar builder.
Not only I got those, but some free sticker swag and soon enough the squishy ball.
I made friends and I openly brag in public that I have some awesome friends from around the globe.
An angry yet down to earth German ranter.
The Pink Goddess.
The script master Brit.
The sysadmin enganeer from Belgium.
The account deleter from Australia.
Some awesome Muricans.
The privacy guy from the Netherlands.
Sysadmin from Sweden.
French, Swiss, Japanese, Indonesian, Burmese, Swedish, South Koreans, Middle Eastern, Fillipino, and even some fellow crazy Indians as well.
I am fucking proud to call you all my friends.
Upvotes hardly matter to me. Interaction is what I am here for. And you guys make me feel at home even though I am tester.
Founded the Team Raven and Lol club. The random mention activity was also fun.
But never did I thought I would reach the 4th top ranter position. Beating the master in his own game? Lol.
What next? I look forward to meet you all in real life. Thank you David and Tim.
Thank you devRant 😊104
I see. Seems as if we're up to a great start here.
Don't get me wrong, I fucking love DuckDuckGo, but this is just too ironic not to make fun of it.17
Last year at the the Xmas party CEO slips in that he wants the app done by end of February, I freak because I thought he meant both iOS and Android (only dev working on both :/), anyways he wanted specifics for locking out specific people that haven't paid for some in-house training (like in app persons just not in the app lol) it required web development which I'm horrible at, I spend a whole week and managed to scrape together the right functions to do a user lock out, pretty all things considering.
A couple weeks before deadline I'm done :D, I've done a lot of testing, some in-house user testing, changes made all bugs visually possible are fixed.
I'm here stuck waiting at a roadblock, developing the Android app sure but for their iOS app that they want released first, I'm stuck on hold, so annoyed, it's not like I can just put on a lawyer hat and just right some shit that says don't use x unless you agree and such.
So annoying, for about 2 weeks I just played games on my phone, I was not expecting to waste that much time lol, I was really expecting the legal stuff to be ready.
Just a side note co-worker and boss that needed to get this legal stuff knew I needed to get this done, since I mentioned it leading up to my completion.
I don't think it'd take too long with Apple when it comes to the review, it's just an update but I wouldn't put my faith in that as an answer. Just hate that I'm on hold, was wanting to finish this app and apply for a new job (nothing against the company more so because I want to go a company where I could get a but of mentoring). But I sit here waiting, working on the Android app, it'd be sad if finish the Android app before their lawyers get back to me with the legal stuff, though Android is a lot easier for me (I did iOS after completing majority of the features they wanted on Android because I was more comfortable working on it).
:/ What a drag
-expression, english. Usually used in place of "we gave zero shits about our users privacy" or "we str8 up boolin on u lol".1

P.S: I seem to have developed now a third sense, when the devrant post cooldown is down, so I can rant more lol, because whenever I feel like posting the thought or rant, the cooldown is just about to expire
Hmm, I find it highly peculiar that I let a friend borrow my pc to watch stranger things on Netflix, with her account.
I signed her into the guest account, she picked Google Chrome (not signed in).
Now my Facebook feed and YouTube adds are all about stranger things..
I get the ip gets logged & mapped.. But srsly.8
HELP ME OUT BRUTHA AND SISTUR..
I've finally finished my website - now's the time to do the tedious thing and get a decent hosting for as little money as possible.
Does anyone know a hosting that has:
- High privacy ethics (not that I'm gonna store porn there, just my screenshots posted via ShareX)
- VPS-based hosting I can put a nice Linux on.
- Unlimited or 'really high' bandwidth.
- Located in Europe (UK included lol).
I would be most thankful :P25
Any suggestions on password managers?
I know I am late to the party but like some of you may also relate to, I am skeptical of trusting other software with my information. But since I have too many accounts and keeping track of different passwords is a hassle (as is generating something I'll hopefully remember) I felt like it was time for a password manager.
Open to thoughts, suggestions, experiences etc.
Ideally something privacy centric that won't datamine you or shove ads about their "other services" down your throat. My biggest fear is a compromised server or security flaw which will pretty much make everything vulnerable and open which is why I've held off so far.
Everything I have seen so far has been the result of some form of sponsorships/paid review ad/or corporate reference so as you can imagine that's an instant red flag for me. If you read all of this I thank you for your time and patience lol15
