fb messenger stopped working after the update, it just shows a white screen... it made me realise i don't even care, family and friends contact me there but ... Dobby is a free elf now4

My development process seems to go:
1. Write code
2. Believe that said code is amazing
3. Write more code
4. Revisit earlier code and start to doubt it's amazing-ness
5. Get frustrated that it could be done better
6. Redo 1 and repeat cycle
Seems a massive waste of time but I tend to like taking a different approach as soon as I find I'm getting stuck with the previous one.
I then get encouraged to take the quick/easy approach which seems like a backwards step and not worthwhile because I know it won't be as fast/efficient.2 -
Fellow Dev: the clients are requesting a gallery on their website with functioning modals.
Me: okay cool
So for the record, I'm new to front-end and I've got quite a lot to learn in JavaScript.
*I googled as much as I could and I made a proper functioning gallery in 2 full days of coding*
Him: okay, so this is great but they aren't really digging it.
Me: *sigh* yes, so what do they want?
Him: have you seen how an image opens in Google images? Like you click on one, the image opens while the rest of the content shifts down?
Me: um... Yeah?
Him: yeah, so they want that.
Me: ... *Scoops the web trying to figure out how Google does it*. Dude, I can't find anything close to it and I've still got a lot to learn. Idk how to do it.
Him: well, you're being paid for that. So, you better do it.
Me: 1000Rs ( approx. 14.58$ ) isn't called "being paid". Gimme a break here.
Him: You're a novice rn.
Me: why don't you do it?
Him: I'm your boss.
*Sigh* (he indeed is my boss)
Him: deal with it.
Me: FU........C.....*suddenly I realized how it's done* OH OH OH OH I just got it, I just got it!
(I actually make something like that)
*Lol yay*
That's just my best story of a fight. Lol.5 -
So am I the only one here who is still saving up to buy the latest 15 inches macbook pro despite of all those cons?
How I wish dell xps can run Mac OS X. Meh 😩
Hhmm or should I buy dell xps and just install Ubuntu?19 -
There's this WebDesigner who wants every single website made pixel-perfect to his design.
We usually spend like 1 extra month on each website just because we can't do it pixel-perfect for each resolution
Now I'm working on yet another of his websites and his brother is beside me as a stagist
Am I allowed to insult the designer and swear against him every 5 minutes or so?5 -
Going to forums asking for help as to why my nested for loop wasn't working correctly after the first loop only to realise I was using the variable i for both loops...
Felt like an absolute twat4 -

Client: can you fix the slider on my homepage please?
Me: It seems to be working just fine
Client: it works but it’s not how I want it, fix it
Me: well what do you want me to change then?
Client: don’t change it, just fix it!

You know what's worse than hell?
Your non-technical boss thinking he knows coding.
In the middle of night you are going to fix the problem he created, because he messed it in live server.5 -
Aiming for the kitties!!! 😻😻😻
But there's still a long way :D

Found an actual usage for light themes: bright sunny days when you have the opportunity to work outside. Unfortunately however, this much exposure to sunlight hurts the developer4
