Can anyone recommend any good IT / hacker related films that are not HACKERS or THE MATRIX. Thanks.13

Whoever designed scoped storage on Android deserves to be congratulated, they managed to make it less usable than qubes os. I've had to rename a file to png and put it in dcim to be able to access it because for some reason download and documents folders need a special snowflake way to be accessed.
Also why the fuck does the dev need to declare the permission to access all files like a file explorer and I can't change it unless I get the app from github and recompile it?2 -
Why does google do this? It's supposed to be a map, not a fucking travel guide, I want to see the motherfucking map that it so ironically calls itself
Swallow a Collins road atlas whole you fucking impostor.9 -
Why do most apps have a password reset page that redirects to a mobile site ?
Why not give them a code they can enter into the app which would then show a password reset page within the app or a link which opens the page within the app.
Isn't it good practice to keep the user within the app?
Isn't it better to serve a token than serve an entire html webpage for the server.
I've been thinking about this but 90% people follow the website pattern and Idk why. Am I missing something ?
Please fill me in on it. (Even devrant uses the same pattern)5 -
Today was a good day. User asked for a tricky feature. Right after telling him it is done he left this :)9

The best hack in history is surely the one from the mystic "bitchchecker":

[Disclaimer: This doesn't have too much to do on programming or dev stuff]
Earlier today I went to the library (the physical place) and just decided to sit down with some books on computer stuff, at some point I went into the "Education" section to see if they had like how to stuff on programming or whatever, and I found a palm sized rock that was painted white on one side with a dragon hidden behind a book. It said on the back "Post on FB. Keep or rehide"...
So I got my phone out and opened FaceBook, and the first post that showed said "I just hid a bunch of rocks at the Library and [The name of a park nearby]".
I posted some pictures of the rock and mentioned the friend on mine that hid it, and went to another section to hide it again.
I found a second one that said "Be yourself" and the same "Post on FB, keep or rehide" message, one with a Monster on it and at the park there was a mouse eating a piece of cheese.
The mouse one I kept for myself. :D1 -
Am I the only one who procrastinates only on starting a task? Like, once I start the task, then it's easy to keep going till completion; but I can't freaking get my butt into the chair and start.
Any tips on how to get over starting troubles?7 -
Do you make popcorn because you want to eat it...
Or because you want to see if you can pop all the corn? -
I somehow want to make an ai that analyses porn videos and learns to distinguish the parts when he cums on her face. I would call it facial recognition.
Sorry.19 -
Greeting everyone, first post of myself here, be gentle with me and kindly throw this needed dude some neat ++ since I wish to have a nice avatar.
So I wanted to share and interesting thing I found out, I was compiling FFMPEG from source following the official(?) tutorial → https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/..., everything was going ok so far until I got into LibOgg part and says to download libogg-1.3.2.tar.gz from xiph.org and untar it, then it gave me an error about being unable to do so, ok whatever just download the zip version and unzip it AND ... it gave an error again that is not a valid file, ok what is going on here now? decided to run file libvorbis-1.3.4.tar.gz/zip version and it said "HTML document, ASCII text", oh... kden, that is interesting.
Decided to actually check the url "http://downloads.xiph.org/releases/..." in my browser and it sends me to "https://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/xiph/..." and the archives there do work since libvorbis does the same thing, so perhaps someone should tell the guys at FFMPEG to stop sending people to xiph.org and sent them to the other url.
Now this is mostly an interesting thing I found out that I wish to share, I dont really any rant to share ... at least not dev-related because Im sure full of stuff to rant in my life6 -
My application closes, but with an error, but it technically still closed. Soooo, no problem, right?5
