Juste before the smartphone explosion (~2008), I was working on a virtual machine for Windows Mobile, Symbian, Android 1.0, and basically every feature-phone of the time.

The VM (coded on good ol' C) would interpret a bunch of HTML, JS, CSS files (more or less like a browser) to run some tiny widgets above the phone's UI, basically allowing us to make multi-platform, custom UIs for low-end phones.

Everything was coded from scratch (except the JS engine which was a fork of SpiderMonkey), the VM could run multiple instances of itself, took around ~2MB of RAM to run (the exe contained everything in 1MB).

Oh, and we were a team of 3 beginner developers.

Just left a senior position in a YC startup for a middle position in my local company.

I believe that this downgrade will relieve some of my stress and give me more free time to heal my depression.

After fixing my uncontrollable consumption issues I can finally stop being a wagecuck. I don’t care much about my salary anymore while focusing on health and happiness. I saved up a lot of money so I finally can afford not to live paycheck to paycheck.

I’m slowly shifting towards living off my side projects only.

Programming has taught me that if I want to create something digital, I can do it myself or teach myself or work on it with others.

And here I am. All alone. Struggling with Angular. Not getting any help. Not getting any further. *sigh*

- No screens connected to an Nvidia device.

- Goes to system information

- GTX 1050

- Look around back, all of the displays are plugged into system video on the motherboard.

- Facepalm, plug into the GPU

So, I’m working with Angular now since December. A bit off and on. And there is this app on my plate. And I’m f’n stressed since I don’t know Angular all that well and, things need to get done.

So I try often things by myself and often find myself staring at my screen feeling like I’m to understand Chinese.

Today and yesterday I got loads and loads of feedback and I’m trying to implement this all, and doing the best I can.

Although I’m stressed and a month ago I actually took a week off because of a burnout/Boreout.

So meanwhile, I’m doing some therapy and try and stop the negative thoughtflow. But I’m also feeling very lost and alone in this project. Because my questions don’t get answered.
We have to work from home and also we have to work less since the company is not doing very well in this crisis.

Also before the whole shithole began I was looking for another job because I lack the confidence that I will keep this current one. Still looking and two rejections further.

I’m trying meditation to cope with all this.
