Fuck the U.S. government.
Fuck the UK and Australia and all the other governments for taking advantage of the crisis of the last two years to get more power and money for their elites.
Fuck them all for starting COVID with their unsanctioned and unethical “gain of function” lab experiments and creating so much chaos that nobody really has a chance anymore at living the life they had dreamed of or so carefully planned for.
Fuck them for the out of control spending and money printing and inflation and even messing around with trying to regulate and tax crypto so we don’t have any kind of escape valve to live a normal, happy life.
Because of them, I can’t even enjoy my time off work. Even if I could plan a vacation that wouldn’t have to be canceled due to an outbreak or resultant supply chain issues, I can’t travel without severe restrictions that make it miserable and not worth the trouble.
Fuck them for making everyone into stupid monkeys fighting over opinions about data that is incomplete, misunderstood, misrepresented, or downright fixed toward a specific pharma-fascist authoritarian outcome.
And fuck them especially for being hypocrites and going to parties and generally not following their own rules they made for us when they think we’re not watching, and then persecuting and prosecuting us when we dare do the same.
Fuck ‘em all. I’m so done.21
COVID variants should adopt a semantic versioning, rather than using greek alphabetics.
COVID V.22.1 Beta (testing in US)
COVID v.22 release 1 (being tested somewhere in London)
COVID v.22 nightly builds (still brewing in China)6
covid is making life hard again. I can't just stop in the middle of a research project because I can't access the robots anymore. *makes angry noises* I already canceled a human study because of covid, so this feels super unfair.
but you know what pisses me off even more? the govt complaining about numbers being high but not doing jackshit about active disinfection of air and public spaces (China did that, btw) or providing cheap disposable masks for people.
Also, I'm not as much afraid of getting covid as I am afraid of giving it to the head of the department who is a 70+ yrs old genius in his own right.
... This is shit.40
News like the "social score" travel ban in China really makes me hate social networking and how by developing better technologies we further the capability of orwellian governments to infringe human rights.
But the most depressing thing is we are in a similar watered down version of it, think about it; what you post, what you say, who you follow, what you read, the videos you watch, where you've worked everything follows you. You can't get a job at a company that disapproves your thoughts, study in a college who is more concerned about your ideology rather than teaching...we are slowly but surely becoming a "free" China.

All I'm saying is that if we want speech completely locked down on all social media platforms, simply hire the StackOverflow mods and the problem is solved. Nobody will be able to post anything unless the mods believe it's worthwhile for everyone to read and respond to.
That's it. That's the rant.4
In flutter , there’s something called TextButton.icon. Which render a button look like this :
(👍🏼 Like Button)
But there’s this tiny twat decided to use countless of nested column in a nested row and containers just to create a fucking button! This particular class contains 1438 lines of code! Most of the code are redundant and nested fucking shit.
I want to punch this guy so hard but I do not intend to start a ww3 with china.
That means I have no choice but refactor it as I implement a feature requested by the product team, every components break. It is like a land mine field here. One changes , the entire application crash.
So there are useless mother fucking Sherlock fucking holmes kept telling me that “don’t worry about refactoring now , just complete the task.” , like seriously “how in the name of mother fucking god of all arseholes can I complete my task when I can’t change even one component?”
These people are fucking genius. Their intelligence resurrected Einstein and made him die the second time.3
Communication is IMPORTANT, and the way to approach someone is also IMPORTANT.
I experienced that my colleague is from China, and his English accent is so strong (in the context of not understandable, like the word 'folder' he pronounces it 'foda', and the word 'code' he pronounces it 'korr') that I have to ask him to repeat himself (which sometimes I felt guilty to ask him to repeat for thrice, and I am still not able to understand) or maybe we can do it over text. It is much easier to understand him that way and I can leverage these texts to see a bigger picture of the message.
From this, I realised I need to work more on understanding what he is going to say and what he actually meant.
Any advice for me?9
So I have been getting a lot of spam at work for various crap. Some conference attendee bullcrap, and other fake vendors, etc.
Someone pointed out to me that a lot of spam comes from China. So if you reply to the spam with topics the people of China are not supposed to see then they filter you out of the spam network.
Now I started replying to the most prolific spam with this as a link:
"1989 Tiananmen Square protests and massacre"
I will let you know if this helps reduce or increase my spam.6
Had a call with recruiter from Japan
Asks my age.
I replied why?
His response was, i need to know to identify you there are lot of people with same name.
I am blank
Replied : is there any age restrictions from Big Companies in Japan.
Says, oh no its only for internal purpose.
Fuck it, gonna decline my application.
Have worked in India, China and Singapore so far havent got anyone asked about the age.10
I hate copyright disclaimer on the top of code files.
I also hate lint-exclude comments.
For the same reason. Both have nothing to do with the code. Both are talking to a system that wraps around our code. Either the linter, that is not part of our code, but part of our continuous integration pipeline or the legal system that governs our living together in whatever country we are.
But for the linter comments and code checker comments and so on, I get it. They are functional. And I do not know how to add information to a line of code without writing into the code in a better way.
But... Does anyone know if the Copyright claim is even valid? Is it functional?
Don't get me wrong. I understand that code has copyright, but is writing it in code even a good method for it?
First I copyright it to myself or the company that I am working for. But that's the norm, isn't it? It's not like someone can look through my code and say: "He forgot to write it on top of this file, we can steal this file."
So if it was missing it wouldn't change anything. It's just so that it is harder for people to claim they haven't known is was copyrighted... Was that even a legal defense in the first place? "Your honor, I was unaware that I violated a valid copyright," seem like the words with which you'd lose a trial.
But then you upload it to Github. And you choose a license. And... It contradicts what you've written in the file. That sounds like a good legal defense. I was looking at that statement, not at this statement. And if you change your mind you have to find hundreds of copyright notices to change it.
Not to speak about the legal system. Is the code protected in the USA? China? Netherlands? Germany? Different legal systems... Maybe different rules...
I know little about law, but I cannot imagine that copyright notices at the top of code files have any real legal power. And it is strangely enough not a topic I find a lot about.
I start believing it's just like when you draw a nice looking vase and somehow scribble van Gogh on it.6
Apple is really a rotten company.
They have a deal with Chinese government, so they are basically helping abuse human rights.
Recently they disabled AirDrop in China, to further prevent freedom of speech during protests. And they are threatening to remove Twitter from app store, since it Musk is ramping up free speech.14
"Only the strongest gains the right to get the oil". Saw it at the shop yesterday.
This slogan is indeed correct — China soon will be "getting the oil" on russian land. Say bye-bye to all the land south of Ural Mountains.5
So apparently, the next version of C# is gonna have list pattern matching more powerful than F#...
...so... my motivation to learn F# drops back down to curiosity, since C#'s list pattern matching seems to will have all I needed and wanted for my parser, as opposed to F# which seems to not have it...
also fuck Russia and China, but I don't want to think about the impending apocalypse, thankyouverymuch.
just read about that DRAGONBRIDGE takedown.
Apparently it was some system set up to disseminate pro-China anti-USA propaganda in multiple channels.
Now, I totally can believe something like this would exist - too easy a jab to a fantastically big payout if it actually works. However, isn't it easy to call *anything* contrary to *anything* a propaganda plot?
That is why I believe in NOTHING that is on the internet. NOTHING. The internet says I have "credit card" "outstanding debt" to "pay" "ASAP".
Yeah, right. Half of those aren't even real words (I mean, "card"?! come on). You won't get me, opposing view propaganda machine!1
I think WW3 will be started by misunderstanding. China will invade Japan. And the scene I can imagine will be :
A random Japanese: "Konichiwa"
A random C official : "攻我菊花？🤬"
Secondly, Russia invade Malaysia and Indonesia , after we told president Putin "Kita Suka awak"
And then that's how ....
WORLD WAR 3 STARTED.15
