Builds a site around a CMS, so non devs can update content
Gets asked to make simple changes that can be made using said CMS
🤦♂️3 -
Do you ever feel like devs are the last people to know requirement changes, design changes, etc? And yet are the people who actually have to make the thing and ship it on time...
-
My boss, who can't code, just gave me a bug to fix and said should be a quick fix...
It might be, but since you can't code, maybe don't assume

When you could work anywhere with an internet connection and yet your company frowns upon it. Only to later ask my boss a question, who sits 50 feet away, and have him tell me to use Screenhero...tell my again why I have to be in the office?!2

When you give your team and the client a month+ to test the app and get no feedback, then all of a sudden once it's live in the app store you get an email filled with bug reports....
Were you guys not testing it at all?!
😡🤦♂️1 -
Company uses Trello to track bugs and features the devs are doing.
End of the week the PM: "So what bugs and features did you work on this week?"
If only there was a platform that we could track all these things... 🤦♂️1 -
Designer: hey, can you add this thing
Me: Sure, but that's probably a day's worth of work
Designer: oh, I thought it was just a line of code
Me: 😑😡🤦♂️ -
Boss: I'm not seeing the fix for the simple text change issue
Me: (who cares about little design details which said boss really likes about me) That simple text change is a long line of text and breaks on all screen sizes besides your big ass monitor, so I asked for a designers opinion, which I finally got today.
My bad for caring just a little bit... -
I have a dream that one day the sales people will consult with a developer on time and effort estimates before making ridiculous promises to the client.5

When one PM hands you off to another PM and neither has any idea about the project I am supposed to be working on...nor do I have access to the Trello boards, the repos, etc...
Happy Monday 🤦♂️ -
Boss uses @here in Slack channel, waits 5 seconds then tags me and another dev. Not sure he understands how @here works.1

It’s always fun when you are asked to push to production on a friday afternoon...Because the project managers and owners won’t have be the ones who have to fix something on a friday night or weekend 🤷♂️

Monday morning after working whole weekend to finish for release at Tuesday tidying everything up, optimizing, when I ask myself
"why did I wrote in ES5?"
*Checking the time*
"17 hrs left of this day, I should be able to make it!"
As if I didn't have enough problems with procrastination in my life. I sure can find more things to do
*Locking the door and turning phone off* -
I first got into programming when I was really young. I recall programming a square at a museum in Ohio, and after that I was hooked. I learned Logo and was on the web dev team for my elementary school while attending there. I used Hotdog HTML editor 😂
