This is what f*ckin' grinds my gears to the max...
Today a family member asked me to help them with online banking so I agreed because they are really not computer literate.
I don't use the bank they use so the whole online banking website interface was new to me and I had to figure out where some things were.
The family member that I was helping was getting really annoyed because it was taking long (by the way it took me less than 15 min to finish helping them).
As I was assisting them the f*ckin' idiot had the nerve to tell me, and I quote, "I thought you were good in IT. You can't even assist me with online banking".
Honestly, WTF?!?!?! 😡😡
How does one even respond to such...
Anyways... This is just one simple example regardless of what field you are in IT, you NEED to be good with whatever tech gets thrown at you.
So irritating....😡😣15 -
We are currently under 21 days quarantine and today I realized that my day to day life style hasn't changed at all. Except that now I am working from home...
I really need to start socializing more and possibly get a hobby or something like that... 🤦♂️8 -
Some are taking it as a holiday, others still have to meet deadlines while being quarantined.

The fruit company is making me have sleepless nights.
Ffs...How long does it take to approve a developers account?
Considering we have 3 other developer accounts with them but we do need that 1 extra. This is so frustrating2 -
So I just found out that another company is launching the same app/website idea as mine...*sigh*
This is not how I was planning on starting my week.
I suppose I need wait and see what they have and improve my app to be better.
Hello devRant, it's good to be back. I hope everyone has a good week.6 -
Lately I've been feeling really demotivated to work on my own personal dev project and its been like this for weeks now. I really don't know how to change that 😣
So I want to find out what motivates you to work on your own dev projects? 😊5 -
I only finished my CS degree last year but while I was a student and after I got my degree I went for a few interviews and none of the companies really asked me what degree I have or didn't ask at all, some just asked what I was studying. All of the companies asked what I can do and what my skills are. If I can do it, they were happy to hire me even if I didn't have a degree.
So to answer the question, a degree is not useful if you still don't know how to program (for example) or if you don't know your field well. If you are good at what you do, you will earn crazy money with or without a degree.
I know a few people that don't have a CS degree but their programming skills are crazy good...probably much better than a uni graduate with a CS degree.3 -
I've been told a number of times that I spend too much time in front of my computer "playing games", where I am actually working hard on work projects and personal projects.
[I wonder how they figured that I am "playing games" when they haven't even seen what I am doing but anyways...]
Some people will just never understand how much dedication and effort my job as a web developer requires.8 -
After a weekend of struggling with dev, I am finally seeing some progress...Slowly but surely.
Have a good Monday and a good week ahead 😊👍 -
1. Reduce the number of web development technologies so that I can actually keep up.
2. Master Android development.
3. No more "Please hack a Facebook account for me". -
Hello devRant family 😬
So I completed my Bachelor (Honours) of Computer and Information Sciences, yaay 🙂👍
So now that this is done, I would like to find out from programmers with years of experience (possibly web developers) if studying my masters in computer science is worth it and if it will be beneficial to me?
My main focus in my career is web development. I already have 2+ years of working part time as a junior web developer and as I mentioned above, I am wondering if studying masters in computer science will be worth it for my career?
Your opinions and feedback will be really appreciated. Thank you 🙂10 -
When you are planning to do a great amount of work during the weekend but you get stuck on one thing and there goes working on that one thing the WHOLE weekend.
There goes my project plan.
*Frustration at its best * 😣😣 -
Halloween is approaching and I wonder why anyone would pay $20 for a haunted house when they can run their code and see all the errors and get scared for free 😂😂
