Yesterday I won an old Mac mini at work, then I lost it on the bus back home, but got it back today. What a roller coaster of emotions 😅8

This is the first time where people stumbled upon my blog posts on each day of A WHOLE WEEK! Amazing 🥳2
-
My vision is to work part time as a dev and part time as a writer about mobile app development! I only started recently to write one article each week about interesting topics or my current side projects. Previously I never thought that it would be so much fun to write about what I am doing, but I really enjoy planing and writing these articles 🥳 Maybe some day I will try my luck and apply as an iOS author at raywenderlich.
PS: I would be very glad, if you could give me feedback to my new article! 😁 Help me to achieve my vision 😜 Here is my new article about music and sound effects in a SpriteKit game for iOS:

I recently started writing blog articles, mainly on iOS and Swift 😁 I would be very happy about feedback!

Monday is the deadline for a big project in my master, I worked together with 11 people for one whole year. Our repository is on a server from university and we use the uni cluster to evaluate our results.
And today the uni spontaneous turns of its electricyty for the weekend to test some fallback systems...2 -
I just got this book and I am excited to read it 😁
You can get it for free here:

Some years ago I was on vacation with my wife. Everytime we were at the swimming pool, I worked on a really small side project. About 4 months later, I had an interview for my first Job as a developer. I showed them this project and got the job 😁1

Very important lesson I learned while working with Xcode:
Always have multiple major versions installed and ready to be used.
Xcode 9 can't convert old Swift 2.2 project to Swift 4 and can't open the "old" project? Xcode 7 can help you.
Xcode 9 crashes randomly while moving top level packages? Xcode 8 can help you.
Yeah, always funny to find new bugs in Xcode...5 -
I finally finished my implementation of a suffix array construction algorithm! 😄
It takes about 30 mins to process 1GB of text and uses all available RAM, but it works! 🎉
Now I can optimize it, the original algorithm is 3x faster.9 -
Some days ago a friend told me about this good site to by the new .app domains, bigdaddy.com.
So I wanted to look for a domain and ooops, thats gay porn 😮
I confused names with godaddy.com. Maybe a lecture at uni is not the best place to open this site 😅 -
So I started to read the book „Mastering Git“ by Jakub Narębski (*) and I am so impressed of how much more git is than just commit/push/pull 😳

Elon Musk doesn’t know what consequences his plan has 🤨
Musk: I‘m putting people on Mars!
Developers: Fantastic, more timezones to support 😑2 -
This is how Pokémon Go shows errors to its users. It says a generic „Error“ in German with different numbers for different errors.
I am not an UX expert, but isn’t this a really bad practice? The error number has no meaning to the user, so why displaying it? I think it is just confusing and looks ugly 😐8 -
I have upvoted good questions, helpful comments and useful answers on SO for a long time now, although I don’t have enough reputation (15 needed to count upvotes).
Once I reach this 15 points get ready for a big rain of upvotes 😁2 -
Look at my new toys 😁
I really look forward to play with these beacons! I want to use them in my wedding app. I will place two at the church and two at the party location, one for iBeacon and one for Eddystone, and the guests will get a message on arrival and departure.
Unfortunately I already broke the case of one 😅
Have any of you other good ideas I can use them for?2 -
Got a new deck of cool cards for me, my brother and a friends for their birthdays 😁
