Whenever someone at our university forgets to lock his laptop, we change his default font in Eclipse to Comic sans 😂 Just to Show him why security is important.10

It's:
"oh cool. you must have good job perspectives."
Or:
"you just use a computer. that's not real work. do a job where you use your muscles. lazy student."
And the best:
"Can you gift me with computer parts for free" or "can you copy program XY for me? It cost to much."13 -
I decided to write a diss article in Medium about SJWs because I'm kinda sick and tired of them

Don't understand why people diss Windows all the time. It has become so intelligent now that it can sense when you're onto something urgent and important... and then fuck you right in the ass by initiating updates.

so, me and my best friend started playing pen and paper and after a wile we decided to create our own system. After a year of improving and testing we thaugth about a new java side project and more improvements for our system. time goes by and now we have three java apps for our own pen and paper and a lot of reusabilly code.
Playing and planing a new session of p&p is now so comfortable and fast 🤗 -
Why people diss php when they don't know about php7 and awesomeness like laravel..
Framework for artists indeed6 -
Cookies... They are a mess. (To roughly translate what happened here) the text states: you diss-alowed cookies but to view our video you must accept them. (So far so good) If you want to watch the video, you can do that if you allow them. (Still good) to do this, remove your cookies (wait wat) and hit refresh. So... I did not allow cookies, and you set a cookie to not set cookies????2

I regularly diss on PHP in office but the truth is just that the developers before me wrote bad code. It was bad code in PHP alright but they had a whole framework to use and at least organize their code better but they didn't use it.
I have seen their JavaScript code too and it was all in one file.
P.S. I have no idea under which condition they had to write the code. The app was initially outsourced.5 -
How bad are you at English? A LLM (dolphin-phi) just've said this to me when I asked for a joke:
"I apologize, but the given text seems to lack context and proper grammar structure for generating humorous content."
I must have broken some record.1 -
Lead: alright people what are your ideas and updates for this page refactor we've been talking about.
dipshit: Alright guys, I've done a quick awesome prototype that I really like...
dipshit: *starts to speak super fast* (I catch words about function composition, clean, no side effects, speed, efficiency. Basically a string of brogrammer buzzwords.)
me: what did you mean by that? How does it work?
dipshit: *basically repeats the same drivel*
me: uh..ok I don't quite understand
everyone else looks confused.
me: ok since you've done a prototype, we take a look at it later
*** After meeting, looks at code ***
It was COMPLETE GARBAGE. He used 1,500+ lines of js in 17 files to make what was essentially a simple 2 item list.
We were looking at a way to overhaul the entire page, he "refactored" maybe perhaps 5% of the page.
There was absolutely nothing clean / functional / composable about this monstrosity. It was as if he read chapter 1 of a book on functional programming and decided he understood enough to call himself an expert.
WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU STILL HIRED?
HOW DO YOU CALL YOURSELF A DEVELOPER?
YOU ARE SELF TAUGHT, DISS PEOPLE WITH FORMAL CS/CE DEGREES AND YOU PRODUCE TRASH CODE?!
ARE YOU SO RETARDED THAT YOU DO NOT RECOGNIZE HOW STUPID YOU ARE?
Please die in a fire, along with your jock attitude and unprofessionalism. Take this worthless junk unfit to be called code with you.3 -

Wife free from work this weekend
Made a rather large project with Pharo and Seaside to see if I dig it(i did, but it ain't replacing my other tools anytime soon, shit requires reading far too much code and digging around dark corners of the net for it)
Finished 2 projects for work and got ahead of 2 others for this week.
Shit b, this is one interesting weekend indeed.

We’d love to get at complete ease with vim but we’re struggling to learn and still only know the basics, so we diss vim users out of jealousy.2

I guess disappearing is a good thing.
backstory:
I’m in school and a “friend” (f) brings up some sort of religion.
Another sits there to watch. (b)
f: hey, b, are you religious?
b: yeah, why?
f: i’m not a fan of fictional books.
At this point, i’m already mad. thats the second time he’s brought up that joke today. its been told by him many times in the past. now its just annoying.
f: the real true religion is the spaghetti monster.
then f starts to try to convince b that that is the real religion. at this point i go to a friend to 1) make myself look busy and 2) have someone with sense to talk to.
DISCLAIMER: As long as you accept what/who someone believes, you are good. but the moment you diss religion without having their point of view, you’ve lost all my respect. Please look at both POV’s5 -
Ich need some help with Linux.
Ich want to switch from windows 7 to Linux. But want a "Windows desktop like" environment and I'm not so experienced with linux jet (just the basics). Can you help?14 -
I just started studying and commenting did not seem so important to me because we've only written simple programs so far. Recently, a friend showed me his book and a story that was in there.
They bought a code and all the names were in Hebrew. Not so bad, if not all comments would be hebrew too. Wtf!
Now I know why commenting is important.1 -

So, after a week seminar at my university on "practical introduction to operating systems" and bash scripts all we did till now is 'echo' and 'mv'.... why did I sign Up for this....2 -
So I'm a fresher and recently joined a startup as a software dev trainee. The talk has been ON this whole week of me getting ragged. D-day came today. Pizzas were ordered. And they pleaded to atleast make them feel like I'm being ragged. 😂2

TL;DR - I’ve done some thinking about operating systems and sticking to one
Mk
so I, like many of you, have seen far more than my fair share of “X operating system is perfect for it all, so don’t use Y operating system because it’s just awful” posts.
Over this week i’ve really done some thinking and experimenting with multiple devices and OSes and programs for various tasks. People coming from windows over to linux (like myself) tend to diss windows (rightfully so for the most part, but still). I’ve also noticed that the android vs. apple debate can get heated among users.
Listen guys,
iOS has its shortcomings obviously, UI being kinda a big one; but no one can deny that apple shoves some of the nicest hardware into their devices. Yes, this stuff is pricey as hell obviously, but the new macs come with an i9 and quite a bit of memory as well. Apple devices tend to have longer lasting batteries too - i cant count the times where i’ve just turned on my mobile hotspot, and stuck my android in my pocket to use my iphone (its a wifi-only 5s). the applications run nicely on apple hardware.
i couldnt learn even half as much programming as i do on my android though; Termux is a godsend, and im able to run and test scripts right there in the palm of my hand. can’t get that on an iphone.
Some of my favorite game developers only develop for windows; I’m dual booting for that sole reason (warframe and the epic games launcher don’t properly run through wine).
Just boil it down inside for a second; You might have come from a more “user friendly” operating system, to learn on one that is less so - wether you wanted the freedom and wiggle room for customization, or just a more developer friendly working environment (God bless conky and its devs) - so you didn’t have to be locked down into one way of seeing things. Putting a previously used OS down directly violates that thougjt process, and at that point you’re just another windows hater, or arch junkie, or whatever. I think we need to be open to appreciating the pros of every system, even if we almost never use some of them, and we should try not to put down other devs-to-be or csci/sec enthusiasts down because of that either.2 -
Developers who use spaces make more money than those who use tabs (for indentation) (stackoverflow survey). What do you use?8

I will start learning Django framework next week. I know elementary python. Any advice on path I should take will be helpful.1
