I give up. It‘s impossible to argue with Apple.

I tried to bring my unofficial iOS devRant app "JoyRant" into the AppStore. It was available via TestFlight for years and it wasn‘t a problem there, apparently. Now for the AppStore, it is a problem.

I talked with the Apple review team for 3 weeks and the discussion went in circles.
They said that my app tries to disguise as or to misrepresent another app on the store (the official devRant app, even though it‘s not available anymore, apparently).

I was asked to remove all of the mentions of devRant from any description or any place in the app. I did. Even though it was stupid because how are people supposed to know that they need a devRant account to use my app? I‘m not allowed to mention devRant.

After that, they said that it can not have the name JoyRant because it sounds too similar to devRant.
I changed it to devJoy everywhere, the app, the meta data for the app store, the github page where the required legal crap is hosted, and in the legal documents themselves.
Did it help? No, it didn‘t.

Apple then proceeded to claim that my app is trying to deceive the users into thinking that this is the official devRant app. Even though I have explicitly stated in the description that it is just an unofficial devRant client.

Now apple says that I should "revise the app content".
Which I assume means that I need to make it something different. Yeah. Great suggestion!

So, I will rename the app back to JoyRant and provide it via TestFlight, as it was before.

Back when I was in school, there was me, these 2-3 other guys, we maintained the school's sites + graphics and what not. If there was a problem, we could solve it. The school hosted big events and the site had over 50k hits in 2 days.
We used PHP then (was a new thing then for us)

I really believe that. Short of a system collapse, there's nothing which will stop some Web/VR/AR amalgam from eventually going mainstream. If anything, a prolonged pandemic will make humans hunger for more digital entertainment and socializing options.

Might take 5 years, or 25, but it will happen in some form. Eventually, people will even readily accept various augmentations to their bodies to further immerse themselves and connect to digital experiences.

How hard can it be to sort content stored in a relational database by a custom meta parameter and restrict the results to a certain language using a very popular content management system in 2023?

text-size-adjust vs viewport meta tag

So, I'm designing a mobile-first website with the chrome mobile simulator. I saw that when I put some text in it, for example a <p>, it will display very very small, and will not take into consideration the font size that I gave it, unless the <p> contains several lines of text. I did some research and I figured that this behavior is due to the text inflation algorithm used by mobile browsers and it can be stopped by using text-size-adjust:none. Is that correct? Then, the viewport meta tag. I figured that the viewport meta tag is used when a website it is not designed mobile first, and will help display the content properly based on the smaller width of a mobile devide. Is that correct? In conclusion, text-size-adjust with the value of none is used when building a mobile-first website in order to stop that inflation algorithm and help display the text properly, and the viewport meta tag is used when bulding a NON mobile-first website. Is that correct? Thank you

This is a question and a rant

I have to get temperature readings from an andriod app written in ionic angular to a webpage written apache wicket... No, I don't have any control over either stack.

The kicker is the wicket app isn't even run properly attached to a domain, it's just run from a box at the client and then the client machines connect through <server ip>:8080/appname

Which means I can't solve my problem by simply having the website and app on the same domain and then use local storage...

Which does not work, the page fails to pick the data.

So my rant is the situation. M question is does anyone have any ideas?

Every one said that in seo just write meta, title and heading and content full of keywords and your website will work but they are wrong i try it all and still it doesn't work.

hey, so i have recently started learning about node js and express based backend development.

can you suggest some good github repositories that showcase real life backend systems which i can use as inspiration to learn about the tech?

like for eg, i want to create a general case solution for authentication and profile management : a piece of db+api end points + models to :

- authenticate user : login/signup , session expire, o auth 2 based login/signup, multi account login, role based access, forgot password , reset password, otp login , etc

- authorise user : jwt token authentication, ip whitelisting, ssl pinning , cors, certificate based authentication , etc (

- manage user : update user profile, delete user, map services , subscriptions and transactions to user , dynamic meta properties ( which can be added/removed for a single user and not exactly part of main user profile) , etc

followed by deployment and the assoc concepts involved : deployment, clusters, load balancers, sharding ,... etc

----

these are all the buzzwords that i have heard that goes into consideration when designing a secure authentication system for a particular large scale website like linkedin or youtube. am not even sure how many of these concepts would require actual codelines and how many would require something else.

so wanted inspiration from open source content to learn about it in depth, replicate and create new better stuff if possible .

apart from that, other backend architectures like video/images storage system, or just some server for movie, social media, blog website etc would also help.
