I'm happy that Twitter employees just up and left when Elon Musk tried to bully them into working 100-hour weeks or have them leave the company. (According to what I read online).
It's not about the downfall of Twitter, but the employees showing the world that they can get better jobs elsewhere, if they are pushed over the edge.
I hope it sends a message to all douchebag CEOs and managers around the world that do the same kinda thing.14 -

No, but I am continually trying to spend *some* time on personal projects before being interrupted 10 minutes in, to be forcibly given a list of jobs that are on *your* agenda. There is a difference.4 -
Ask questions during interview.
Ask about trainings - it's usually a good sign when company offers training budget. Ask about specifics - sometimes it's a shared pluralsight account, and nothing else, which means that that had an idea and half assed it into existence.
Ask tech recruiter about overtime, a good sign is when they have no idea or say that it must be budgeted and scheduled - it means that it does not happen often.
Ask if it is possible to select and change projects, and how often it happens - if often, it may be bad low level management, or people learning new things and jumping between projects.
Also make sure to ask about rules for promotions and pay rises. Good company wił have a clear set of rules in place.
All of the above apply to mid to large companies.
For small company, i'm sure it will be different.3 -
Have you ever encountered a situation like this before?
You worked in a team, made many adjustments in the codebase, and all the changes you've made are the best practice (after some research or asking the community).
But the team leader decided to go with the "messy" version of the code and the team leader does adjust the principle of "bad code" in favour of your coworker, just because he/she is a friend of the team leader.
So, whatever you adjust or contribute is simply nullified but any adjustments made by your coworker are considered "new updates".5 -
