Twitter should be connected to a health tracking device so that users would only be able to reply to tweets as long as their pulse and blood pressure is still on a relaxed level. This could prevent dysfunctional "social" media "discussions" a lot.

Why do Twitter, fb and Instagram need to force accounts to view public content. Like i only want to check in on som ppl without having the app or an account. This move only gets me further away from using their website/apps

Can someone suggest me a good Twitter client. Half of my feed is straight up garbage, filed with tweets from accounts I don't follow or ads. 80% of the accounts I follow are developers, yet more than half the posts I see are related to politics. Why!! just why!!??!!??
Also I wish more apps had chronogical sorting of posts like devrant. :/

How the fuck to use them? Why don't they just show one under another? If post has more than 2 replies it can be clicked to open its direct replies, some of them are shown in main thread, some of them are shown under opened thread. Some replies from main thread are shown under child thread. And to make it even worse any comment of sub thread can be expanded as well showing some random replies that could be expanded recursievly so you may end in main thread again. It is just impossible to read all replies in chonological order. Show me the moron who made this, I wanna kill him....

Lately I've been coming to the realization of how much time social media and YT takes from me and Ive been trying to cut back a lot. YT is definitely the platform that takes the most time from me, so I decided to give it up for the time being. To me RN the landscape of YT is boring and repetitive anyways so I don't mind.

Yesterday was the first day and I was definitely feeling better. My head was not hurting as much, my thoughts were clearer, and I was able to focus on other things.

So far, devRant has severely damaged the 'I need to pay someone to rant too about my work' industry and caused a boom in the 'these guys have an awesome set up; I want a new monitor' industry. Social media guys! Powerful stuff

I don’t know what the hell is up with Twitter these days, but everyone’s debating hopping over to Mastodon…I question why everyone doesn’t just migrate here 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tody I finally decided to go Google free in my device. Now I have 0 Google services in my phone and so far I'm loving it.

All apks can be found on apkmirror and f-droid but devRant is not available on any of those platforms so I have to restore my previous backed up apk from playstore.

Yeah and I'm not on any socialmedia whatsoever like FaceCrap and InstaHeadache. Feels like my phone would last for 2 days on single charge.

If you could only use one social media platform what would it be? (Besides devRant)

Don you hate when someone from {gender}coders or any other group post photos to all social media channels "coding", inspiration quotes for that specific {gender} , and what not, they even posted their github .. but then .. see pic.

And all you see in their github are exercises from courses and books, nothing else.

I don't think that we need to get rid of social media.
I mean, the data generated creates so much value and opportunities. and the services offer so much convenience past which we couldn't possible go.
In light of this what do u think should be the approach to fixing this mess ?
