I see all IT engineers running scared like "they're going to fire/replace all of us". This is the kind of mentality the company wants.
Next time you wanna be an ass to your colleague remember that. Neither of you might reach retirement age. Both of you will be replaced. None of you stands to gain anything from winning the argument2 -
Fun fact: Maldives government once held their meeting underwater to raise awareness of ocean levels problem that threatened their land.
-
Fun fact: after iPhone 4’s antennagate (iPhone 4 losing reception when you grip it hard enough) Steve Jobs and Apple didn’t screw people over. They offered free cases that fixed the issue.6

When did avocados become so popular?
10 years ago almost no one knew what they were and now they're more prevalent than hummus 🥲32 -
The EU is planning to put a law in place that prevents unlimited scrolling of media content.
I don't know how they're going to do this.
I don't know whether I support this.
I don't know who recommended this.
But it was favoured by the majority when it went to vote.44 -
Manager cracks a joke, everyone in the team laughs except one guy.
Manager : Didn't you understand the joke ?
The guy replies : I resigned yesterday8 -
I've tried to joke about it, but you won't pick up the hint. I've told you about the smell, but you think it is a joke. It's not. It. Is. Not. A. Joke.

Ugh power's out.
Luckily it's pretty warm out so we're not suffering. I'd normally have a fire going but my fireplace is out of order.
I hauled in my portable generator in the hopes that if I was well prepared the power would come back on and it would have been wasted effort but I may end up running it later to cool down the refrigerator and maybe charge a few batteries.
Hopefully I have power by morning or I'll have a hard time getting our services deployed...4 -
I found a way to become rich with low effort!
I'll become a python developer.
I hope some fucker finds out that C is durable because it doesn't have to be rewritten all the time and we all go C. The bad apples will fall down soon enough with learning a programming language that actually requires some attention span.34 -
you know whats wild? they're talking of AI taking of the world
and meanwhile we still need to fill out and send copies of pdfs everywhere to get things done

When the company puts a 2 week freeze on all prod updates for the holidays , but still makes you show up for work (with nothing to do). 😭7

The eggs have to make a symmetrical pattern in the box otherwise something doesn't feel right.
They used to do boxes of 15, which worked perfectly. Now it's either 6 or 12, both of which potentially require you to adjust the number of eggs you eat to get a symmetrical pattern.
It is both necessary and sufficient that the number of holes in the egg box should be an odd number.
Nine and fifteen work really well. All the other odd numbers are either too big, or negative, or prime, which would be impractical.8 -
My coworker passed in February and recently LinkedIn generated her automated 30th work anniversary post. Tons of people commented "congrats." I commented "rip 💔" and after my comment people kept commenting "congrats." Your LinkedIn connections do not know or care if you are alive or dead. Everyone's just doing what the algorithm wants. It's dystopian.11

Non technical people are interesting. Not only do we have to switch to unga bunga language to help them, but they accuse us of man-splaining when we do.5
