The feeling when, as a junior dev, you realize the code base is a mess and learning from the senior devs is more accurately learning the preferences of the senior devs. There is no "right" way to do things.
Also, how did anyone get anything at scale with JS before typescript!?2 -
Me doing front-end work and get a stupid feature request from a customer...."I'll have to talk to our back-end developer and DBA to see if those changes are possible".
Guess what...Im the back-end developer and DBA and the answer is "hell no".2 -
Me: *clicks on quick web design demonstration video*
All website builder ads: Fuck your entire profession!2 -
People on stackoverflow are really just the worst. Ok whatever, you have 20 years of experience more than me, and you've written code in dozens of languages. Doesn't grant you being a dick to me and downvote my answer just because it could've been written in 1 line instead of 5.12

They call it $5/gb hotel wifi, i call it free uncapped 100meg fibre because your security sucks
Oh and they host their entire POS (and database with backups) on the same network accessible to every TV in the hotel18 -
Teacher : Explain two parallel lines.
Me : Lines that never intersect
Teacher : Good. Can u explain it with an example.
Me : Me and my crush.
*Whole class laughing, still don't have a clue what I said wrong. That's as real as it fucking gets.*
Fucking education system. No real world examples.3 -

Yesterday I was updating the code in a linux server at 23:00.
My 6 year son look the terminal while i was typing and said:
"Dad, why you always write in block letters? I can read and write also in italics."
"Dear son, you are smarter than my PC."11 -
My anxiety is kicking in again.
I want to build something meaningful outside of work but my mind is blank, I have no ideas to implement, and whenever one pops up in my head, I DDG it, I find that there's someone who already built something similar and I lose all interest.
I want to code, but I'm tired of solving fictional problems.
I miss being excited to learn a new tech, since I know I would ditch it if I can't find anything to build with it.
This is causing me to lose all motivation to code and learn, I really hope this is just a phase 。゚・(>﹏<)・゚。17
