Google is full of assholes!
Just paid $25 dollars to list my app on google play store. Within 15 minutes of submitting the app, it got de-listed.
Reason:
Impersonation
Who am I impersonating?
The logo is impersonating the logo shown on MY OWN website!!!
How dafuq can you impersonate your own intellectual property?????
Contacted them back using their form. Didn't even call them "cunts". Asked to have it reviewed.
After waiting 7 business days, started sending them 1 email a day. On day 11 I sent 100 identical email asking them to review it.
Today (day 12), they cleared the app. I got this reply back.
"We found that your app was not in violation of our policies"

I am bloody sick of being on my own.
I was the sole dev at the last few jobs I've held, with the exception of API Guy -- who didn't really help much, and who got fired / quit six months after I started. Every other job I've either been the only dev, or the only web dev. (Exception:My boss at my previous job was a Rails dev, but he has zero time to code, and was significantly less experiened so he could only rarely help anyway.)
But now I'm in a company with a bunch of other devs, and they're all ostensibly senior devs, so you'd think I should be able to ask questions, right? And get answers? that actually help? like "Hey, you built this; how does it work?" No bloody way.
So far every time I've asked someone for help, they've been incompetent. I asked about what a few flags did, and got an answer that basically said "you just gotta know. oh, and the labels aren't up to date, so don't trust what they say." I asked the head of the "product team" about a ticket that he wrote, and he changed what it meant four times within two days. I asked about another, and he said "oh, that isn't reproduceable." Thanks. I asked about mailers, and got two very different, very incompete walkthroughs from the more senior devs (9+ years on this codebase) that didn't help. I asked two people about how users and roles work, and still have no idea what kind of user (there are like twelve?) is what, what roles even exist, or how to check for permissions. `@current_user` is a thing, but idfk what it holds since that can change considerably, and there's an impersonation feature that changes how it works, too. I ask the product guy again about where to link something, and he has no idea. I ask said product guy about what this feature needs to do, and he doesn't know. I ask what the legal team needs, and i get nothing. I ask the designer where the goddamn CSS lives, and he doesn't know; he apparently just puts it wherever he feels like, even if it's a completely unrelated stylesheet. As long as it works, right?
I ask very simple and straighforward questions, and it takes them forever to get back to me saying what amounts to "idk, ask someone else."
This feels like the same crap all over again, except now there are a bunch of devs I can ask that give me basically the same answers as the sales people always did. Always "idk" or a confusing mess of an 'answer' that skips most/all of the important bits. At least these people don't [usually] contradict themselves.
So, @Root is all alone, again.
And currounded by incompetence.
Again.
For fuck's sake.
Can't I catch a break?19 -
Lead dev: Hey boss, you really do like Python right?
Me: No
Lead dev: Well it's cuz I was think....wait what? WTF do you mean no, you have automated a fuckload of BS with Python and we are still using it, why tf would you use Python if you don't like it?
Me: I like it enough for the automation scripts that we have and for parsing documents or generating glue scripts, its already installed in every server that we have, so testing bs in dev and then using them in prod is cake, it doesn't mean I LOVE python, I like it for what we use it.
Lead dev: Well ain't already bash and perl installed as well?
Me: Do you know bash and or perl?
Lead dev: No, don't you?....
Me: No......
L Dev: (using a Jim Carrey impersonation) WELLL ALLRIGTHY THEN! What is the other language that you used for X project?
Me: Clojure, do you remember that one?
* he said paren paren paren paren yes paren i space paren do close paren close paren etc etc
L Dev: (((((((yes (i (do)))))))) and nevermind, I'll get back to working more with Python
Me: das what I fucking thought esse6 -
I just had to give my self a written copyright permission to publish an android app for related to my own website as it was violating googles impersonation policy without it.
And the best part about all this, is it took google 3 days to respond to my initial complaint just to find out the reason why they suspended my app and than another 2 days to resolve it all, after I provided all the "legal" documents1 -
Hey! Heard you like scams.
Seriously, what even is this? I heard about this, but didn't think it would happen to me.
Also based on what they want to be doing with another person's computer can also double as a botnet too.14 -
It does give you that cold rush feeling, when a low level support agent can just use some sort of "user impersonation" feature and literally send you screenshots of your conversations or other, what seems private information and should be only used for actual escalated staff, for when there's a need for an actual middleman (ie. client not paying - logs review) and for everything else there should be a test account they can do screenshots from, e.g. for general website use questions3

I thought that making an android game was gonna be easy.
And it was easy.
I created everything from zero: logo, banners, UI, etc.
Yet today was uploading an update for internal test (friends and whatnot) and 2 minutes later I get an email from Google saying that my recent update was rejected due to "violation of impersonation policy".
Like what the heck
Did my research on the type of game I was doing, and nothing matched with what I was doing and yet I got banhammered :(1 -
HOW TO TRACE AND RECOVER LOST/STOLEN BITCOIN VISIT CYBER CONSTABLE INTELLIGENCE
Have you ever experienced being scammed in the past, whether through investment or impersonation? It’s crucial to remember that feeling ashamed of mistakes is unnecessary, as these experiences contribute to our growth and wisdom. Fortunately, there are now solutions available for recovering lost funds, and my personal experience with Cyber Constable Intelligence is a testament to their effectiveness. My ordeal began with what I believed to be a promising investment opportunity. I had invested £209,000 into a website that seemed legitimate and was promising significant returns. Over just two weeks, I saw my investment grow by over £190,000 in profits. The platform’s claims and the rapid increase in my account balance made me feel confident and optimistic about the future. However, when I attempted to withdraw my profits, things took a sudden turn for the worse. I received a message instructing me to contact support to process the withdrawal. Naively, I followed the instructions, only to discover that my supposed profits were fabricated. The realization that I had been scammed and that my funds were effectively trapped on a fraudulent website was deeply unsettling. The anxiety and frustration were compounded by the fact that my initial investment was now at risk, and all my plans based on those profits came to an abrupt halt. Desperate to reclaim my money, I explored every possible avenue I could think of. I tried contacting the platform’s support, sought advice from online forums, and even reached out to local authorities. Despite my best efforts, I found that none of these actions led to a resolution. Each attempt seemed to bring more frustration and despair, and the hope of recovering my funds seemed to diminish. It was during this challenging period that I heard about Cyber Constable Intelligence. I had initially been skeptical about their services, but given the gravity of my situation and the unsuccessful outcomes of my previous attempts, I decided to give them a chance. Now that my original funds are safely recovered, I can shift my focus to more reliable and resourceful investment opportunities, ones that do not involve the risks and uncertainties associated with digital scams.
