I recently won a "Hack the Bank" competition where I had to hack an ATM and withdraw a large sum of money.
But what's funny, is that after the competition ended, the organizers installed Kali on the actual ATM.

Went to hackathon @ Google HQ in NYC. Gotta say it was pretty shitty. Most people are JavaScript nerds and some code in objective-C, xcode (4-5 out of 50). The rest are chemists, scientists and general folks. Not what I anticipated when you know it's more like iOS hackathon. Anyways it was good to see the shittiest demos in my life made in less than 12 hours. We had 4.5 people working on a toilet project called "I gotta go". Public bathroom locator... One guy coded in JS, xcode and react Native. Another dude was pushing all the code to GitHub and doing backend in firebase. The third guy was making a website for no reason and then I see it's hosted weebly. He hand coded first, I looked what he is doing - just HTML tags. Thank God some organizers helped us and we had a 4 click demo with basic text and no real functionality. Plus the website who never seen. What a fucking waste of $100 and two days.4

Not a rant - just wondering if anyone else witnessed a really awkward closing talk at a conference.
Attended a mandatory JS conference yesterday where all the speakers gave the typical conference talks on new ideas, frameworks, packages with code demonstrations. Most of talks were great and the some of the speakers were extremly humorous making the whole audience laugh which is hard to do. The talk right before the keynote speaker was like this.
Then the keynote started...
The end presenter was an asian-american woman (normally would not metion race/ gender but it’s important to the story) whose talk was basically how the white males of the world are controlling tech an their bias and privilege are marginalizing the rest of us who are not white american ‘cis-males’
She had no data and weak examples, such as sensors on automatic soap despeners not working on darker skins tones (that’s not racist it’s physics). Another example was a plugin where true=male and false=female. That is not gender biased it’s just lazy programming.
At one point she said:
“Have you even been to a party at a rich white guy’s house? There boring! I’m sorry”
This was just a talk about her feelings, if I was not surrounded by my coworkers I would have left.
I feel like this was not appropiate talk for one track conference since it traps everyone into listening. Especially where attendance is obligatory by your employer.
The conference should have warned people it would be an uncomfortable talk and invite people to start happy hour early if they chose.
To add to the weirdness in the closing remarks of one of the organizers patted himself on the back for supplying the women’s bathroom with tampons. He even created a slide for it with a tampon illustration.
Example slide from her deck.

I have recently attended an IT conference for finance sector.
In invitation organizers stated that dress code is casual.
Me : Jeans, funny t-shirt, trainers
Everyone : Full suit, dress shoes or 'casual' version : suit and white sneakers.10 -
*LOL* The animal rights organisation PETA criticises the use of donkeys in the traditional Passion play in Oberammergau, Bavaria, Germany. PETA claims that Jesus would ride into Jerusalem on an e-scooter.

I applied for two technical talks in a popular conference summit, the two talks were turned down and the reason was that they are much more technical talks than mine. I switched to watch the live stream today and all i see is a bunch of stupid talks (they decided to pick a talk on git aliases over working with change streams and multi document transactions in mongodb). A friend of mine just told me, your talk won't be accepted if you don't know any of the organizers3

This year marks our 5th anniversary of devopsdays in Amsterdam and the whole team is working hard on making it the most awesome experience of 2017 for anyone interested in the devops movement. :)
I really believe this will make us be less frustrated and rant less! Though, I never want this app to end! =]
But what is an amazing conference without amazing talks? That's where you come into the picture. We have spots open for talks (lightning and non-lightning) and workshops.
If you feel like you have a valuable devops story to share please fill in our CfP here - https://devopsdays.typeform.com/to/... .
You can expect about 300-400 people at a talk and somewhere between 10-30 at workshops.
When is it? 28th-30th of June (2017)
Why Amsterdam? Amsterdam is pretty cool. We make it extra cool and make sure you're never hungry or thirsty.
Hope to see you there!
And I need to see devRanters there to share the best stories!

So just babbling my shit down here.
(Tldr : i am a crazy guy who followed my half slept brain, went onto a stage , gave some kind of motivating , stammering talk to a large group of professional strangers, enjoyed that day with a red embarrassed face and just got my first pic of me speaking on stage and that is so awesome !)
Last Saturday i went to a gdg meetup and i embarrassed the hell out of me.
I went there with just 2 hours of sleep from the previous night.
After a few talks there comes a guy who is taking some time to install is setup and the host calls for lightning round session ( ie he asks if anyone from the audience would like to share something about their product or something).
I am a fucking nutt guy. I can explain something to you nicely in a hacky way as long as i have done enough work on that and you speak my native language.
But giving a talk on English stage, hell no! I stammer, mix hindi with English and start speaking werd shit.. And that's what happened.
I don't know what went into me but as some guy went to the stage and talked for 2 mins, i was like yeah i want to do that too. So in next turn when he asked for a show of hands, i raised mine and fucking went to stage!
I forgot that if you go on stage you should have something to talk to . But the moment i was on stage, i was like... "Nope, we will do this differently".
I had been working on a video ads module from the last week which could be easily explained in 2 mins. But i felt like giving a non techy talk instead.
It went something like this: i introduced myself with my experience details ( who gives experience details on stage !?!) Then host said to speak loudly and i went like "Bharat mata ki jai!"( Victory to mother india (wtf!?😆) .
Then started talking about how the developers feel disheartened when searching on internet where the resources are scattered . And the solution i told them was :"don't be disheartened. You will eventually find it (like wow dude wtf, as if they didn't knew that) . Look on the youtube and other resources " and then went full on explaining/marketing about some online tutor who gives advice/consultancy via a subscription based payment ( tbf that guy really helped solve a lot of my doubts, he has written books on Android dev and is the top so answerer for Android).
Then i went on sharing my thoughts live on that fuckin stage ! ( Live because i usually post my thoughts here on devrant before discussing them out with real people, you guys are my safe space) but there i discussed my thoughts on libraries!
I have this believe that Android devs these days are having lesser knowledge of the system because we have all the libraries and templates available to us. But when we have to customize stuff, we need to go deep into docs and source classes and find ourselves in trouble there. So i kind of said this out loud and that we should try to read more the code and implement stuff ourselves instead of using the library 😅🙈)
I was feeling so fucking embarrassing after that all stuff! It was so full of stammering , broken English and worst attempt at motivation. At that time i was regretting this and about to burst cry and run away, but somehow i gathered my self, got my mood back to the event games and talks, later went to the organizers and apologized(and they were very nice and didn't cared about it), and overall enjoyed my weirdest day!
When i came home, my mom gave me a little more confidence about it. Now i think i shouldn't be that much instinctive. Next day i went hack to work and everything got normal.
But Yesterday i found a link to the public repository of the photos. Ohh fuck, someone had took my image! and that was too in full hd!!! 🙈🙈🙈😅😆😆 Oh mann I can't stop looking at that cool stage speaker image, i love it ! I, the shy-est and the most uncool awkward person , present on the stage with a mike, oof , i think i lived my dream !
I hope i could get enough confidence and speaking skills to take a real stage talk next time ( and maybe enough interesting talks and confidence to talk with girls of our office, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )5 -
This motherfucking conference!
I've been waiting for over a day for the fucking notification to come out. The way it is going, were I in Aus the notification would be two fucking days late. If this translates into rejection, I'd like the organizers to drink boiling lava and then get fucked in the arse with frozen lava; cuz the delay is a fucking nerve wracker!3 -
I hate web development
I mean why it has to be everywhere and so important.
I joined college my friend calls 4 days before my quantum physics test. Asks if I wanted to do internship. My reply sure.
( Level of knowledge at that time no idea what API is, what react is but it's just making webpages ) made a nice homepage within 4 hours of YouTube 2 tutorials and 2 developing that. Friend appreciated his manager also liked.
But failed to deliver the complete e-commerce website's frontend.
Comes next, hackathon nothing related to Android specific( I like coding for Android) need webdev in one way or other. One senior asks if want to go together sees my GitHub and rejects politely by my skills ( I would have too).
Went on with my 2 more friends with thought of making an all Android app guys team, next week team breaks. I then got offer from a friend to join with them in web development I agreed now prepare for web development.
Team was rejected internal politics of organizers ( would take no all fresher's team).
Dropped learning webd.
Now started flutter and it feels good and comfortable but stability isn't permanent.
Now seeing GSoC
Sigh...Most requirements are for web , hacktober fest also had things related to web maybe I don't recall. Still thinking about it sigh...
Got selected for college app development team. The head had to be one with excellent webd skills.
Now college provides funding for projects and ideas, prototype requires making prototype. Most easiest thing to work on

Try bullet journaling.
Just set a phone alert to update it before bed and when you wake up (to refresh your memory and jot down things you forgot).
And prioritize tasks. You can mark some tasks for later, even for a different month.
Some people like digital organizers (and I use those too) but I like pen and paper. YMMV1 -
Ok, now seriously. Am I the only one bothered with all those fancy congresses and cool events that first open up the speaker list, rush you on buying the tickets, raise prices, and... AGES later, weeks before the event day maybe, they finally release what the heck they'll be speaking about?
I totally understand those who go to events mostly for networking, but c'mon event organizers, focus on the topics, no the person on the stage. They're just the mean to spread knowledge, NOT its own embodiment. -
A community-based project which aspires to democratize learning. The platform assists you in identifying webinars happening across the world in various domains. It makes your discovery for relevant content simpler and also assists webinar organizers.7

Working at a large insurance company part of a larger organization and and said organization wanted all of the plans to call into a conference call meeting....
Started off, the meeting organizers phone cut out halfway through to roll call...
We all call back in, and start the roll call again...from the beginning...
Half the meeting was just a roll call >< -

HIRE A HACKER TO RECOVER STOLEN BTC / USDT / BNB - DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY
I was instantly drawn to the idea of the Dubai Cryptocurrency Summit. As a startup founder deeply involved in fintech, the allure wasn’t just the professional opportunity it was the entire package. Dubai’s reputation for luxury, innovation, and ambition made it feel like the perfect setting for a high-profile cryptocurrency event. The promotional materials played into that image perfectly sleek branding, glamorous images of the Burj Khalifa, luxury hotels, exclusive networking lounges, and promises of elite industry attendees from around the globe. The event promised a premium experience that aligned perfectly with the bold, forward-thinking vision I had for my company. I pictured myself networking in rooftop lounges, pitching to investors, and forming strategic partnerships in a city known for embracing blockchain and crypto innovation. Everything about the summit matched Dubai’s reputation high-end, cutting-edge, and full of opportunity. The "premium sponsorship package" was offered at $25,000 in Bitcoin, and it promised a speaking slot, a branded booth, marketing exposure, and exclusive access to investor roundtables. It felt like a fast track to recognition and growth, all set against a backdrop of luxury and global innovation. The polished website, active social media pages, and impressive list of supposed sponsors and speakers all added to the credibility. It seemed too good to pass up. But as the event date approached, red flags began to appear. The summit’s website started glitching, emails to the organizers bounced back, and their social media accounts disappeared. That’s when the harsh truth hit me: the Dubai Cryptocurrency Summit was a scam. The event never existed, and I had sent $25,000 in Bitcoin into thin air. I contacted DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY, a firm specializing in cryptocurrency scam investigations. Using advanced tracking tools, they traced my Bitcoin through complex wallets and eventually to a Dubai-based crypto exchange. Working with local authorities, they managed to freeze the scam wallet and recover $22,000 of my funds. While it wasn’t the full amount, it was a significant victory.

The arena of crypto gaming is full of excitement and promises of big rewards, but it can also be deceiving, filled with scams that target the unwary. I learned this lesson the hard way when I joined a "play-to-earn" tournament that turned out to be a scam. The organizers asked for a 5,000 USDC entry fee, which I paid, eager to see the potential returns. But as soon as they received my payment, they locked me out of the platform and vanished without a trace. It was a classic fraud where the developers take the investors' funds and disappear, leaving no way to recover your money. At first, I felt a sense of powerlessness and frustration. I had been tricked, and I was left with nothing. But I wasn’t ready to accept this loss. I knew I had to fight back. I decided to reach out to DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY, a firm that specializes in handling crypto fraud cases. They were quick to respond, and their team took immediate action. They infiltrated the scam’s Discord group, where they began gathering evidence of the scam’s operations. They tracked the transactions to see where the stolen funds were being funneled. With DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY's help, I learned how to trace the wallet movements and better understand how the scam was executed. The recovery team at DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY worked tirelessly, piecing together the puzzle of stolen funds and identifying ways to recover some of my losses. While it wasn’t easy, the experience taught me an invaluable lesson: always do thorough research before joining any crypto project, especially ones with high entry fees. The crypto space, especially crypto gaming, can be full of risks, and if you're not careful, it can cost you dearly. What stood out the most from this experience was how easily things can go wrong if you're not cautious. Scammers thrive on the excitement and optimism that come with the idea of easy money in the crypto world, preying on those looking for a quick return. However, there’s also a silver lining to this story: even in the world of crypto gaming, where scams are rampant, there are ways to fight back. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, don’t lose hope. Seek out expert help DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY specializes in crypto recovery, and they can help you get your funds back. In the end, my costly lesson in crypto gaming wasn’t just about losing money. It was about resilience and knowing that even in the face of fraud, there’s always a chance to recover and move forward with the help of DIGITAL TECH GUARD RECOVERY.2 -
HOW TO RECOVER YOUR SCAMMED BITCOIN/USDT/ ETH / WITH PROFICIENT EXPERT CONSULTANT
After a natural disaster struck, I felt an overwhelming compulsion to help those in dire need. Social media was abuzz with influencers fervently promoting a relief fund that promised immediate assistance to the affected communities. The emotional narratives and compelling visuals tugged at my heartstrings, and I decided to donate 10 ETH, believing I was making a meaningful contribution to a worthy cause. Months passed, and I began to notice a conspicuous lack of updates from the relief fund. My initial excitement morphed into concern as I searched for information about how the donations were being utilized. It was then that I stumbled upon a shocking revelation: the relief fund was a scam. How Adware Recovery Specialist Helped Me Recover $10,000 from a Forex Trading Scam
For the past three years, I’ve immersed myself in the world of Forex trading—learning new strategies, refining my skills, and seeking every opportunity to grow. One such opportunity was an online Forex trading contest that initially seemed like a golden ticket to success. The contest was promoted by a company that appeared reputable; the website was professionally designed, and the contest rules were clear, which made it all seem legitimate.
Intrigued by the promise of a large cash reward, I decided to participate. The registration fee was set at $1,000—a price that seemed acceptable considering the potential return. I eagerly paid the fee and received an email confirming that I had advanced to the next stage of the contest. However, the excitement quickly turned to apprehension when I was informed that I needed to pay an additional $2,000 for shipping costs related to the prize package.
At that moment, I had already invested $3,000 in what I believed was my path to a substantial prize. Trusting the process, I paid the shipping fee, assuming it was a necessary step toward securing my reward. But after that payment, the promised prize never arrived, and the communication from the organizers went silent. WhatsApp info:+12 (72332)—8343
Realizing something was wrong, I began to research the contest and the company behind it. To my dismay, I found numerous reports from other participants who had fallen victim to the same scheme, each losing significant sums of money. In total, I discovered I had lost $10,000—$1,000 for registration and an additional $9,000 over time in shipping fees. It was clear that I had been scammed. Feeling frustrated and helpless, I searched for ways to reclaim my lost money. That’s when I discovered ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST—a team of professionals dedicated to recovering funds lost to online scams. I reached out to them, and their experts immediately took over my case. Using advanced tracking techniques and digital forensics, they traced the scam’s trail, identified the fraudulent transactions, and ultimately managed to recover my stolen funds.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST, I was able to have my $10,000 returned. This experience was a harsh reminder of the importance of doing thorough research before engaging in any online contests or financial commitments. It taught me to be cautious, to question offers that seem too good to be true, and to always verify the legitimacy of any online opportunity. I share my story in hopes that it serves as a cautionary tale for others in the Forex trading community. While I was fortunate to recover my funds with the help of ADWARE RECOVERY SPECIALIST, not everyone is so lucky.
