"Trinidad And Tobago" changed their country name to "Trinidad & Tobago", and the .Net framework reflected that change.
So that's why this unit test is failing.
I GUESS BULLSHIT IS NOW INTERNATIONAL.2
Game dev update: I'm procrastinating the project cuz I need help with stupid background and it doesnt mix well so Im just contemplating existence
But I did this for fun8
Hello, I am new to DevRant!
I was fed up with Windows 10(broken search, start menu etc), hence I installed Ubuntu on one of my PC's.
Now the issue is that my Ubuntu System boots very slowly!
I have a Docker Container + Some apps in startup! It used to boot up very quickly IDK after a week of use it has gotten considerably slower!
So I suck at scripts, windows scripts namely. I need a script to monitor a program on machine and send an email if it goes down. There are eight instances running on the machine and they can be determined to be working if a specific port is open, one port per instance. I have no clue where to start and I thought it could be done with some existing service or script. Suggestions?10
I have 10 days off remaining for this year... Basically 2 effective weeks...
What should I do:
A) 2 week holiday
B) 2 x single week
C) carryover to 2021 for maybe real holiday
D) a day for each week
Choose wisely 😆 It's my effin holiday 🤦♂️7
I'm interning and working on something above my skill level and it works for the most part but I think I may have done it completely wrong for like the past week :') everyone is on paid vacation and I'm just sitting here like a baby bird with a broken wing
Pls no anger if it doesn't do exactly what it is supposed to. I am frail.2
Guys which fucken anti-virus do you recommend for free, which doesn't throw around with ads like crazy?😵
I know this might kinda start a war and some of you want me to use linux.
Sadly, win10 is a must.😛
Girlfriend managed to catch some encryption fuck-up..
I made her use sophos home before, but it seems like sophos isn't self-acting enough..
I hope you have some ideas..26
I've been given a huge stack of paper, some users stories and loose specs. Was tasked with engineering the specific requirements, then the models and finally the database. Then I need to build an API on top of that.
Stuff I'll use is Go and Postgresql. Small issue is, I've never done DBs, so I've no idea what to do or where to start.
Does anyone have any resources to help kick-start myself in this field? I've been reading on SQL, but that doesn't really tell me anything about data structures and how to transform those user stories into product requirements.6
Does anyone have any recommendations regarding self hosted documentation/"note taking" platform/server ?
I would like something with markup support, I've looked at the awesome list for self hosted services on GitHub... But there is a lot... So does anyone has any experience he or she is willing to share ? 😇
Dillinger looks nice (https://dillinger.io/) but no idea if I can save to my server instead of locally/cloud services...4
Super curious: Ive broken my arch frequently. And then fix it and go on with my day. Or an update causes some weird package confliction because I used pip instead of pacman for one library or whatever.
But I keep hearing from different sources that "arch being super unstable is a myth. It never happens!" Okay surely not all the time, my system is usually pretty good but:
Do you people never `pacman -Syyu` ?
How have you not broken everything?! Or do you just pretend like the AUR (the best thing ever and also the source of most of my problems) doesn't exist? What black magic are you doing to appease the arch gods?8
Anyone know how to go about unit testing an application that is made up of:
(React using Typescript of course).
Electron has its own framework (Spectron), people seem to use Mocha with Node, React has its own tools like React testing library (and testing UI components will probably end me) and Typescript seems to play best with Jest - but a special Typescript flavour of Jest called ts-jest is preferable because the only other option is having Babel and its Typescript support that doesn't type check.
I want to beg for the sweet release of death.4
That feeling when you insert the driver disk for a wireless adapter to find they actually do provide Linux drivers!!!!!
Nobody ever provides Linux drivers, this is a god send! Thank you!
That feeling when they don't compile correctly! Damn you! ASUS pls. Halp. You're so close to being amazing.
Is it better to implement a cryptpgraphic algo in a function or in a class? Also how?
I have a cryptography class and I really enjoy implementing the different techniques that we study in class. At first I was just implementing the techniques in a simple function with 3 parameters; key, message and a bool for encryption or decryption. But as they are getting more complex, it is becoming harder to continue implementing them in a single function block. So I thought of using a class but ran into the problem of how do I even do that? Do I make different methods for key generation, encrypting and decrypting?
P.S. It's really just for learning how the crypto technique works and not for anything serious.12
All app/web layout designers, I need your help with layouts for my app. I am struggling with a very specific thing: image sizes. What are the general guidelines for touch devices and windowed programs? Should I eyeball the max width and height? What if it's on desktop and I am making the window larger / smaller?
Any help is absolutely appreciated, I had perfect success in all of what I worked on in the app until now except this. I just can't get it right.5
Okay soo... I have been working on a "notepad" script using bash. I basically have finished it but it lacks one thing. Verification if the user has typed anything! I started searching on google how i could do that, and found nothing (lol).
I'm asking help from you people :D
Here's the code that doesn't work.
while [[ $name != 'name' ]] || [[ $name == '' ]]
read -rp "What would you like the file name to be? The file extension is .txt!$(echo -ne '\n: ')" name
echo "Enter a valid file name please."
There's probably one small thing wrong anyway lol
Did I go south, or I really am stuck in ES6 while ES9 is the thing going on or what is goinnnnnnnng on pls.
I start my new internship in a week. Its Java (springboot), angular, and the most popular testing tech for each. I know some of each, and no testing. PLS HALP. Want to impress.11
