First internship: accepted within two weeks, only got to do Google translating and fired after five weeks for bs reasons.
Grade: bad.
Second internship: accepted right after the interview. Rewrote websites to their newest cms, not that fun sometimes but alright.
Grade: pretty alright.
Third internship: was accepted without asking after a successful pilot program from my study. Designing and developing a huge back end system, done some smart light bulb hacking and get to solve server problems.
Grade: Great! Just one little thingy: they said I should stop doubting myself because "you're a great dude and programmer!"
It's getting better and better!3 -
Is it just me, or is it extremely frustrating that we get so little time for our side projects? I can only manage like 3 hours every night, losing up on sleep.. 😢5

when you are a 19yo trying to build a portfolio and you have a mother bashing everyday that you only spend time "at the computer" and I should get "a real job" and that "your dream will never come true" really is the biggest disappointment of my dev life.
It just builds pressure and sads me. She doesn't support me cuz I'm not "doing any money".
I feel like I should just quit everything or even disappear from this shitrock that is called earth....19 -
I have been commenting a lot recently on linux ranters who rant about windows for stupid reasons.
To all these people who think linux is better and they are smart(er) than windows users, i say:
We use windows in the company I work for. And if you are a linux user, you're just not welcome and your skills are just a waste for the company. And yes it is a successful company with 100s of millions of euros as net revenue.
Our users have windows machines and we offer topnotch Microsoft solutions for them.
When you ask me to switch to linux because of a problem i had in a Windows machine, it makes me feel that you are a stupid person who knows about linux and gives solutions based on his stupidity and on zero knowledge of the scenario.
Please be professional and think about the solution you are offering. It would be best if you did not offer any solution at all in fact.13 -
when i worked in IT, some coworkers told me to install some stuff in the "happy" and delete some files from the "surprised". I spend several days confused, until they explained me... Idk if they are idiots or geniuses.
happy disk (C:)
surprised disk (D:)
maybe they were both.7 -
"I dont like the way that you splitted your code into multiple small files. Simply put every logic into one controller." - so called "frontend architect" after reviewing a team's Angular code. I dont know what to think.2

Leave a job for a much better job and the old job hires you freelance to do your old job. Feels dirty, but good.5

Senior architect-type person at work wants me to review some code he's written. Is it on GitHub/Gitlab/Bitbucket etc? Nope. "Here, I've printed it out for you. " 😂
When was the last time you printed code out? Also it's in black and white, times new roman😱💀20
