Time to move my mailserver!
I am having an inner struggle about what distro/OS to use:

Debian
CentOS
Ubuntu
FreeBSD
OpenBSD

What should I use? Why?

I have to confess. I'm a distro hopper. I've been a distro hopper ever since last year, and it got me tired. I spend entire hours checking distrowatch, partitioning, setting up hardware and drivers and passwords... I've tried to stop, I swear, but every time I do, there goes a new Solus release, an Openbox Debian based new branch, a forensic floppy disk that I know that I won't ever use for real. I just love assigning swap, fighting with rEFInd icons, testing modules, navigate trough different configs... Oh God, I even set up a virtual OpenBSD, just to see what it can do.
My friends have been telling me to stop, because I don't take care of our relation, that I'm becoming a monster. It's shameful and embarrassing to me when they ask me about my day and I say "you know, installing Manjaro on my desktop, and Lubuntu to that crappy old Asus I have for backups" I think I'm going to lose my head some day, this sickness is driving me straight down to the Slackware pits. I should stop it before I try Ratpoison environment but truth be told; I mean not to stop. I'm a distro hopper.

On a different note, _Deus Ex_ is by far my favourite video game. However, OpenBSD, which is my favourite operating system, does not support playing _Deus Ex_; as such, I was forced to improvise.
I own a few servers which run Ubuntu Linux, which can run VirtualBox, which can run Microsoft Windows XP, which can play _Deus Ex_. As such, I relocated my copy of Windows XP and spun up a new virtual machine, installing the operating system and the video game. After some minor hiccups, _Deus Ex_ was played without any difficulties, aside from the lack of audio, which resulted from having used VNC to access the virtual machine.
This set-up is janky, for I access the game by connecting via VNC to an Ubuntu installation which runs a virtual installation of Microsoft Windows... which runs _Deus Ex_ in windowed mode; however, I find that using this janky set-up is preferable to not being able to play _Deus Ex_.

On an even _more_ different note, future rants may be written in the third person; possibly as a result of having written briefings and whatnot in the third person for nearly two (2) decades and disliking pronouns, I dislike writing in the first person. I shall still be the author of the rants which are posted to this account.

What is the point of using either Windows or macOS instead of GNU for development these days if you are neither an enterprise developer nor a visual designer?

Seeing as linux might be going down the shitter soon, could the, 'btw I use arch", meme be replaced with, "btw I use OpenBSD"?

Is there a good, free software only, security and privacy focused Linux distro out there? I am basically searching for an OpenBSD but as GNU/Linux.

Today I installed OpenBSD on my i386 IBM ThinkPad T42. Yes, Windows XP works way better because of the drivers availability. But there is nothing quite like browsing Gopher on an old ThinkPad knowing you’re safe.

GhostBSD is a pretty nice try at an out-of-the-box BSD experience. Almost everything works fine on my laptop, the only issues so far being screen tearing in Firefox and flaky WiFi (what else, this is a *nix after all).

Check it out if you're interested in trying a BSD without a lot of config headache.

(That said OpenBSD is still my favourite)
