Search - "rsi"
You know the code is in bad shape when you see variables starting with "get":
No one talks about the health of programmers, rsi and carpel tunnel syndrome is real... health should be paramount4
I may have fucked up my wrist by coding too much 😢 now I have to let it rest. I really hope it's gonna be okay soon.7
A box with 20 blotters of LSD, a bottle of Tawny Port, some rock climber's hand strength training clay which is great against RSI, a very undomesticated purring feline, some leatherworking tools (making a new folding case for my phone), 2 sesame bagels with cream cheese, a piece of cherry wood, two routers (one woodworking, one internet), one Ducky Horizon and one ErgoDox keyboard, two boxes of baby wipes and a bottle of formula, an expired ticket to a corona-cancelled concert, my sleeping newborn daughter wrapped in a black hoodie, a bottle of cognac, 3x 1440p displays, a chunk of chocolate, one freshly brewed cortado, a bottle of dimethylsulfoxide, 3 laptops, a TV remote, a glass of water, and one bolt which was left over from an IKEA box but I'm unsure which furniture item it belongs to.4
The salary I would make if I understood this shit is not worth my sanity. Most people develop a career, but all I seem to develop is RSI and a seething hatred for humanity.1
Just joined a company 1 week ago and I was tasked to build a cryptocurrency bot in trading view using pinescript. The problem here is that I have zero knowledge in trading, charts , indicators etc and Pinescript is such a miserable language and I am so bored of this.
On top of that, nothing here makes sense. Tried learning trading on my own and it is simply boring and I don't understand many things here such as RSI, ATR etc . Sometimes I feel like quitting this job because I feel that I cannot deliver and at the same time I am afraid that I am quitting too soon before even giving a try.22
Old app = DOS, keyboard only, shortcut keys..
Newer app = WIMP, keyboard mouse, lots of RSI issues as the mouse track from side to side of the screen all the time..
Modern apps = designed for mobile devices where you scrolls the window with a flick and it dashes past 10 windows at a time before it comes to a stop..
Whilst, do that on a PC with a mouse scroll wheel, takes forever to get to up or down huge 100 page sites/apps !
I'm reminded of devRant here..
Solutions = Options !
Everyone loves keyboard shortcuts..
Everyone loves alternative layout options..
Otherwise my fingers are going to wear out !
How do you guys and gals combat RSI? Starting to get pains in my forearms... After a day of coding when I get home I have to prop the right hand side of my keyboard up to game as it gets rid of some of the discomfort...6
Now I know why many religious books include a rule against this..
It's so you don't get RSI and can't type much..
> Repetitive strain injury6
RSI. Seriously I thought I am immune for the last two decades and now it's catching up on me. One of these days I'm gonna really learn VIM just to cut down on mouse usage.1
If you belong to thousands, you'd think there would be an alphabetical sorting function wouldn't you..
But no, they are about as easy to access as if no one had even considered that people might belong to more than half a dozen groups !
(Yes I know, the average number of groups folk belong to is 12..)
They recently changed the group listing from a grid, to a list..
So now, instead of expanding the grid with say 20 clicks, I have to scroll a list with 2 or 3 times as many clicks !
In other systems, the entire list just scrolls without needing any clicking !!!
RSI folks !
Who designs this shit.
I want to check one specific group, takes me 5 minutes to just find it !
Not productive software design at all !!!3
pip kept screwing me up with permission issues in /usr/local etc. Changed permissions for respective python folders, still got pip permission errors, did a chgrp - R user /usr.
Have to reinstall :/4
Someone has a good keyboard to recommend? I've been dealing with RSI in both my wrists/hands for a while, so I'm looking for a soft, responsive keyboard that doesn't put weight or strain on the wrists.1
How do you guys deal with RSI and back issues?
My back has been killing me this past week and hands are starting to strain with work and home PC use. I plan on restarting my exercising for my back.4
There is nothing worse than trying to program while having RSI, it’s either you have your wrist support on and type slowly and hit multiple keys, or you have it off, type slowly and live with the pain3
Really wish the likes of JetBrains would hurry up and offer an LSP server for every language. I'm categorically not interested in using PHPstorm because my RSI makes it impractical but I'd be happy to shell out for an LSP I can use with Neovim9
Someone was being nasty to me on a social media platform I use, and I reckon the next message they would call me a liar, so pre-empting their unpleasantness (They have a history of that going back 20+ years..) I posted a message telling them to f off.
But at that exact moment (Very Douglas Adams..) the social media site's storage got full ! (A weird error message popped up relating to their servers being full !)
So it wasn't posted..
I suppose that could be seen as a good thing..
Didn't Facebook fill up a few years ago once ?
Anyhow, a related link:
Oh wait, I have to type that with spaces, or you will all get RSI from mousing over it to see it..
