Me : I'm having a pretty bad headache.
Boss : Stop acting like a girl and get back to work.
Me: It's a migraine headache.
Boss: Ohh!! You know it's just in your head stop being a pussy. Don't think about the headache, and you won't feel any pain.
Me(in my head) : You fucking idiot you are partially correct it's in my head. But the pain won't stop if I stop thinking about it.
*Why the fuck does no one understand a neurological disease. If i'm not physically hurt, it doesn't mean i'm not in pain*

Me: Hi Guys, theres no docs on our custom push notification / deeplinking implementation. I've tried to work backwards from a QA testing doc to add new links. Can someone tell me if this is all ok? It seems to behave a little weird.
Dev: Looks ok, but we've moved to the braze platform for sending notifications. You'll need to trigger braze notifications now. Test that it works ok with that <confluence-link>
*hour later*
Me: I've tried the debugging tool, both with my payload and one of the samples from the link. It displays on the phone, but tapping it doesn't trigger the deeplinking.
Dev: No it works, try one of these <screenshot of samples I used>
*hour later*
Me: Tried it again on the real device to make sure, as well as on develop and master. Not working with those samples or mine.
Dev: No it does. It comes in here in this library <github link to line of code>
Me: ... Nope, debugged it, it doesn't get passed the next 'if' check on the next line as its missing a key/value. The whole function does nothing.
Dev: Oh do you want to send a braze notification?
Me: ..... you told me I had too .... yes I guess.
Dev: ok for a braze notification it works different, send this <entirely different sample no where on the link>
Me: ...... but ..... this is only for braze notifications ..... why .... all the samples have deeplink url's .... but they don't ....... are you ..... FFS!!!!! !@#?!

Having a non technical boss is such a pain. He thinks all the features should be a piece of cake. There should be a course in business departments where people will be taught how programming works.5

Go fuck yourself. They're the company that makes those pain in the ass mini-game ads. You know, the ones that aren't even relevant to the game.

I saw this as a ./ comment a while back on a discussion about dev tools (sorry... don't have a link to the actual post...) It was so good that I printed it off and pinned it to my cube. Thought I'd share it here--
"The pain in programming doesn't come from the tools. Yeah, it's a pain to learn the tools, but that's short lived. The real pain comes from the nature of programming. It's caused by having to tell the computer in excruciating detail exactly what you want it to do without glossing over any of the 'you know what I mean' steps, because the computer certainly doesn't know what you mean. And not only do you have to tell it how to do the job when everything is working as it should, you have to anticipate all the ways in which things could fail and tell the computer what to do in those cases, too. THAT'S the painful part of programming--the programming. No tool is going to fix that."4 -
Deciphering 10-20 jira tickets that relate to 1 feature which aren't linked in anyway beyond titles spread throughout an epic or 2.
Ah the pain of having to go through 200 tickets to find everything you need for a single feature.7 -
Those developers working under non-technical bosses, i understand your pain.
1. Pain when they don't realise that output != number of hours put in. Aaaaaaand that acting busy doesn't mean someone's working.
2. Pain when chilling out in office is necessary, because mind jobs don't work same as other jobs. Wherein if you don't vent it out you're gonna screw up the code. Them not getting that.
3. Pain of "meetings".
4. Pain of changing the feature when you're done, and them acting as if its a minor change.
5. Pain of vague requirements.
6. Pain of a product not thought through, and them trying to blame the implementation.rant developers life office pain office politics office life developerslife non tech people programmer life non techie5 -

WHY THE FUCK are HTML emails such a pain in the ass. I now feel extra sorry for all the devs out there that have to make those things for them to simply annoy people12

Apple iPhone testing without being on the app store is so annoying, I had to sign up some people to test the app I've been working on and had issues on my end, it really is this whole security bullshit, really it isn't needed.
I couldn't get the team provisional certificate thing to show up because when I clicked the account the team certificate settings would disappear, only after right clicking and hitting help then clicking the team while it was selected could I go to the right window.
I don't see why it's so damn hard to do this crap.
Yet with Android, it's so easy.
I really have issues with the testing for this iPhone app, I went through so many different ways to try and get it to work.
Anyways all done, crashlytics is an awesome testing tool if you can get around that small issue I had.4 -
Devoloping and running a simulator for iOS is so smooth experience I am in love with it. Though I am an android user developing for android is such a pain sometime. Android studio needs more improvement.

Yeah sure Phillips, Lets not support android 7. Because when you make an electronic device controlled by an app that helps people with chronic pain. I'm sure those people would like to spent their afternoon finding out how to downgrade android just to keep using it.
The device is called pulserelief and when its working its great :) but when you're in pain you really are NOT IN THE MOOD TO DOWNGRADE YOUR ANDROID VERSION. -
My supervisor once said he had a dream about me in the bathtub (after getting his teeth pulled and being on pain killers). Still was creepy none the less, like I didn't need to know. Lol.7

My mom passed away in 2014. Were it not for the pain she was in all her life, I’d love to have her back and I’d gladly provide all the computer help she’d need.1

two days before I complained of lower back pain. raised a concern in office as its due to long sitting hours and got a chair today with great lumbar support. :)3

When I go to bed, I power off my laptop instead of just closing the lid. I don't bring my phone with me. I don't have a smartwatch. I sleep with no electronic devices with me.
Anyone can solve a lot of their problems by conversing with themselves one on one. Instead, they prefer a feed algorithm taking away their pain. But the nature of pain-relieving addictions is that they always intensify the pain in the long run.
Listen to yourself. Speak to yourself quietly, one on one, without mark zuckerberg in your room listening to your every word. The overwhelming pain will be no more after mere minutes. Only then can you be free.4 -
It's a pain in the ass that you are given a really short deadline with a huge system scope, i think the clients think that i just throw some pixie dust to my pc then it magically code it self.8

I'm not going to have a lot of new friends here but I am fed up with all those guys complaining about CSS on devRant.
CSS is damn easy. Get over it. Take some lessons, learn it the right way and shut your mouth.
I'd prefer you share your enlighten opinion on CSS in JS with React Native or CSS compositing with ReactJS which are both huge pain in the ass.
Plain CSS isn't the cause of all your pain. You are.11 -

A word of advice to framework authors:
If I am currently using v2.5.5 of a library, and I update to 2.8.6, I would expect to maybe have to update a few deprecated method calls here and there.
I do not expect the entire API to be completely different, with half the classes totally renamed and restructured. Breaking changes should go into a new major version plz4 -

THE TALE OF THE CRAZED VISIONNAIRE
Once upon a time some masochist woke up and snorted a gallon of glue. "I NEED PAIN", he shouted, and then proceeded to hammer down his own cock over an iron anvil, in an effort to uncover the most intense pain a human could experience. And yet even such a punishment was not enough, for our pain-starved hero thirsted for even higher heights. "This hammering can't satisfy my spirit", he proclaimed; "I shall find ever greater pain than what little solace these tools can provide, but it's much too hard a task for a single mortal to complete in one lifetime. And lo, I will gather around me the bravest and uncover the intense sorrow no human has ever experienced before!". And for his journey he found himself a loyal fellowship, all striving to find the ultimate pain a mortal can experience.
"But who could be crazy enough to follow a glue-fueled schizo who hammers their own genitals?", you might stupidly ask. But why, the JS community of course.

my covid is still not recovered. Today marks the two weeks. I got fever the first day and then fever was gone but body pain and weakness was there. In 2 days, body pain was gone too. Now I couldn't only eat well. So tried light food but after sometime it was harder to eat properly.
Now I'm having the same diet I used to have before covid, but I'm still not feeling well. I feel pain in my shoulders. My heart races almost all the time and that gives restlessness to my days and it's very hard to focus because of that. Family issues, work, excitement of switching companies, even small bit of sound makes me more restless. If someone has the same symptoms when did they last?17 -

What's the general opinion around here on Authy for 2FA?
I've been down the road of phone wipes and phone swaps before that blow out the Google Auth codes which is nothing but a royal pain in the ass to get access back to all the accounts setup.

Currently I have to transwrite a webdesign from 2008 to a WordPress theme... I it literally a pain in the ass.

A normal day on my CMS as a Service...
URL: https://go to CMS
> Login screen: enter credentials, check checbox "remember me" (which doesn't remember you)
> redirected to SSO (single sign-on welcome page)
> Re-enter URL to go to CMS
> Fires up second browser on second screen, do the exact same things as above
--- Code editing
As it's a very modern CMS, you have to edit the code via the CMS using a bulky and honestly shitty editor (or rather: they didn't spend time configuring it to be at least semi-decent).
Plus default white horrible theme.
> Go to "/themes"
> Scroll all the way down the page
> Enter filename in search box
> Click the "Edit" button, which is a small button located right next to a much bigger red "DELETE" button. When you middle click (as I always open files in new tabs) on the DELETE button, it DELETES without confirmation. In such cases, you lose up to three days of work asking the providers to set it back up for you via their backup - and charge you for that. So sorry for deleting an *important* file
> Edit the file.
> Save the file - it takes 3 seconds. Upon saving, rescroll again to where you were in the code.
> On the other screen, refresh dev view of current template
> Wait 5 seconds
> If there are any special blocks, they all load via a semi-synchronous AJAX request (it's async, but they load one by one), the same time you waited to refresh your page.
> Notice you forgot adding some markup
> Re-edit the file, save...
> OH NO - I'VE BEEN BACKGROUNDEDLY DISCONNECTED. Back to Login page.
> Enter credentials.
> Am not on the CMS, but on the SSO
> Navigate back to file
> Re-write new changes
--- Manager comes in:
I need to you edit XXX objects in DB Manager (a big PHPMyAdmin if you will)
> New tab, go to https://DB
> Although still connected on CMS, I have to re-enter credentials
> Am redirected to SSO
> Re-enter https://DB
> Find the object (20 seconds of loading)
> Find the appropriate field
> Find out the field is in fact another object located elsewhere
> Uff, thank goodness, there's a shortcut button to directly edit said elsewhere object
> Operates on elsewhere object + save
> Re-edits original object + save
> ERROR 500, APPLICATION UNEXPECTEDLY CRASHED
:') painful much?
(for those who ask: yes i've got plenty of mind-reflexes in order to minimise losses)2 -

sigh. I hope one day Linux can be rewritten in something with more sensible package management. C/C++ can just be a real pain more often that not. My case was trying to install CUDA on ubuntu 16 following the OFFICIAL developer guide. gave up after trying for an hour. CBD oil has been used for years by individuals, who want to reduce their dependence on drugs. It was only recently that CBD was studied for possible pain relief by medical professionals. It is a highly important part of any healthy diet, because it is an important natural compound in plants.
Since the ancient Chinese first use marijuana as a medicinal treatment in 3000 BC, various cultures have used its healing properties, for a variety of medical conditions. However, in modern society, people often rely on pharmaceutical drugs to deal with their pain. One of the common problems with painkillers is that they can cause a number of side effects that can worsen your health. These side effects include depression, anxiety, insomnia, irritability, suicidal thoughts and more. Therefore, people have been turning towards natural remedies for their pain relief.
CBD oil has been shown to be very effective at reducing your pain, especially if you are taking narcotic painkillers. It is believed to stop or prevent the onset of physical discomfort, which means it does not provide temporary relief. As long as you are using it regularly, it can effectively help you overcome your pain.
In recent studies, medical professionals have suggested that the effectiveness of CBD was increased when it was combined with other herbs, such as ginger and eucalyptus. The main reason for this is that these two herbs have a great deal of medicinal qualities. Many people choose to combine these two natural ingredients to help reduce the amount of chemicals in their body, which will lead to a reduction in pain. By taking these products together, you will feel a reduction in pain faster than ever before.
You need to take care when using these products, however, as it is important to make sure that you do not take more than one product at a time. Taking too much of a product can actually create a higher chance of adverse reactions.
People have discovered that by taking CBD oil, they can relieve their pain, without relying on pharmaceutical drugs. If you have been using painkillers for a long period of time, try using a supplement to help you get the relief you are looking for.
Another great thing about CBD oil for pain relief is that it will help you maintain a healthy appetite. Studies have shown that when people eat foods high in CBD, such as hemp seeds and hemp oil, their bodies release natural hormones to help them fight off hunger.
If you are interested in finding out more about CBD oil for pain relief, check out. They can tell you about the various uses of the oil, the different strains of it and what to expect from it when using it.

Meiplus Dentalcare: Effective Relief for Toothaches in Marine Parade
Toothaches can be one of the most uncomfortable and painful experiences you can have. Whether it's a sharp, constant pain or an occasional throb, toothaches are often a sign that something isn't right with your oral health. If you’re experiencing tooth pain and need relief, Meiplus Dentalcare in Marine Parade is here to help. Located at 141 East Coast Road, Singapore 428831, our dental team is ready to provide effective treatments for toothaches and other dental concerns.
What Causes Toothaches?
Toothaches can occur for various reasons, ranging from minor to more severe underlying issues. Understanding the cause of your toothache is the first step in finding the appropriate treatment. Some common causes of toothaches include:
Cavities: The most common cause of toothaches is a cavity or dental decay. When bacteria in your mouth break down food particles, they produce acid that erodes your tooth enamel, leading to cavities that can cause pain.
Gum Disease: Gum infection or inflammation, also known as gingivitis or periodontitis, can result in toothaches, as the gums begin to pull away from the teeth, leading to sensitivity and pain.
Tooth Abscess: A severe tooth infection can lead to an abscess, a pocket of pus that causes intense, localized pain. Abscesses require immediate treatment to prevent the infection from spreading.
Tooth Sensitivity: Some people experience tooth pain due to sensitivity, often triggered by hot or cold food and drinks. This sensitivity can be caused by worn enamel or receding gums.
Teeth Grinding (Bruxism): Habitual grinding of teeth, especially at night, can cause toothaches as it puts excess pressure on the teeth, leading to discomfort.
Trauma or Injury: A fall or injury to the mouth can result in tooth pain, either from a cracked tooth, loose tooth, or other dental injuries.
How We Treat Toothaches at Meiplus Dentalcare
At Meiplus Dentalcare, we prioritize your comfort and well-being. If you’re experiencing a toothache, our team of experienced dentists will conduct a thorough examination to determine the cause of your pain and recommend the best treatment options for relief. Here are some of the ways we treat toothaches:
Dental Fillings: If your toothache is caused by a cavity, we may recommend a dental filling. We’ll remove the decayed portion of the tooth and fill it with a material that restores its shape and function.
Root Canal Therapy: If the pain is due to an infection in the pulp of the tooth, a root canal may be necessary to remove the infection and save the tooth. Our skilled dentists use advanced techniques to ensure this procedure is as comfortable and effective as possible.
Gum Treatment: If your toothache is caused by gum disease, we can provide professional cleaning and gum treatments to reduce inflammation and improve your gum health.
Tooth Extraction: In cases where the tooth is severely damaged or infected and cannot be saved, we may recommend a tooth extraction. Our team will ensure that the procedure is done safely and with minimal discomfort.
Mouthguards for Teeth Grinding: If your toothache is caused by teeth grinding, we can create a custom mouthguard to protect your teeth and prevent further damage.
Medication for Pain Relief: We may recommend over-the-counter pain relievers or prescribe medication to help manage your toothache pain while we work on resolving the underlying issue.
Why Choose Meiplus Dentalcare for Toothaches?

Our holistic therapies are designed to not just alleviate pain, but also to address its root causes, so you can experience long-term relief.
Acupuncture: Acupuncture is a time-tested treatment for managing various types of pain, including chronic back pain, joint pain, headaches, and sports injuries. By stimulating specific points on the body with fine, sterile needles, acupuncture promotes natural healing, reduces inflammation, and helps to release endorphins—your body’s natural painkillers.
Cupping Therapy: Cupping therapy is a traditional healing technique that uses vacuum cups to create suction on the skin. This technique helps to improve blood circulation, reduce muscle tension, and relieve pain, especially in areas of chronic stiffness or tightness. Cupping is effective for conditions like neck pain, shoulder tension, and back discomfort.
Trigger Point Therapy: Trigger point therapy targets specific muscle knots and tight spots that cause pain in other areas of the body. By applying pressure to these points, our therapists can release tension, improve mobility, and provide relief from both acute and chronic pain.
